With the exception(s) of Tampa and Arizona, every team on the Seahawks’ schedule was a projected playoff contender, and at least 7 were supposed to be legit Super Bowl contenders.

There was/is nothing easy about the Seahawks’ schedule, and it was intended to be even more difficult than it is. If anything, the Seahawks’ schedule was rigged to make them fail.
The only perceivable gi’me’s on the Hawks’ entire schedule were versus the Cardinals and Buccaneers at home (i.e. in Seattle), and you see what happens when Jameis is actually focused.
Even the Cardinals are at least as good as the middling or weaker contending AFC teams.
The rest of those games had the potential of being brutal, and still may. Nobody expected Cam Newton and Matt Ryan to be injured.
No one knew that the Rams would be inconsistent (for no discernible reason), or that the Eagles’ offense would be stagnant due to Carson Wentz’s inconsistencies.
The Saints have been tough regardless, as was expected. Drew Brees was hurt and they knocked us off with Teddy Bridgewater.
Carolina and Atlanta were supposed to be strong, and the Browns were supposed to be Super Bowl contenders, as were the Eagles.
The Ravens, Steelers and 49ers were supposed to be tough games, and they were.
If things had shaken out as intended, the Seahawks would have had the toughest schedule in the league.
If the Seahawks are getting any kind of a break this year, it is due to injuries and luck. Moreover, they deserve it after having had one of the league’s top-3 toughest schedules every year since 2013.
Find another team that has faced down the bullets the Seahawks have year after year and had the same success over an 8-year span. Even the Patriots have a powder-puff schedule every year.
It just so happens that a team besides the Steelers happens to be good enough to beat them this year. The Seahawks didn’t have it easy this year, and they haven’t in the past.
