I think if people actually gave indie games a try, they would understand why they’re so important to the gaming world.
let's remember that Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft started out as Indies.
Exactly - Hollow Knight, Undertale and Celeste hold their own against the best in the business, imo
Most of indie games are barely decent, and most of the 1% of indie games that gets recognition are "artsy" games, with simplistic gameplay elements, purely atmospheric music and little to no dialogue. Which can be considered excellent depending on who you ask, but I personally despise games like these.
I really like Shovel Knight though.
Hambs23 Perception of indie games is subjective. Consider the “artsy” Brooklyn hipsters who don’t own a single AAA game for their Switch, only indie games that have that art style that big name developers stay away from. They make games for those gamers, and it is their life’s work that deserves to be respected, as many games never make it as far as a home console release.

Hades' animation was so hOT ah im sorry, Spititfarer looked so cute and a type of calming game same with garden story. Takeshi and Hiroshi looks wholesOme. Having a game with huge hindu influence is sO good, Raji definitely looks really good and exciting. Short Hike is also sO CUTE AAA im really suffering with the "timed console exclusive" Ah, wish i had a nintendo switch 😔👊🏻

Spiritfarer, Hades & Short Hike have been released on steam, played all of them and they're great. Love the atmosphere of Spiritfarer and Short Hike. Well, short hike is really short tho, I completed it in 1.5 hours. Hades is my favorite one, definitely must buy if you're into rogue-lite genre.
Me at the start: I hope there is some news about Silksong but I'm cool ether way.

The only reasonable way that would happen is if the smash rep was an indie rep and even then it’d probably be in a separate direct
For the people who legitimately wanted Smash, Mario and Zelda, this is an indie direct. Third party games only pretty much. No Nintendo franchises. Don't dislike because of that, dislike if you thought it was a bad direct, but not because of a game that inevitably wasn't gonna be in the direct

@@himankdayal7013 At this point I have bought and played the game. It is not a masterpiece that will get critics attention and point more people to it, but I think whomever does get it has good chance to find it an enjoyable experience.

Raji has some really good artwork. I'm seeing some other inspirations which weren't mentioned, and I'm already sold. I'm likely soon to be under the strong impression of high quality from the music and level design.
Manifold Garden. I've played a demo this game years ago at a gaming expo and got to meet the creator William Chyr who was a super nice guy and has a degree in physics not game creation. It was an awesome game then. And I've followed the games progress and did a little testing, and its evolved so much. Its basically a MC Escher and gravity physics puzzle game. Very excited to get the full game.

oh my god, A Short Hike has the perfect DS era aesthetic. ive literally seen a few games on the system that have that look to them. thats kind of amazing to see replicated without being limited to the DS hardware.

I was thinking the same thing. DS era graphics aren't the same as N64 or old PC ones so it's an interesting look to return to.

Oh sweet, I had no idea Raji was coming to Switch. The gameplay reminds me a lot of Prince of Persia, and you don't see a lot of games based on Hindu mythology. Definitely checking it out.

Not bad for an Indie Direct. There were several games that looked intriguing. Like Hades, Subnautica, Raji, & Evergate. And who doesn't want a second goose? lol Great ending 💯

Hades is honestly one of the best games I've played, well worth getting when it comes out for switch
I personally like Card Shark, but I'm still sad about Silksong.
Subnautica is absolutely brilliant. I've been playing it on PS4. Wouldn't mind picking up a second copy when I get a switch.

Man, Spiritfarer has some wonderfully charming art.
Raji pulling inspiration from Hindu and Indian lore sounds really cool.
Card Shark is a good example of a trailer done right. It was pretty funny and gave a good example of its gameplay.
Dag, dwag. If Torchlight 3 is running on Switch in that trailer, then that's impressively smooth given the amount of enemies and effects.
Spiritfarer looks very promising. Love the style in the trailer.
Thoroughly enjoyed Hades, Hypnospace, Subnautica, and Manifold Garden. Can't believe this video is already more than 3 years old!
Already rewatched it a couple of times and I'm liking each game even more.
Goose Co Op was nice. Here's hoping we get some SilkSong next time

It's such a cool concept and the story behind it is touching. I just wonder how creative you can actually be in creating levels or if its going to just rely on story telling.
