Because the Switch is already more well received than the Wii U. The Wii U was rocky from the start and hard to sell anything on, whereas the Switch is already a welcome addition to the current console market in most respects. It's gonna be way easier to market MK8DX as a must have for the Switch when 12 months down the track there's potentially more Switches in the wild than Wii Us.

Loving the Switch right now. Zelda is such a long game that it will keep with busy alongside Mario Kart until Mario Odyssey!
I'm a classic Nintendo gamer but I'm definitely giving both of them a shot if they are well received.
Mario kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey is the only reason I bought a Switch. If Zelda was the only game on it though then it's useless!
Looking foreward to Odyssey, ARMS and Zelda DLC, meanwhile hoping for an announcement of Pokemon Switch, Smash on Switch, and a Zelda HD collection. They all seem likely, especially Pokemon and Zelda with the new Amiibo, that would make my Switch the best console I ever owned.

CAPCOM is thinking about bringing Monster Hunter 5 for the Switch in 2018 (first in Japan).
Switch dosen't have region have region-lock so apart from the language it won't matter if it's released in Japan first right?

Got the game yesterday and it was AMAZING but I think they could have added Breath of the Wild Link (similar to the recolours of Yoshi and the inklings just that with the blue tunic) and a P Switch (cos this game is on the Nintendo Switch) which changes your placing in the race with somebody else's

A friend and I played it earlier today using split Joycons. What a beautiful experience! Love it! The Battle Mode is a HUGE improvement from the Wii U!

I love this game and have deep feelings for it since I played mario kart growing up (mainly double dash), but playing online I find myself getting aggravated too often. Getting hit by 3-5 red shells in a row dropping from 1st-2nd place down to last it not that fun. They need to scale down the items a bit imao

Unless you already own MK8 and it's DLC on the Wii U. Literally the only new thing in Deluxe are a few new characters, double items, and improved battle mode. Nothing of importance like Double Dash mode or new cups and tracks were added.

I downloaded it off of the JPN store yesterday. After a couple years of not playing this on the Wii U it's so refreshing to play such a colorful and fun game. Still holding out for a true sequel on the switch.

TonyKanameKuran I admit it I really do like the new battle mode. But it's really bringing me Sonic Adventure DX memories where I thought I was buying a new game and got a Surprisingly good game, but when I went to the dream cast version, I realized there wasn't much new stuff to begin with

My favorite thing are the Koopalings. I loved their funny designs when I was a kid and grew up with the Super Mario cartoons. My favorite is Ludwig / Kooky von Koopa.

nerd of now the biggest middle finger to Wii U owners is the Wii U it self.
+ner of now Not exactly. You still own the Wii U version. You can still play it. Deluxe includes all DLC's and new content and this strategy has been done so many times before by Microsoft, 3rd-party developers for Playstation and Xbox and other developers.
Deluxe wasn't made for you, it's clearly made for the hundreds of millions of people who never bought a Wii U and the game in the first place.
ReachStudioPro Except for the fact that remaster/ports on other platforms usually pack in ALL PREVIOUSLY AVAILABLE DLC CONTENT (as in they dont restrict features that weren't there before to the remaster/port)

Today is April 29 2023 and I realized that is has been 6 years of that game
so no update of the sort to the riginal wii U copies that millions of people purchased? I love the game but I don't want to pay full price for the same game, from last gen console, with only very little new content???
What you have failed to realize that the Wii U version has sorely lacked-- Battle mode. Only on the Nintendo Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe now has BATTLE MODE. I wouldn't call it "very little new content" if I were you. Think positive instead! There's plenty of room in the gray area... that's where most people live like myself.

I would recommend buying this game. Even though it's very similar to the original, I find myself wanting to play it more (new battle mode and I can play it on the go). You'll have even more fun blowing up people on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe :)

You know initially, I had a hard time deciding on whether or not I wanted to get this since I had the Wii U version with the dlc as well, but a friend of mine told me he didn't want his copy and said he'd sell it to me for $35 and... well, let's just say I'm having a shitton of fun right now. :)

I've just got this game today but I still think it's neat how they release the same game again but I still call it a win win if you'll pardon the expression.
I just really like how nintendo shoves great scores they got for great games onto peoples faces wether they like it or not....It's just so satisfying especially the breath of the wild one, they made an entire wall out of 10/10s and 5/5s
Looks great! A shame that when I had a Wii U and nearly accrued 10K coins for the golden sail that battle mode wasn't a part of the game.
