People are actually complaining because Rosalina is a secret character rather than Daisy? Since when has Daisy been a relevant character in ANY Mario game? Minus being in the party and sports games, she hasn't been in any main title since Land. And she won't until Nintendo decides to write her into some new plot.
As someone who has a NES with SMB as their first game, the introduction of Rosalina has been the best thing ever in recent Mario history.

My hype for this game is ridiculous. I didn't think it was possible for me to be more excited and then Nintendo shows off a Mario Kart style stage and Rosalina as a playable character. This game is going to be amazing!!!

Impressive! This blows away anything I've seen on PS4 or Xbone so far. I don't have a Wii U yet, but this would have to be the first purchase once I take the plunge. Also, I loved Mario 3D Land on 3DS; I beat everything in it.
Okay, is anyone else excited about that top-down shooter level? Rosalina's inclusion is awesome, but at the same time, we can't undersell the coolness of the new levels being shown here.

I have a feeling this game has the potential to become my new favorite 3D Mario game of all time. It may even surpass my likes for Super Mario 64.

Wonderful graphics, stupendous gameplay, outstanding music, massive variety, amazing design, unique feel, awesome multiplayer, and unmatched fun…only on Nintendo.
This game stopped being an update of Super Mario 3D Land a long time ago. There is so much content in it. I hope the Super Mario 3D games become the standard for Mario games in the future.
3D Mario games have always been a standard since mario 64 ^^ While Super Mario 3D Land was trying to be both a 2D Mario game and a 3D Mario game, it seems like this game is what we all know as a 3D Mario game (Like Mario Galaxy and Sunshine).
2D Mario games are such fun, which will keep you entertained all the way through, while a 3D Mario game's epicness can't be described in words, I don't want either to replace the other

Despite Xbox One and PS4 coming out, the only console I wish for Christmas this year is a Wii U, now that this and other wonderful recent games came out.

I think he will be the best game of the year (and maybe,one of the best of all times).
I don't really care if this is GOTY or not, I know I'll play it, I'll enjoy it, and I'll love every minute of it.

at first I didn't think Rosalina had a chance to be in Smash 4, but after this trailer I think she has a pretty decent chance of making it in.
I'd rather have Toad before her, honestly.
Cyberguy64 the problem with toad is that 1: he's part of peach's moveset and 2: what would toad do?
1: They've already changed up a few things from earlier screenshots. Making Peach's Toad become Toadsworth or something isn't out of the question.
2: Pickup and throw things, (SMB2, Wario's Woods.) Be a light and quick, but physically strong character type, as he is in SMB2 and 3D World. Use things from Spinoff games he's featured heavily in. Use references to the NSMB games seeing as how he's been prevalent there. Lots of options. A lot more than Rosalina. She shines here because she brings something new, yet familair to the 3D Land formula. In Smash, she doesn't have anything to differentiate from Peach or Zelda.
She became quite popular among Nintendo. She appeared in Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 7, she'll appear as an NPC in Mario Party: Island Tour, so yeah, she has a chance of making it in Super Smash. Especially so they'd have more female representatives in Super Smash. The only thing that I find weird in Super Mario 3D World's Rosalina is that she seems pretty short.
I'm really hoping for some DLC characters. Don't get me wrong, I'm really excited about Rosalina but I just kept thinking, why not Wario or even Daisy? Those two have been with Nintendo for such a long time and I think they deserve some more time in the spotlight.
Sorry, no DLC for this game.
Besides, this game looks too good for Daisy to be in it.xD

'About time'? She has been featured in many games since 'Mario Galaxy'. Mario Kart 7, Mario party island tour, Mario Galaxy 2 and Mario Kart WII.

For some reason this makes me believe that Rosalina will be an unlockable character for Super Smash Bros. 4, only because they introduced her in Super Mario 3D World, which I really didn't expect to happen.
I think she'd be a pretty cool character. And Nintendo might do it; I know they've been trying to get more female characters

The switch version has become the number 8 highest selling video game of all time! And its just a port of the Wii U version, plus some extra ofcourse

I thought the Mario series was doomed to stagnation, but the people in charge of these games have proven they still have some good ideas left, and they're still trying. This game is the Mario Sunshine to 3D World's Mario 64. Let's hope this trend continues and the series stays on the up and up!
You should never doubt the Mario series ;) It's been arround for 32 years and still competting with the Halos, GTAs and CODs.
the weird thing about Mario is that the "stagnation" concerns never really started until the "new" super Mario bros series came around. Sure Nintendo re-released the classics on gba and a remake of 64 on ds but nobody seemed to think it was getting old because the 3d games were always the center of attention. Then the new super Mario bros series kept getting sequels with minor differences and people started getting the idea that Mario games were mostly recycled..... but then you look at THIS! lol

Its really cool that Rosalina brings back the spin jump element from super mario galaxy. Now all i need is for yoshi to be in the game...
For those asking for even more characters, keep something in mind: more characters creates more potential for inbalance in gameplay. It's why the Smash Bros developers have said they're so careful about who they add to the series because it's easy to slip up and make a character who is superior to the others. So I'd rather have a Mario 3D World with 5 balanced characters over one that's unbalanced. Not saying they can't potentially make another character(s) and still keep it level-field, but they might not have the development time so just something to keep in mind.
She is balanced. Mini Rosalina loses her spin attack, and other than the spin attack she's pretty much the same as Mario.

@@trinitdm2677 I have the game and Rosalina only loses her spin attack when she has power ups. I still do the spin attack with mini Rosalina. (I know I am very late but I just wanted to point this out).
5 years later, rosalina is shown to be able to complete entire levels without touching the ground more than twice, and smash bros has a potted plant as dlc. I love the future

Yes. We need Mercedes Rose to voice her again. Kerri Kane (who voiced her in Mario Kart 7) confirmed in her webpage that she didn't voice Rosalina in this game, so it's likely that she got a brand new voice actress again.

These aren't. I have seen a lot of gameplay footage with a lot of variety. Seems like a very great game. Any Mario fan should enjoy it.

I really liked Mercedes Rose as the voice of Rosalina. Her voice fit perfectly for Rosalina. I was so upset to hear her voice change in Mario Kart 7 with Kerri Kane as the new voice actress. I think if Kerri Kane was her voice from the start, we wouldn't be having this problem lol I don't know what happened to Mercedes Rose but I think Nintendo did a good job in finding a voice not too different

Daisy would be a better choice! She would be in a MAIN Mario game for the first time! Yoshi would have been even more AWESOME! Heck, even Wario and/or Waluigi! Nintendo needs to remember more about those characters OUTSIDE sports games!
I'm guessing you forgot that Yoshi is getting his own game on the 3ds and WiiU.
I feel Rosalina was the better choice because the spinning move set seems wel suited for her. Besides why Daisy before Pauline it's not like Daisy is as important as Pauline was, Daisy was kidnapped so Wario could take over Mario Land
Awesome rundown on some other interesting additions to Super Mario 3D World. There's definitely a bunch of nice things here to make it stand out from just being a clone of 3D Land. All 10 of these things are great in their own way, and I like the music playing in the background too, which is also really catchy. The game is coming soon but alas, I don't have a 3DS or Wii U and won't for a long time. At least I can be excited about this game and plan on getting it soon.
This makes me want a Wii U. I mean, I was probably hoping to get one soon, but there wasn't any one game that made me want one. Now there is.
A few of these aren't really that original but I'm still getting this game for sure. (BTW props to you nintendo for putting in an awesome arcade classic, a racer, and a plat former all-in-one mario game :D )

Being able to play as Rosalina is pretty cool. But I must admit, I'm a little disappointed that the fifth character isn't Daisy. It seems like she and Waluigi are only around for racing Karts, playing sports, or participating in Mario Party. Neither one of them have been in a Mario adventure game, unless you count Daisy being at the end of the original Mario Land for the Game Boy. Perhaps the next time Luigi gets his own game, his rumored girlfriend and his rival should show up in it...!
I agree with this. Its a real shame Daisy hasn't been in a main "story" line Mario game since her debut.
I totally love both Daisy and Rosalina, but its getting kind of annoying how people are writing her off as a Peach clone when Rosy looks like an older version of Peach; and the fact Daisy is only in the spinoffs where she CAN'T define her character (at least not as well as being in a full game) is NOT helping.

those clone cherries look like they're be a challenge to use properly, but it looks like a ton of fun. cant wait to get this game!
I know that this video was partially made because there's so many claims that Mario is the "same old thing," but honestly those who know better already know there will be things to look forward to. Thanks, Nintendo!

They have taken down the review. xD We have seen something we shouldn't have seen. And the new comments have some positive aspects, but in general they are worse... :/

I swear, when it said "Golden Express" for a split second I thought it said "Golden Experience" and the Jojo's Bizzare Adventure fan in me got too excited, lol.

Awww man I really wish you didnt put the unlockable character in the thumbnail of this video. I still probably would of watched this video anyways and stopped at number 10 so that it wasnt spoiled for me. I was trying so hard not to find out who the unlockable character was, looks like it is too late now sadly.
