A must buy, thank you for making this game. Those of us who are 35 or older are shot through the heart of nostalgia with this game. Those afternoons playing on the super nintendo or in the arcade with friends, unforgettable.

33 here and yes. I played TMNT with my brother and sister when we were kids and we loved it to death. Though we always fought to see who would play with Donatelo lol. Im rly excitd to get this game!

It does kind of irritate me that you're not able to have all the characters at once, though.

If there are seven characters available but only six players can play at the same time, I hope nothing bad happens to the unselected character like in Mystic Warriors. :O
And we get Leatherhead in the game as a boss as well as Casey Jones being a playable character
Really hoping they got Jim Cummings to voice Leatherhead. It just wouldn't be the same without "I Gua-Un-Tee!" in his voice.

@@dthegrimm I would very much bet on that happening. He seems to be still be very actively voicing everything and anything as well as his old characters again still to this day! Heck he'll probably be voicing Shredder too since he apparently just recently voiced him in Nick All Star Brawl.
I love that best 'em ups have slowly made a comeback after they were pretty much abandoned with the transition to 3D graphics
The fact Casey instantly wears a hat for some moves makes me want to play him more. I'm also convinced Shredder will inevitably be made playable. That or at least 1 more playable character, either at launch or as DLC.
how would that work? Shredder is the main villain in the game. Why would shredder logically team un in a game where he is getting revenge?

The game would be in reverse. Shredder runs from right to left punching his way through pizza deliveries, civilians, vanilla ice, to finally kick some shell as a level boss.
This is awesome! Were long overdue for a good TMNT game. This is a day 1 buy for me.

They would need permission from Usagi's creator to include him. Wouldn't be hard, as Usagi and the turtles crossed over many times.
@@carlosrocha2977 I don't believe he Usagi was ever actually in the original animated series, but he did crossover in the original comics, and his action figures were released as part of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series of action figures.
Same thing with other obscure characters such as Wingnut.

I don't believe it's a coincidence that both this game and neon white are releasing on the 16th, I believe that the Nintendo Direct will showcase these before they get to new announcements.

Replay it with each character. Then play with friends for team combos. Then do different difficulties. That's PLENTY
@@mitchellslan7408 No, if it is a few stages with repetitive play.. nothing will save it as a campaign release, and will be purchased solely for nostalgia and novelty, only to be soon forgotten.

@@Big_Dai Turtles in Time was fairly short, Sonic games are short, and those are beloved. A beat 'em up can be shorter then say a modern game and still be enjoyable, but if it's as long as Streets of Rage 4, (which is longer then previous SoR games) I'm fine. I wouldn't want it too long though.

Looks good already. Now we just need the release date for the Cowabunga Collection (complete with use for NES and SNES Nintendo Switch Online controllers) and we're good to go.

That's the only thing I like so far. The 6 player online coop.
I had a friend back in elementary school who was autistic, and we really never talked much. But every time his parents babysat me at their house, we would just go hang out in his room and play Ninja Turtles literally all day long, having a blast in wordless fun.
We also played other beat-em-ups like Streets of Rage and the Power Rangers, but Ninja Turtles was always his favorite and so we played it most, even though I'd never seen a single minute of the shows.
Good times, I hope he's doing well these days.

This was the best announcement from Summer Games Fest.

Just so everyone knows out there. It has been stated by devs in interview on ign that it will have 16 stages with over 20 bosses. That's way more then any other TMNT beat'em up that we have gotten and most other in the genre. So there is plenty. And I personally have counted at least 15 or 16 bosses to back it up. Ask and I'll list them.

This Have Potential to Be the Greatest TMNT Game Ever Made and Even Beat Em Up of All Time
So happy Casey is playable and 6 player! That's so sick, now if only the damn collectors edition wasn't 200 bucks lol. So I wonder with 6 player locally how is that going to work with everything? Assuming for Switch extra joy cons or wifi controllers? And same for PS and Xbox? That's going to be wild, imagine that offline lol but online sounds fun too!
For Switch, I imagine the game will be playable with a single joycon, of which up to 8 can be connected at once. You can also connect with pro controllers (which take up one of the 8 available bluetooth connections), or if you want to have 4 pairs of joycons connected for 4 players, you can also connect two more wired controllers via the USB ports on the dock. Keep in mind this is for the original dock, I'm unsure of the newer one that came with the OLED model.
@@Pichu-82 Oh yeah the default USB ports i have 2 in the dock. I use them for multi-player games. I dont have a pro controller but will prob get one. I have played 8 player smash I used 2 Joy cons with a grip, 1 other the wired and the other was the GC 4 player extensions but the last 2 were wifi controllers think a pro and another wifi one.
Figured that'd be the way to go I was just thinking in my head the easiest way. Thanks for the post. Thats ok I have the classic one.

This looks awesome but I'm betting it'll be tough to keep up with your turtle with 6 players playing at the same time.
Apparently when you press one of the shoulder buttons, it'll highlight your character when you get lost in the chaos.

I know you're joking, but I'm actually hyped for the GB trilogy in the "Cowabunga Collection." Especially, "Fall of the Foot Clan," which looked great for GB standards. Even had parallax background scrolling.

I love how they took Casey and April two useless characters in the 87 series and designed a full moveset for them that looks satisfying to play. Can't wait for this game.

The orginal video excluded Casey Jones as part of the line up. I guess that the delays occurred because they decided to add Casey Jones to the line up.
Thank God he's in! Seeing April with her microphone as a fighter and not Casey was weird. 6-player action also rocks. Add Usagi Yojimbo and make it 8-player! :D
Good that Casey Jones is gonna be in this game. Back when I watched the 87 cartoon, I never knew then that Casey Jones was more major to the TMNT team in the original comics then. But nowadays, with Casey Jones along with April O'Neil and Splinter for the 4 Green Machines, they're practically like the Seven Heavely Virtues!
Sad though that Pat Fraley can't reprise Casey in this. He had a great voice for That incarnation!
