I don’t see why people are hating on this. Having a portable version of the console versions of
Minecraft is really nice to have. The Mario map has nice pixel art and set pieces, and it has exclusive skins and a texture pack. All of that on the go.

1. Kids who weren't born when Minecraft first came out get to experience the game for the first time.
2. People still play the original Mario
3. Some people actually like the game and treat it like you do with your favorite nostalgic titles. This game isn't dying anytime soon. It's most likely going down as the most influential game of this era.
Well said. I bought this is January 2013, and I like to go back to it every once in a while, to experience it all again. Not to mention being able to play it anywhere I go will be a huge plus!
It actually already one of the most successful franchises - releasing over 100 million sales over all device versions. It was most influential during 2010-2015 in my records but its not as effective now.
Also, the game is actually dying, but only for its older fan base - since the game is now intended to grab the attention of it's main consumer audience: kids, and perhaps teenagers.

This is my favorite game. I was so sad when it got replaced with the bedrock edition. I like this better because its so much more simple. It might have no commands, no chat, no new updates, but its the old minecraft! This is the first game i got from the Eshop. Man i remember when they where still updating this. Its not all LAGGY and FANCY like the bedrock edition. On this game i am able to join people in under 2 seconds
Even this music gave me nostalgia even if i have the old one on the xbox one with disc. Its never gonna be the same again because i used to play it with my homie... now we both moved on. On other things on life. Bedrock doesnt give me any nostalgia. But the old version does.

Wait, seriously? In Terraria, all I've ever done is just fight stuff. That's all. In Minecraft I could fight and build stuff like pixel art or mini games in creative. But, whatever.
Although, I like it a lot (look at my profile pic), I get bored alone. Otherwise the world size is vastly 13 times bigger than Wii U, the developers say that this console is really easy to work with, which is great. The online system is improved, and a little feat is the ability to keep inventory w/o host options
I wish Nintendo actually released a switch edition which we could experience the legacy version on switch

Oh Nintendo, if you read this, please please please release HD/remastered/deluxe versions of the Mario Galaxy games (and 3D World and Land), Donkey Kong Country Returns and Tropical Freeze (perhaps the best 2D platformer ever), The Zelda HD remasters (plus HD remasters of Skyward Sword and Link Between World), The Metroid Prime Trilogy (and Other M), Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade Chronicles, Super Smash Bros and Super Mario Maker on the Switch - just to mention a few of your classics.
Maybe you could even release them in bundles like a Mario Galaxy HD 1 and 2-pack. A Mario 3D Land and World remastered-pack, or a Metroid HD Trilogy HD-pack? :D
Or at least just release some of the smaller titles digitally (Like Toads Tresure Hunt), in your E-shop.
These games really games really deserve to be preserved in high as quality as possible - plus a lot of gamers missed out on them your older systems, and would serve as great filler titles in between your bigger releases, so the Switch never would see any droughts. You could even go further back and remaster N64 and Gamecube classics?

Well said. There are so many awesome titles from Nintendos enormous library, that are just begging to be on the Switch - and a Skyward Sword HD remaster (with the option to "switch off the motion controls), is long overdue.
And the same goes for the Galaxy games - two of the greatest and most creative games ever made.
I would love to experience these games again in HD.
And Star Fox 64 for that matter.
Exactly this would be a great way for these great games to live on, and for players who never got to experience them previously to get to try them.
Plus if Nintendo just started dishing out all of their most beloved and best titles in HD remasters, the Switch would have the greatest library of any console ever, in no time.

Just a reminder that the console port from 4J took ~7 seconds to load and loaded menus when you pressed the button instantly and never had to refresh itself every time you woke your console from sleep or went back into the game from the home menu and was much more stable. Good times.

For the love of God this isn't online stop complaining about the 10 year olds that ruin it they can't ruin it if you're playing offline ITS A GOOD GAME
And even when online there isn't voice chat or anything like that, so unless you're constantly thinking to yourself "I'm playing with kids, I'm playing with kids, I'm playing with kids, I'm playing with kids" (in which case you must be really insecure) you should have no problem with it.

And plus it's the community that matters. If you want to go on the MC forums for some info for the game, you'll most likely have 12yr olds just saying YOU DON'T NEED THE INFO ITS THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME (True story). So it takes away the fun. Plus, online play is better than single player for a lot of reasons.
I will be getting this game on the Switch because I do enjoy the main concept, and joining with friends to do some wacky stuff. It's as soon as servers get added and you can't choose who you wanna play with that's when things go down hill.
UltimateGaming there's not microphone on the switch, but I guess you might be able to use a headset, and why when servers come it goes downhill? You're not forced to play on them

This is currently the best portable Minecraft out there.
Pocket edition is better because the worlds are infinite and you can attach a Bluetooth controller for a Switch experience. it's also cheaper. but with a tablet is better if the screen is too small.
Why did they have to discontinue this?! There was no need to make another Minecraft and it looks soo much better than bedrock! Also the red stone works differently in bedrock and so does TNT so some of my machines don’t even work anymore! They’ve actually ruined minecraft just so that they can add cross play and game chat when in reality they couldve just added that to the old minecraft. All the players have gone to that horrible minecraft when we have paid for the old one. You can’t even buy this anymore! Everything would’ve been fine but they had to make sure that this was forgotten about. And the worst thing is that only 3% of the minecraft community will agree because everyone has gone to the new minecraft and no one else is talking about it. I just want it back😭

It's because bedrock is not as limited as the Legacy version, there you didn't have infinite worlds, you didn't have servers, you didn't have realms, you didn't have commands, you didn't have community textures, etc
I remember when I got the switch years ago and we had minecraft, I loved the switch version more than any other for some reason
