@@alexpopowski1318 Hardcore Pokémon fans might seek change; however, when you do have to he highest grossing property of all time...there are certain aspects you should never change. There’s a reason why 2D Mario games are always pretty standard(because that’s has proven to be what the general pubic wants). The general public’s interest in the simplicity of Pokémon is much more important to Nintendo than the more esoteric expectations of hardcore fan.
@@realmatic10 It wasn't so much the mechanics of SwSh (though granted, they are archaic) that irked the hardcore fans, it was the cutting of the National Dex (though that was "fixed" WITH MONEEEEEEY) and the extremely low graphics (for a AAA title). People found out that many of the 3D pokemon models were assets from the 3DS titles.
Imo they should've never moved on from 2D graphics. Most of the models I've seen in 3D pokemons pale in comparison to their 2D counterparts.
Honestly, what's been going on with more recent Pokémon games screams of rush to me. They used to use four years to develop mainline Pokémon games in the DS era, but starting with X & Y, they've only had three years (less than that once you also factor in remakes).

There's a new perspective projection feature on Switch to give games more 3D depth. Also this game and the supersampling makes Switch look like a next-gen platform.

Based on what the commander said the monsters are being influenced by magnamalo driving them mad and gathering them together to attack the village. And the event is similar to the the “night of 100 demons” in Japanese lore ( if I remember it correctly).
I bet magnamalo's not even the true final boss as most mh games goes

ScaffleBun you have a point while monster hunter is widely known to reveal flagships, they do know how to keep the final boss secret.And if that is the case what do you think it will be,a variation of magnamalo or something else entirely?
The story might be that Magnamalo hunts whatever is causing the Rampage, which is why everytime the Rampage happens Magnamalo is there. Either that, or whatever causes the rampage Hunts Magnamalo who on itself is also dangerous enough to cause other monsters to run.

Hmm my best guess would be something entirely new mh final bosses has always been super unique especially lately nakarkos was a squid, atlal ka was a bug, while both shara and xeno are true elder dragons (cuz they're actually dragons) perhaps we get a run in with a new weirdo that controls minds or another frenzy type monster because it seems a lot like it
It's been a while since I was so excited for a game, everything Yes! Everything looks amazing can't wait for the demo! Moreover the singing and the melody at the beginning is really beautiful and soothing. Props to the singer!!!

Look at all the color. I was no fan of the color palette of MHW and I'm glad to see not everything is dirt brown or sand brown this time around.
I was surprised too that the coloring of the Wyverian singing has a good color palette. Make sense because their last game was MHGU. Maybe Portable team just want their games colorful unlike the Main Team.

With contrast turned up slightly, mhw looks very colorful to me
Maybe that goes for the first two maps but every other map looks incredible and is very colorful. And coral highlands is way more colorful than any older map if I’m remembering correctly.
I’m still excited for the return to the old color pallets and prefer them but to say world wasn’t colorful is just ignorant.
@@leviathan_4967 It is clearly not as colorful as the older games from 3rd Gen to GU. Just looking at the Kamura Village I can argue that it has color vibes as Yukumo and Bherna. If you compare it to astera or seliana you can really see a difference on the color. I agree Coral Highlands is colorful but that's the concept of it and it needs to be colorful.

For those saying this looks too good for Switch, quick reminder that Capcom are avid supporters for the Switch and have produced some of the most impressive looking/performing games on the system before.
Agreed 100%. Also, Monster Hunter games tend to visually push whatever hardware they re released on. It wouldnt surprise me at all if this is just a very well optimised Switch version.
I'm really happy to see that the fruit of the dev's team labor is so noticeable, particularly because I imagine this game started development before the launch of the Switch, around the same time Monster Hunter World's development started.

This is like an extension of portable 3rd. Kind of nostalgic.
I really hope the frame rate holds up with the visual upgrade. A single frame can make difference between life and death in end of game quests...

I can give a long review and my own opinions about the trailer but also the new game in the MH series; though, no one actually reads long textbooks online or enjoys reading very long comments Hahahaha .
The Monster Hunter series has always
had different cultures intergraded into the game; which is pretty unique about MH and what makes things slightly different in each game besides new monsters, mechanics, weapons, armour/gears, etc...
For example: Monster Hunter Tri was like Natives on an Island, The environment design of the hunter's village was a fishing village; similar to Hawaiians but also any other cultures that lives on Islands and fishes . There was a MH game on the 3DS that had like a European culture where Shepard heards sheeps in the moutains. The environment design for the hunter's village was on a grassy mountain or valley and there were sheep in one area of the hunter's village in that MH 3DS game. These are only a few examples that I am talking about from what I've seen from MH series .
In this game, Pretty sure everyone knows already just from watching the trailer and being exposed to various entertainments from that country, Japan. This game so far has Japanese culture from architectures, clothing style , foods/desserts , music , even the name of the hunter's village is Japaness, and etc...
To be honest, the trailer makes this game look pretty good and also pretty hype too for various reasons. The blue spiritual or magical sling or hook shot mechanic; is actually similar to another game called, "Toukiden 2" . That game has that hook shot mechanic and the game play style is also similar to MH ; except, you are destroying/hunting Onis or demons instead of monsters. I enjoy both game series and plan to get MH Rise in the future but before I do get it ; I need to get the DLC "Ice Borne" for Monster Hunter World since I've already completed the original story for HMW twice a long time ago.

World was great, but Rise looks even better... Capcom shows how it's done.
in japanese one they call the rampage "Hyakuryuyakou witch means 100 dragons walking through the night" its base one a word Hyakkiyakou that means about 100 of monsters, spirits, etc. forming a line and walking through the night.
And I saw the japanese ver of this tralier and they were pushing the word 100! but I think its impossible to fight 100 monsters at the same time
maybe its gonna be nonstop battle of 100 monsters.

I'm so happy to see the flooded forest return in a open world format. It will remind me so many memory from tri and 3U.
As it stands this is far and away my most anticipated game of 2021.
Also that is a beautiful opening scene.
