@Daniel Ortiz the framerate is pretty solid, the only issue I ran into is sometimes my inputs for the Charge Blade attacks wouldn't register. Only weapon I had issues with, which sucks cause I main it..

its a mix of mhw with a much faster pace to it. the only thing that bothers me as a vet of the original game back in 2004 is spiderman running up climbable walls (specifically vines). Like damn what a way to break my immersion. make the running a mix of world climbing and if u use your wirebug you can run up like spiderman

Yep, game looks amazing, RE engine seems to be perfect on Switch, and the gameplay its so satisfying, maybe too early to say but it can be the best game of the series.

Gonna be better on PC

I mean, you can guarantee that every monster that was introduced in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, like Arzuros and the medium sized Gargwas, are all going to make an appearance. I wouldn't be surprised if we got Amatsu as well.
Mizutsune is a given since it was created to represent Portable 3rd in Generations.

The second I saw the theme of this game I knew mizutsune was going to be in it

I like the look of this monster. I had said in a comment that this monster seems more intelligent than just a mindless animal because it know how to create ice weapons. I had also said that I would really like to see intelligent monsters which are able to create and use swords, bows, armour etc. It will really change up the games style.

@@salmantorik6091 gameplay wise most of the monsters you fight seem to attack the player on instinct. They act more like big versions of animals (I know that's what they are intended with the monsters), but I would like to fight monsters that are obviously more intelligent simply acting like monsters. I know in the lore some monsters are described to be highly intelligent, but gameplay wise the intelligence is almost never shown. They simply jump and swing their limbs or spit substances at you. I'd like to see a monster which can do things such as plant traps for the player, create weapons, etc. To show that higher intelligence in games.

What do you mean? This looks fairly watered down compared to other games on the platform. Bioshock, bayonetta, etc looks good or better than this

It's not much different to Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate that's already on Switch, just has a few new monsters, Wyvern riding, more dialog i guess... graphics wise don't look too different

I've been with the series for a long time, and I can tell you it has gotten better but the wonky animations are still present in the hunters and older monsters.

Even if that isn’t the reason for the most part the dlc for smash has been 90% advertising games, so a hunter is pretty likely.

I feel like a hunter would be one of the most OP canon characters compared to the others.

Could you give me some advice then; I'm a complete newcomer and I just tried using sword-&-shield. I read the manual to learn all the controls, but I'm still finding it rather unintuitive.
For one thing, I kept losing track of the enemy; is there a lock-on button, or will I need to keep adjusting the camera?

@@matthewmuir8884 press the right stick to lock on. The other stuff mainly comes with time. Check out Arekkz sword and shield guide for monster hunter world, its mostly the same here excluding wirebug stuff. Hope this helps

Speaking of wirebug stuff, I kept trying to do the aerial attack (the one where you go into the air using the wirebug and drop down shield-first) as it did a lot of damage, but I kept missing a lot because you can't aim the wirebug while your weapon's drawn.

Just try out the demo for yourself. It runs great in my opinion! I also hope Lagiacrus makes it back in, or better yet, its subspecies.

Walk in a clockwise/ counter clockwise direction when fighting, save all your energy for rolling & special attacks. Thats been my bread & butter & i’ve never lost a fight. Obvious im sure but thought id offer a tip anyways

I jumped in on cross. I am so hyped for this game, try the demo and dont shy away from the difficulty. This is a hard but very rewarding game!

I've personally only played Generations and Generations Ultimate, but yes, this one looks amazing.

Their armor made out of the monsters you hunt, they even have traits of the monster (big and bulky? Good defense on the armor. Strong yet precise? Expect good crit out of that)

Keep in mind that the massive data leak at Capcom has yet to yield anything regarding smash, and that it contained info of anything ranging from 2022 unannounced games, the entire plot of RE VIII, confidential details about the deal between nintendo and capcom regarding monster hunter rise and even freaking pachinkos.
Here's hoping, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I hope so, but Byleth's moveset looks exactly like what a hunter's moveset would be. The director of Monster Hunter also said that the monsters are the main focus and selling point of Monster Hunter, not the hunters.

It might be a bit overwhelming for a newbie, but if you can take the time to learn each monster, how its weapons/armor are made, that's where the real fun starts. Take note that MH is a repetitive game so you need to have the patience to play it over and over to get the good stuff. Good luck out there and happy hunting!!

@@thesilentshadow1256 First off, no. They said that it started as a 3rd DLC pack, not that it started in 2017. Seeing as Champions Ballad was finished and released in late 2017, this probably started early development in 2018. Then they said they'd scrapped all of the DLC work, and started fresh due to having too many ideas.
That would allow us to infer that the sequel started early development in mid 2018.
The original Botw took 5 years to develop. While I think this one will take less time, the game could very well come out in 2023.

As much as I would like that to happen, I don't think we'll be getting a Monster Hunter rep for two reasons:
1. The Monster Hunter director once said that the hunters are not the main focus and are not the selling point of Monster Hunter, the monsters are.
2. Byleth's moveset is basically what a hunter's moveset would be.

If you really want to get in, maybe pick up a Switch Lite on eBay for like 170 USD as there's a few listings with that price and they're new.

And besides, it's not as if this is going away in seconds, you'll be able to pick this up for years, heck, my mom got me mh3u for Christmas

@@financialliteracywithalvin8341 also if you hack your 3ds which is really easy nowadays, you can get mhxx and put an English patch on it. I've played it for 1000+ hours on my 3ds and it works fantastic. Even the online works perfect. Most of the online players don't talk all that much so communication isn't really an issue :)

Try out all the weapons to see which ones you like the feel of. For example I really like the look of great swords but hate how slow I feel with them, if I had stuck with what I thought looked the coolest instead of trying other weapons out I would've probably dropped the game. Also general rule of thumb is hit and dont get hit. Glhf!

Yeah, try out the weapons, see if one resonates with you! If you wanna get used to combat, I personally do a bit of lone training and then fighting a monster to get better. There’s a free demo out right now as well!

If you're using a melee weapon, remember to sharpen your weapon. If you bring a palamute to battle, you can sharpen your weapon while riding on its back so you can be mobile the entire time. Good luck!
