The origin story in the comic book was so much better along with the accompanying storyline that followed it with Stormshadow and his apprentice. You could have made a movie based on that story with characters like Billy, the Hard master, the Soft master, Zartan and the attack on Cobra island that followed and it would have been so much more entertaining

This was the most cringe movie I've seen in a long time. Bad acting, even worse Japanese speaking and accents, and nothing in this movie comes close to being like Japan in any way lol. From the ridiculous "Yakuza", to the costumes, to the Hyundai cars that are non existent in Japan. Hollywood sure likes to get colorful though ha.

I finally watched GI Joe Snake Eyes & I gotta say that the movie wasnt
as bad as some critics say, ye the fight scenes had some cuts, but you still could see what happened and these were fun to watch.
Of course those fights cant be compared to movies like The Raid, but still I liked the whole vibe of the movie and it was pretty entertaining IMO!

I think that's the goal here - reboot to create a universe. If this does well, hopefully we'll get a Destro origin story, a Duke origin story, Cobra Commander, Tomax and Xamot, etc...

In the previous gi Joe’s, he took the vow already when he was a kid and his brother murdered their master. I was thinking the exact same thing as the OP when I saw this trailer lol
He only took the vow of silence in the movies, which were horrendous.
Damaged vocal cords, so it causes pain when he speaks, like in the comics when his face and neck got burned make more sense.

I love how marvel is releasing a cheesy "Kung Fu" movie and claim he's the first Asian "superhero". He's just a typical hard-ass wannabe in bright cringeworthy tights and claim he's badass although he's like the lamest character to exist. Guy is like Dan from street fighter, he's a joke. But then you get the real edgy Asian male anti heroes like scorpion, Sub Zero, snake eyes, Jin kazama, Ryu Hayabusa etc. Despite some characters being only in video games there are real genuine likeable Asian heroes that are naturally cool without trying. You gotta know where to look.

I don't know, IDW had an amazing Transformers series that lost a ton of momentum when they decided to start the "Hasbro-verse" and forced GI Joe into the equation.

What I'd like is Marvel to buy ROM Space Knight and Micronauts off Hasbro since theyre the ones who penned those stories and they were part of the Marvel 616 comic universe in a big way too (Micronauts realm aka the Microverse is the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man / Avengers Endgame, the Micronauts used to team up with Nick Fury, the Avengers and the Fantastic Four, Baron Karza is like one of Marvel's best written villains, and Bug from the Micronauts was once a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and ROM is a cyborg who hunts down Dire Wraiths which are modified super Skrulls which coulda been blended into Captain Marvel movies and Secret Invasion)
There were talks a few years ago of Hasbro planning some sort of "Hasbro cinematic universe", and since it's a big trend right now I guess it's not out of the question for that to happen.

Obviously this the greatest movie of all time. The best trailer ive ever seen. So faithful to the source material yet so different. You can tell the moment you see its just like the Baroness action figure, just like Snakes Eyes from the comic, that's Storm Shadow from the cartoon. Finally a real GI Joe Origins: Snake Eyes movie and not a ashamed- of-the-source-material Fast and Furious John Wick clone.

Andrew Kojis eyes are INCREDIBLE. He's super fine. He's also a great actor. This movie would be nothing without him. I was craving a bit more violence though. Iko is also awesome but they didn't show case his talents like they do in the indonesian films. I much prefer the realistic gory violence and fighting in those films as opposed to these Hollywood ones. These guys are incredible to watch if filmed right. I loved the series Warrior on HBO and movies like The Raid 2 & The night comes for us. Hollywood needs to step up their game when it comes to filming violence. Let's get gritty and gruesome and cool it with all the superhero shit.
