Reason why I didn't see it in the theater. Just saw it from amazon prime. And boy literally there was nothing else about the movie worth seeing. You see Matt Smith in it and you think, okay maybe, just maybe, there is something here. Nope. He was literally only in it for a min and there wasn't anything cool about it besides copying Resident Evil movie.

3DaiYo4Kai56 Well, the fact that now john connor is no longer human, which pretty much destroy the whole John Connor saves human from machines is out the window since his a machine now. So I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the machine clone John Connors and then made him into a cyborg, to after ugh, his mom or girl friend who freaking knows and why would it go after it, Since John was the key to it all.
So with that said I'm betting that the real John Connor will send something back at the end of the movie which will destroy the clone John Connors, and or re tool him to integrate himself with the old terminator, there by creating a new plot twist and a new movies.
Call me crazy but at this point anything can happen. Since killing John Conner was the number one objective and now his a Cyborg in cahoots with cyberdine then why is he going back?
So I'll say that the girl friend create a new lifeforms sort like John Connors but looks like Arnold, and this piece of shit goes on to destroy skynet.

Real plot twist: Fox secretly bought the Terminator franchise, the machines work on behalf of Galactus. Sarah, Kyle, and the T-800 have to team up with the Fantastic Four to defeat John/Silver Surfer and the T-1000.

I really like how the time paradox is finally catching up with them.
I saw the movie and it was good, but DAMMIT everyone can agree, Terminator: Genisys would've been a whole lot better if they *DIDN'T* spoil that twist in the trailer.
It's like this: If Darth Vader said "I am your father" in the *Trailer*, would you have loved The Empire Strikes Back as much as you did? That's how bad it was for Terminator Genisys.

MalcolmRandall Not just that, but the whole thing where Sarah Connor was made aware of her role in overthrowing SkyNet FAR earlier than '84 was ruined as well. You know what they SHOULD have put in the trailer? The reasoning behind the use of "Genisys" in the title. They could've hinted at the new timeline, but throwing it in your face spoiled A LOT that would've been fun to go in blind to. All in all, I thought it was a really good addition to the series, and ultimately earned its place among T1 and T2. Maybe it wasn't as "revolutionary" as either of the first two, but if you take off your nostalgia-colored glasses, it holds up extraordinarily well against the "originals", especially in the writing department.
MalcolmRandall that's what could ruin the two sequels planned for Terminator Genisys, the wrong promotion.
I really liked this film and I want the two sequels to exist and I know a lot more people that want the same as me.
I admit that I'm not someone who likes the restarts of big sagas changing things...but Terminator Genisys changed my mind. I went exited to the cinema and also afraid but I ended up loving the film.
So I think it would be a real shame if they don´t make the sequels 'cause I think there's more to be told of this new begining....as Sarah says: "everything has changed"

This franchise has been killed by flash and awe, it needs to be rebooted as a dark, dystopian plot driven drama that is highlighted with sci-fi action. The should seriously consider their casting too, do the Kyle Reese or John Connor characters really look like they have grown up warrior survivors of a post apocalyptic war? Nope, they look like manicured pretty boys from the valley in makeup.
Either get a skilled director to reboot the franchise properly or leave it alone, said no one on hollywood ever

Terminator always followed the "nothing can change" logic of time travel. that no matter how much you travel or try to change the course of actions, they will always end up the same. I'm really looking forward to the "chewbakka chronicles" starring matt damon and gwyenth paltrow, the casting looks great (not that it matters they're all dressed in hairy suits) but the story line is fabulous and the twist half way through is just mind blowing 10/10
If you want more terminator, the series (Sarah connor chronicles) is friggin amazing. I wasn't convinced at first, but it develops into a fantastic story with compelling characters

This was a huge criticism for Terminator 2. The film presents Arnold being the good guy like a plot twist because beforehand it completely seems like he's a bad guy. That's why Robert Patrick was wearing a cop uniform, to throw people off. Except the trailers revealed that Arnold was the good guy WAY before the film and this is essentially the same thing. They made the same mistake again!
There is so much stacked against this film, and if they had kept this twist under wraps, I'm pretty sure it would have blown all our collective minds, even if the movie is average or sub-par and kept people talking about this movie for a while. Seriously, John Connor would have been the last person you expect to be a Terminator and I just...I'm so disappointed they spoiled this for me.
I hope it pans out like the JJ Abrams Trek, where it's a decent reboot. The trailer is weird tho. Feels like fan fiction. Am still optimistic. Guarded, but optimistic. Not as hyped as I used to be.

SupernaturalMonkey There's still the potential for this all to work out, we may be missing key elements of this plot yet. But I do think this 2nd trailer has made it look unnecessarily complicated and will turn off some folks. I thought the first trailer was brilliantly done, showing that they were doing something akin to what JJ's first Star Trek did with that timeline. If they simply had to show John Connor back in our time, I wish they'd made it a brief reveal rather than the centerpiece of the trailer. Just enough to give us the "OMGWTFBBQ!!1!" moment instead of a "Seriously guys, WTF smh..." moment.

I swear, fans of the Terminator franchise are the most negative and critical of any movie franchise. No sequel has been as good as T2, and never will be, that doesn't mean it won't be a good action flick.
DrizzlingDrizzlers a close second to a sequel being better is Dark Knight. I found it better than Batman Begins and much better than Rises. Rambo II was also better than First Blood

It's actually hard to think of sequels that were better than the first. I can tell you what I think was the worst sequel in history. Son of the Mask. The original Jim Carrey movie to me was a classic. The second one was embarrassing.

LeathalRaid I can see where you're coming from. But when you consider that most movie trailers always put the best bits in to try and make the movie look as exciting as possible, this doesn't bode well in this case.
LeathalRaid I would say they criticize it because this was their childhood and they refuse to go with the times, the incredibly greedy, materialistic times where the quality of art is tossed out the window for sheer profit, but nevertheless, the times.
Well David think about it like this.. Trailer is the cover and the movie is the story. Yea u read the cover and people judge it. But you will never truly know how good the movie or book is without watching or reading the whole thing. Not just the trailer or book cover.

julia aguilar Actually according to the story, sometime after the events when John originally sent Kyle to the past and all the events of the movies happen and stuff, John is eventually killed by Skynet, so I'm guessing the director decided to incorporate that into the movies now. So skynet probably killed John or captured him, then made him into whatever the hell it is hat appears in this trailer.

b75s Another X-Men movie is needed. You're forgetting that theres more to X-men than what is shown in the movies. The third one was bad, yes, but recently the movies have been getting better. Not rewatchable, but better. They just need new writers who actually knows something about the comics.

They'll never top the magic from T2. Rendering one scene took a month, so they put their hearts and souls into each and every frame.

How the hell does this movie jive with the previous Terminator movies? Kyle Reese goes back in time, to before John is born, but there's a terminator already there, but it isn't THE terminator from the first movie? Then, John Connor becomes a terminator and goes back in time to kill his own mother before he's even born? What?

JJ Tru I pray that someone today would make an action movie the same way T1 was made. That real Terminator they built for T1 is still the greatest visual effect in the whole franchise, with T2's T-1000 in a close second. I think it's hopeless though.
