I agree it's Dalot. One thing that stands out to me about his defensive attitude is how much he benefitted from Martinez's arrival; his spell in Milan helped him improve in defense technically and tactically, but when Licha came in and started defending like a pitbull, it quickly rubbed off on Dalot and he's the first that started celebrating the defensive actions. Dalot is the only one who maintains that defensive attitude and intensity when Martinez doesn't play

Before I clicked the video I knew that Dalot would have my vote, people talking about needing players to lead by example and set the standard for the squad, he’s been the player this season to do that. I think we look to Licha for that most of the time but Dalot has been fantastic at it, what I love most is he just seems to get what United is about, he’s bought into the club 100% and he’s just one of us now! Probably the best at that for us since Ander Herrera left, I love the guy!

If Dalot repeats this next season, he easily slots into the world class category.
He's been exceptional. My favorite player from the moment he put on the number 20 under Jose.
What this tells me is that we need to be patient with players and allow them to develop, especially if they are young.
He came in at 19 years old and it's only now that he's finding himself as a player. Years later. And we have him for the next 5/6 years.

Normally agree with your takes Ste, but did everyone forget the first half of the season (maybe first 3/8ths) where a boatload of our goals were concede due him directly or indirectly? His man scoring or putting in the pass or cross to score - even if he was not at fault for the build up his defensive mistakes were bad.
Let's also not forget in games, where we need to win, he's often just has pot shots from silly yards out multiple times, when there is a pass on, just because he once scored worldie from outside, those passes could have won us a game or two. I can't forget that and was absolutely seething with him at the start of year. Garno is the man for me this season, proved he's not a flash in the pan and will likely progress year-on-year now.

Dalot is more consistent and offers more allrounf in his game for me its got to be Scott... his stepped up and his getting the hate or unappreciation from fans yet keeps his mouth shut and continues to do what he has done... His possibly the least technically gifted but his given 120% for the badge and the whole "he gets it" point for dalot can be applied to him... Theres a reason that even though he may not have the ability to be a starting player why he ends up showing up in all managers starting XI when the going gets tough his an exempliry proffessional who takes stick from fans yet delivers for them... Imo he cant be sold because the jobs and roles his given no one would be happy and still fight the way he does for the badge while being a team player and super sub... Dalots definatly been more consistent average and above average but scotts given game changing moments and season defining too when the teams needed a saviour rarely been casemiro hojlunds injurys marcus' form his stepped up and put the ball in the back of the net more then he ever did or needed too for me If i were to rank it... Scott Dalot Mainoo Garnacho and then Varane

Onana second half of the season, definitely improved massively. Dalot is the man this season, agree, he’s been consistent and with the right support he has developed into a quality player, kudos to EtH for that. Be a dream for Hojlund and Mainoo but I think too soon for player of the season.

Difficult not to improve chucking the ball in your net constantly for three months. Nowhere near player of the year, not even near played well.

It’s Dalot and it’s not even that close. Garnacho potentially young player of the year. Mainoo, Evans, Hojlund most definitely need a mention but injuries have hampered their claim.
