I also wanted to add that by the end of the story Susie's eyes become noticeable. Like, she doesn't hide her face.
Whereas Kris doesn't reveal their eyes once. They haven't pulled through. They haven't brought themselves out of a facade of some sort.

But besides that, I find it really cute that Kris can still "see" Susie's expression even with the hair in her sprite's face after the dark world. It really shows how much Kris has come to know Susie.
I know this was a year ago, but I just wanted to point out that Kris shows one of his eyes right after ripping his soul out of his body. (The glowing, red eye)
This could mean that they are themselves again, now that they aren't under the player's control.
We can see kris eye in chapter 2 when they transform to the dark world but just for some frames

Adding on, there's something I noticed a while ago. In Undertale it's started, more than once I think, that stripes are only worn by children. At the time I wasn't sure whether Kris was in middle or high school. But then it hit me. None of their classmates are wearing stripes. Even Temmie, who in Undertale wears stripes, didn't in Deltarune. This fact is a great example of their regression. They refuse to grow up and let go

What if... Kris used to talk, but no longer talks due to Asriel being gone?

Asriel being gone is very recent, he will be back from university the next weekend for the firsts vacations of the year, so it's been only weeks he's gone ; though Kris probably was thinking about the soon-to-be absence of Asriel during all summer and even before when he was probably planning to find an apartment and all stuff like that.
Him talking more is on the contrary what surprises people at the end of the game.
Rudy Holiday says that before he was just the creepy kid next door (despite being a friend of his family long before Asriel even was born) so he never was very talkative even once he started loving his new family (maybe with the exception of Asriel, but not regarding his problems ; even by being more talkative with Asriel he probably didn't even told him that he didn't wanted him to leave).
He's silent on what happened to him prior to being with the Dreemurr, on how he feels with Asgore and Toriel divorcing, and on how he feels about Asriel being gone (we know that for sure since Toriel is not worried in the slightest for Kris, after all it's just normal for Asriel not to be here and he'll be back every vacation, pretty normal stuff).
He keeps things to himself and this make things to built-up fast and emotional moments to be very intense.
The Dreemurrs used to come together at the cafe every Saturday and order the special.
Now that Asgore and Toriel are separated, Kris and Asriel used to keep coming every Saturday to take hot chocolate together and draw on the window with their breath.
Now Kris can get hot chocolate on the house, and drinking it informs us more of how he feels.
It tastes wonderful but his throat tighten (quote "Your throat tightened..." the dots says a lot, not the temperature doing that).
With the connection with Asriel, it's not Toriel's pie that's Kris's favorite food despite him eating all of it, it's this hot chocolate usually shared with Asriel.
Yet, unrelated to past traumas, and with Asriel's absence being pretty normal, drinking this is now the heaviest sad thing he can suffer from ; inside he feels the same way he would do if Asriel was gone forever.

just wanna bring up that I have PTSD from appendicitis when I was nine. I had all of the named symptoms, and I was holding back tears this whole time. Neat!
I have PTSD symptoms from a hurricane that came through my city (wasn't the first one I had been in, but was the first to flood my house) and have panic attacks when it rains or the wind is loud. Brains are silly tools sometimes.

Jevil has completely detached from the world now that he sees it as a game.
Kris put their heart in a cage to keep it safe, thus "locking away everyone else" that could hurt it and making it "free" from everyone else, and as long as Kris keeps it in there, it "can't be killed."
Jevil undoubtedly represents Kris in some way. It would be really cool if the theme of all the future Jevil-equivalent secret bosses was that they each represented a different aspect of Kris.

honestly even when i saw the ending i still went "there is no way kris is gonna end up being the villain" because alot of the stuff they do is similar to stuff i used to do as a kid, i'd distance from myself from others, have weird interests and habits, and would often be more quiet when in public. so in my personal opinion, kris may have a combination of autism and ptsd. perhaps maybe either from asgore and toriel divorcing, maybe a situation with their birth parents [ in the case that there are still other humans in the deltarune universe ] or maybe asriel leaving to college [ possibly the ladder because it seems that toriel does still allow kris to see asgore whenever they want and sometimes people with autism find comfort with certain things or even certain people so maybe when asriel left it made them more stressed about whatever their situation was ] and if they do have ptsd, if it's caused by their birth parents it may tie into if they do have autism, since in some cases parents will abandon or abuse their child simply because their neurodivergent, so it could be a case of that. and kris pulling out the knife at the end and having the smile, it could be them just finally being able to be themselves, maybe whatever caused their ptsd made them afraid of doing what they like in public so during the night, that's the only time they feel like they can be themselves. and since in chapter 2's start it's revealed they didn't even do anything bad and they simply ate the pie toriel made while she was sleeping it's just more proof that they just may be neurodivergent. i say this because yeah i would do the same things, i would pretend to do scary stuff like being ominous for fun, i'd often do stuff on my phone at my house only because i was too afraid that my teachers or peers would think i was weird, and even try to cope with past trauma through creating what i like. so yeah, seeing people say "OH KRIS IS EVIL THEY DID THIS!" just.... no, they haven't done anything truly evil, they may have done scary things but just doing scary things is not the same as being evil, they haven't hurt anyone physically, they never showed any intent on harming anyone even when they ripped out their own soul, they're just a troubled kid trying to cope whatever way they can.
this is by far my favourite deltarune theory out there.

What if Susie also has PTSD, and they're the friends who get each other through it? Susie also struggles in school and is a loner, has some angry outbursts and some times where she barely reacts, and the only coping skill she has is to fight. The story also emphasizes her being hungry at multiple points. Seems to me like she's a neglected or abused kid who needs a friend just as bad as Kris does.
Also (confirmed I mat's video) Susie is poor, meaning she gets defensive because she's doesn't want other people to find out and bully her.
Lancer could be a doppelgänger of Susie and how even though susie tries to be tough, she really doesn’t want to be.

i think i have PTSD never tested it however but i do had some traumatic experiences and i do have anger outbursts and sometimes feeling of being weak. but also feeling determined to fight against that wants to make me weaker.

Not really. She says she wants to go back to the closet again. If anything, snapping him out of it would be the worse thing to do as it was the only way Kris could deal with his trauma, whatever it may have been.

I myself suffer from PTSD, so I decided to show this video to my personal Susie (her name's Alice). At first, she didn't understand why I showed her this video about a weird video game apparently starring a sociopath. But when we reached the end, she took me in her arms and we cried together. And that was just a beautiful moment.

In Undertale Asriel mentioned many times that Chara was "the only one who understands him", so that sorta implies that Chara was also that kind of super kind unselfish kid that always been bullied for that by literally everyone around them, oftenly including their closest family(I had my own experience of such kind). There’s 2 things that everyone that watches this video NEEDS TO KNOW:
1. DO NOT use this video to diagnose yourself or others.
2. DO NOT assume that everyone who suffers from PTSD carries around a weapon or has violent tendencies.
My mother was a psychopath (I’m not just saying this, I have spoken with professionals) and my father was an abusive enabler. I was unloved, unwanted, and abused by my parents since birth. The only reason that they kept me around was to use me as a slave and an “emotional punching bag.” I have had PTSD my entire life and only escaped from them a year ago. Every professional that I’ve spoken to (there have been 2, only changed because I moved to another state) has been amazed, and quite honestly, baffled, that I’m even functional (and not suicidal).
If you are being abused, I beg of you, don’t wait for someone to save you. No one ever saved me. Seek help. Save yourself.
Expanding on the points above:
1. If you, or someone you know, is experiencing the symptoms listed in this video then please speak with someone or gently encourage the person you know to speak with someone. PTSD requires a professional diagnosis, not a website or video. Just because you’re experiencing several symptoms in this video doesn’t mean that you have PTSD. Conversely, just because there are several symptoms that you’re not experiencing, doesn’t mean you don’t have PTSD. As shown here, symptoms can vary by age, but many other factors contribute as well (such as the type of trauma, how old you were when the trauma occurred, etc.)
You don’t need to suffer silently.
2. Despite the severity and length of the abuse I suffered; I have never carried around a weapon, threatened anyone with a weapon, or attacked anyone. Feeling the need to carry a weapon or have violent tendencies is not a required symptom of PTSD. Yes, a lot of people with PTSD experience this but not EVERYONE with PTSD does. If someone shares with you that they have PTSD (which can be a very difficult thing to do!) then PLEASE DO NOT treat them like they’re an armed criminal.

Chara wasn't evil in Undertale anyway. They could *become* such, but it only happens if you force them and Frisk to murder their way through the Underground. Otherwise they just kinda... did their thing
