I recently watched a video by a scientist, called on the internet professor Dave explains, and he made a video telling people the earth isnβt flat, he was responded by armies of βflat earthersβ telling him he was wrong by telling him unchecked stuff, and he responded to a video made by that community debunking the video they made to try and debunk him, proving valid arguments, and showing when HE put good arguments up to them they just laughed it off and spouted a random equation or scientifically proven law that they didnβt go into at all.

I find it personally amazing that this is a concept that is being seriously argued. To certain minds, however, scientific proof has no meaning - most likely because the wherewithal to grasp even basic scientific concepts are seriously lacking. Best way to manage these confrontations is to smile and nod because it is not worth alienating close friends and relatives over. Be kind and compassionate and change the subject!

The problem is that people as depicted in the video are not constrained by logic, facts and evidence, they can make up any version of the truth they want, so any logic is countered by nonsense masked as truth. If they can't think of a retort, there is always the "LIES/CONSPIRACY" response, which is apparently the ultimate answer to everything. This is why we need science, it drags us kicking and screaming towards the truth.
Regarding the point in the video about horizons. If the Earth were flat, you wouldn't be able to see objects hundreds of miles away. Scattering of light by the atmosphere would reduce the contrast between the object and the atmosphere as the object recedes, so eventually the contrast of the object would be too low to see with our eyes.
Some of them are just trolls, we call it "ATTENTION SEEKER".

There are a number of things flat-earthers cannot provide and the top two I can think of right off the bat are; 1. They cannot explain a solar or lunar eclipse using a flat-earth model with factual science (measurable and observable). 2. They have no working model of a flat earth that provides exact, measurable distances including all continents, countries and bodies of water in between. They can't. This has already been proven, yet they seem to think a spherical earth is some sort of conspiracy theory despite the overwhelming evidence otherwise.
The same can be said about Globeheads trying to decipher unproven Gravity and a Wet Spinning Ball hurtling throigh space on a mission to nowhere.

I can give 5 reasons why the Earth is round!
One: we would have to throw gravity as we know it out the window
Two: if the earth were flat we couldnβt observe things like an eclipse, or comets!
Three: we would not have seasons like spring summer fall and winter
Four: we would not be able to observe time as we presently do!
Five: we would not observe the sun rise or set!!!

The most common argument flat earthers give for why things fall is funnier that what this guy's mom said in the video... They think somehow buoyancy causes things to fall down when there's nothing to suggest why down is down and now up, left, or sideways... except for gravity.
