From Season 6 Episode 12 "Scott's Tots": Michael (Steve Carell) is forced to face the music after he realizes he can't keep a promise he made to a group of kids 10 years ago. Meanwhile, Jim (John Krasinski) starts an employee of the month program to increase employee morale.
In a bid to get Jim fired, Dwight decides to rig the votes of the employee-of-the-month scheme.

Most underrated thing here is Dwight likely knew Jim would take away camping and survival skills and did that so Jim would still feel it was his fault even if he suspected Dwight rigged the data.

Jim is somehow incredibly bad under pressure when it comes to anything serious.

It was easy to get out of this. Say the numbers were provided to him by Dwight. That he never asked Dwight to collect cash from the other employees. And that he never ordered a cake.

I think this shows the turn in writing in later seasons. In early seasons everyone wouldn't get so angry at this, when it is clearly a mistake. Kinda unreasonable and unrealistic.
