The Office tends to kind of romanticize corporate and work culture; sure, it's boring, but there are good friends and memories, and you can make a living off it that is sufficient to pursue your happiness. These scenes are important to remind us that not every boss is a Michael Scott, who cares about us on a personal level, they are perfectly willing to fire you on a moment's notice, and will rarely acknowledge your contribution, if ever. No one is indispensable, everyone is expendable.

I love how Michael supports his team and has their back. He doesn't want any of them to get fired. The scene at the beginning with Dwight is a prime example 😂😂

The whole exchange between Michael and Jan during the unionizing bit is severely underrated. Michael's "We have a history" line is perfectly executed. All of it, really.

I can't imagine how many takes it took Pam to keep a straight face, when Michael turned to her and said "can I help you?"
And then when Michael's feelings are hurt after Jan delivers the "what do you think... The.... Pros.... Are.... Here???

12:49 This scene always make me tear up a little bit for Micheal. He putts in 15 years of service at DM with out missing more than a couple days & even had David’s back in the Jan firing lawsuit, but David gets his new VP of sales hire to be the blocker middle man between him & Micheal in order to avoid speaking.
Steve acted this scene out flawlessly.
