This is where Lingerie football takes over.

Soon it's gonna be like Sarcastaball in South Park 😭
lingerie football is where this happens the most so if anythin you want it removed to be less like lingerie football dummy X,D. Also if lingerie football can manage to tackle people without using the other persons hips like monkey bars. But grown ass men cant then that's just pathetic on the grown ass mens part.
X League (formerly lingerie fball league) actually tackles. The women's league is way more aggressive... I think I'm going to switch to watching that and reminisce about when the NFL was actually football.
The league is ruined now 😢 might as well let women play.
I feel like no matter how you tackle someone, there will always be a chance someone gets hurt when they fall onto fake grass covered concrete.
I mean, even flag football has injuries! No one will watch football if they keep this stuff up! We tried the whole “knocker ball” thing, but it was a phase we went through. No one wants to watch men covered in bubble wrap.
The “unweighted” part is what gets me. So offensive players can use their body weight and momentum to run someone over, but a defensive player can’t use body weight to counter that?
Nah bro.
They are looking for professor X.
“Mind tackles”.
No. You can, you just can't throw your body weight over someone's legs while you are just hanging on them by their torso.
This rule has been in place for years on both rugby union and rugby league, and it's likely coming from how much doctors have learned from those rule changes.
@@brandfbr no it hasn't still legal in rugby union and only banned in league last year, but it won't hurt the game to get rid of it. these same guy made the argument a few years ago that any player would rather a high shot to the head than a tackle targeting the knee or lower leg...... well......here it is!

From what I read on the hip drop tackle that clip that you are mentioning shouldn't be considered one
The first one is though that exact tackle doesn't happen often it's apparently about once a game... But an injury occurs from it once a week
So it barely happens but causes injury at a high rate. The issue is less banning it and more not knowing EXACTLY what it is.. The flags could get stupid because the clip you referred to you are right that is not a "hip drop tackle"

(3) fails to proceed to drop their knees to the floor away from the defenders body.

This is exactly why I quit watching football a couple years ago. The game people creating the rules have completely ruined the game to where the only thing that matters to them is offense. The first one I can see how that move is going to blow out someone’s knee every time. The others though kind of looked like normal tackles. Exactly! Bring. Back. Form. Tackle. Orig football
Same. Next, players will go low and tackle legs. Right now they don't because its more successful to tackle the body. But now you risk personal fouls on upper body and middle body type tackles.
Blown out knees and ankles.
The context of this tackle doesn’t even make sense with what you said. These tackles happen when someone is behind the person or laterally attacking them before they run away from them.. it’s not unreasonable to tell defenders to not drop all of their weight on the runners heels and rather run their feet to complete the tackle.. drop your whole body weight after grabbing someone isn’t a tackle it’s pull them down and creates a dangerous situation in almost every instance that it is used.
It's a tackle. Might as well give them all flags at this point. NFFL, National flag football league.
The problem is that even if they sign a waiver. It does not absolve you of knowing of a hazard and not doing something about. So the problem is that after they implement this, is that it will now highlight injuries of another type, then it will be known and legislated out and the cycle will continue.
Funny how this gets unanimously agreed under the idea of player safety, But the league hasn’t done anything about turf fields because of saftey.

That South Park episode is feeling real eerie right about now
I like Pat’s take where players have to sign a waiver stating that they understand there is a possibility of severe injury before they sign their NFL contract
It's not about injuries to everyone. It's injuries to star NFL players. They don't want the star offensive players not playing. All of this started when it happened to Mahomes in the previous season. Then a few more high profiles players this year also got injured by it. NFL doesn't care when it happens to a non-QB or non-star RB/WR. When it happens to a star player, that's when it's a problem.
@@MahjikM3 They also changed the rules to make it more likely to get penalized for QB hits/tackles after Brady missed an entire season.
@@MahjikM3 No, it actually happened in 2008 when Brady got hit in the legs and tore his ACL. Then Rodgers broke his collarbone on a sack in 2012 and since then, QB protection has been at the forefront of rule changes and safety protocols. Also, the commissoner and owners do want higher scores. It's not an consipracy even. There have been multiple focus group studies that showed higher scores are more exciting and reel in more general fans. The typical football fan and the die-hards will always be there. It's about customer reach. That's why they embraced Taylor Swift so much. It gets higher viewership and football has suceeded basketball and baseball as the prime sports entertainment. Sports bets have an major influence on this, too. Injured Superstars mean less chances and huge swings shortly before games. Madden culture is another contributing factor. There are many young folks (no disrespect) who just don't remember 90s and 2000s football anymore, let alone the game of the 70s and 80s. They'll see, though, football will be really bad very soon. A lot of mediocrity is already there. Officiating is gonna be an even more decisive factor than it already is. A lot of drives will extend due to BS calls or rather BS rules.
@@zein9227 My comment was referencing the specific tackle that the new rule is for.. Brady's was not a Hip Drop Tackle, it was diving at the QB below the knees. I do agree with you that the additional QB protections started there.

As a psychologist who has also played rugby, I agree with a lot of the brain safety rules. Brain damage is absolutely deviating. And I think it’s very easy to say - ahh, well, just sign a waiver, when you don’t really understand how severely it can impair you.
However, this “hip drop” rule is ridiculous. And, unlike the brain safety stuff, there really isn’t another way to achieve the same goal. You can teach (most) people not to lower their heads, but this rule is really going to impair the game.
It feels like something that was created by a group of people who have never played sports.
There's nothing wrong with this type of tackle, and we're not seeing this as the cause of too many injuries in rugby. Fewer people come off the pitch on test match rugby than in the NFL, and they are playing 40 minute halves without interruption, no pads, a lot more physically fit and stronger builds. The NFL is all built around bursts of action and speed, they just can't accept that this is the source of the injuries i.e. part of the game, they have to blame it on tackling. Was tackling the reason Aaron Rodgers tore his ACL?
The over the top concussion reactions is dishonest. It never gets brought up that the type of people who play football are the kids, teenagers, and adults who end up with concussions OUTSIDE football as well. The dishonestly takes away from seriousness of injury game concussions.
soft people like you destroyed the game.
