- Hello, I thought this would be one of the first video to come out after discover university anounced servos but life happens, this is a not so brief comparison of Servos, Simbots and Plumbots in The Sims, I was meant to call this robots but if I were to mention every robot this video would never end.
Servos are humanoid robots, and they've come a long way, from a simple object kinda like bonehilda all the way to a playable life state, fun fact, Simbots are the predecessors of Simbots while Plumbots are their successors, given that Sims 3 is set in the past but plumbots are from the future.
Anyways, what do you think about servos? Do you like them?
My opinion:
Sims 1 Servos were basically a very convenient object, once you had them they replace almost every service, they're very useful and barely break so that's a big plus.
Sims 2 were a lot like Sims themselves, but Sims that couldn't get near water, they were a neat addition and I see they evolved from Sims 1, from now on they'll be playable and I like them better this way, I like little details like them wearing formal attire, their breakdown is the most consequential and they help around with free will.
Sims 3's were a very interesting twist, when Simbots arrived I barely used them, I thought they were interesting enough but they barely played different than Sims, but Plumbots are a whole other deal since they have interesting gameplay, they feel different enough from Sims but remain as playable. I also really enjoy the fact that you can customize them way more than the rest.
Sims 4's Servos were kind of a step down from plumbots (which makes sense in the lore) and they were fun additions but I didn't find myself playing with them a lot, once you unlock all the enhancements they're basically Sims who may assist you, it's cool that they have a unique death tho, also, I like their animation and how their eyes reflect their emotion.
So for me, it's not Sims 3 but Plumbots that won, but that's just my opinion, what do you guys think? Which is your favorite iteration?

One small detail I always loved about the Sims 3 Plumbots was that if you were a celebrity and traveled to the future, the paparazzi was usually a Plumbot with a camera-shaped head. It was always funny to think that the paparazzi of the future were replaced by walking, talking cameras.
Also the police where robots too. Robocop!

The Sims 2 Servos are adorable, Sims 4 are just flat out cool, and it's clear that whoever was in charge of the Sims 3 robots actually watched the animated movie: Robots. XD

I had forgotten they were in Sims 1, I remember they were really expensive in the electronics section of the buy menu, so I didn't really put them unless I used the money cheat.
Sims 3 Plmbots are soooo fun to play with and can be so unique with the chips. They are the best ones yet!
SIms 4 Servos are good too, but their modules can't compare to the system in the Sims 3. It was so deep.
It's the same as traits in The Sims 3 vs. The Sims 4. TS4 just can't deal with complex personalities.

The best Thing about sims 3s Plumbots is that you can costumize their bodyparts!
The trait chips were such a good idea though, I miss them. Along with the plumbot customization made for a lot of unique robots.
Well, canonically plumbots are the latest model of robots in sims universe, so it wouldn't make sense for previous bots to be customisable
Sims 4 is another universe which explains why they look much more futuristic than other simbots

I remember how scared I was of the Sims 2 bots when I was younger! Especially when they were vampires...
I never played with the bots/servos of Sims 3 unfortunately.

I have yet to play with the Plumbots in Sims 3 but they look the most fun out of all the versions. The Servo breaking down in Sims 2 is the funniest lmaoo.

This made me realize... Sims 4 doesn't have random meteor or satellite deaths. We deserve random meteor and/or satellite deaths while sky-gazing/star gazing!

In general, sims 4 deaths are quite weird - when you try to kill a sim on purpose, it never works, but if you just let them do their thing - boom! Fire, deadly embarrassment, overheating, drowning.

They're so good in every version. They're different, but they have their strong points.
In The Sims 3 we have whole expansion pack about the future, so that's obvious robots are the best in TS3

Honestly, I think they gave us plumbot in itf because they kind of realize simbot only has small difference with Sims... Plumbot definitely one of the best robot in the Sims universe for me, with chips and stuffs, they give gameplay mechanic and storytelling purpose too, and unlike plumbot, whose gameplay mechanic kind of non existent after you make them, the gameplay doesn't stop just at when you Made them. Simbot still provide interesting storytelling elements tho.

Yep, EA did good with the plumbots. TS3's level of customization was godsent; they should've never taken that feature away for TS4.
I love these videos, they make me so nostalgic for TS1 and TS2.

According to lore that was between first 3 games Simbots are the first version, Servos are second and Plumbots are third.
Storyline of the Sims:
The Sims 3 > The Sims 1 > The Sims 2 > The Sims 3 into the Future
The Sims 4 is another universium.
So first was Simbots>Servobots and next in the future Plumbots.

The Sims 2 servo dying by running with scissors has to be honestly one of the best deaths possible in the Sims.
You notice how Sims 4 lacks traits when even Plumbots in Sims 3 have 20 different traits available 🤭

I really hate the idea of robot ghosts and robots needing to eat.
I like to think the robot ghost are projected holograms that shares the servo's memories and personalities

Props to you for always recreating the enviroment from the Sims 1 to the Sims 4 succesfully. And not just that, but the outfits and hairstyles.
Sims 1 servos honestly look really cool, and they really add a challenge to the game (cause you can’t control them)

I remember when I played the Sims 2, I had a mod that could let me change the appearance of my sims and I found out it worked on the servos too, so all the robots in my game looked like different people, but they still acted and talked like robots, an interesting thing I found out was the adult Android Servos still charged in the sun, but teenage Android Servos charged by sleeping, not sure what caused the difference but that's how it was.
12:37 at Mod the sims, there is a sims 2 Game mod that is called "Waterproof Servos". That mod prevent Servos from being harmed by water. (There is also one called "Servos Recharge By Moonlight" it makes them regain their power need at night as well as day). With those two mods the sims 2 Servos has become VERY much more resilient then normal.

@@nichsa8984 I play Sims 2 with a mod that makes Servos look like Human Sims. Max Mechanical skill is a requirement to build one in S2.

Humans are a species of sim. Vampires, werewolves, spellcasters, aliens, mermaids, fairies, etc. are all species of sims, and human is one of those species. On the sims 3 you can choose species in CAS and "human" is one of them.

I always thought the word "sim" replaces the word "human", since the game rarely called them human for obvious reasons. That's why I got creeped out a bit when suddenly they use the word "human".
The funny thing is the Simbots are basically human sims in the body of a robot, they are practically cyborgs who are already sentient whereas Plumbots despite being an upgrade have to achieve sentience.

17:34 little note for this. Servo will die by catastrophic meltdown by electrocuting him three times, which may leads to death. Not only death, but overcharged a servo three times can be lead a fatal electric shock.

Simbot ghost is a mysticism stuff, at least according to William Blake on the existence of soul that is also the body. Since they have 'human interaction' need, I think that's how they gain the psyche other than being sentience, which later become a soul, somehow...

@@Microsoft-Excel-2010 not exclusively Asian, but of course that kind of believe and its practice still exist, at least here in Southeast Asia. The origin of that idea I suppose come from animism ('anima' means something like 'the spirit'), a worldview which states that everything contains a spirit, but doesn't mean everything had to be 'animated' like living being or strictly live like an organism. More like everything in natural world is sacred because of the spirit.

I'll always have a soft spot for the Sims 2 Servos. They were always my top priority in Gen 1 families so I could have at least one person to watch over the family line basically forever.
Strictly speaking, not the same situation, as incest isn't relevant, but one could consider it as taking advantage of the bot when they're young and naive or otherwise as an uneven power dynamic that the creator might be abusing/using to exploit the robot. I can see why it might make someone uncomfortable: the robot is a person and not an object to be used.
Two tiny details that i love about Sims 3
-The Sim that creates the bot haves the best reaction from all the games, it just so funny how he goes "Its alive!, ITS ALIVE!"
-Sim bots and plumbots act more like cartoon robots and i like that detail, its just nice to see, they have the most variations and i love how they look

TS4 servos are extremely well-made, personally I think they're the best robots of all The Sims games. The only thing that baffles me about them is that they have to be activated as male or female, because I can't see why that changes them except for the pronoun in third person singular, which could just have been singular "they". Is there any other difference between male and female servos in TS4?
Their voices are the biggest difference and even then you can barely tell

I never really knew too much about Servos, but after this video, I'm obsessed with them!!!
Update: I got Discover University Early, and is now gonna grind to reach and make the servo!!!
New Update 2023: Got Simbots as of the sims 3 ambitions, i haven't gotten into the future yet. I have yet to play sims 2 or sims 1.
Second update: also got into the future, the plumbots look really cool!!!!

While I’ve never played with any other version…I fully believe that Plumbots are superior to every other form of robot in these games…and not just from a lore standpoint, I think they’re also the most fun, with the most customization and immune to water
The Sims 2 Servos where so useful, they would clean, and make meals, and take care of the babies. Just don't let them get wet. Lol
I love how the bot doesn't even run with scissors, it gets scared by it and then checks its *pulse* before death

This was pretty neat I've been playing Sims since the first one. Forgot the first game even had Servos.
I have a soft spot for the Sims 3 Plumbots, I never played ts3 but it was the first lets play sims game I watched when iHasCupquake did her Supernatural/Future lets play and I always loved the Plumbots the most and to this day I wanna get the Sims 3 for Future, Supernatural, and Island Paradise

While I love servos in sims 2 as I hold the game with high regards the Sims 3 Sim/Plum'bots & Sims 4 Servos kinda makes me want to buy the games & the respective pack just to play with them as they are literally my favorite lifestate their so unique for their interactions but finding out they are modular and customizable in sims 3 & 4 it almost tempts me to cave in... almost.
When I played the SIMS2. I had a SIM create a servo it was named Sara. They got married had woo hoo but couldn't have babies. I had to fulfil the male Sims want to have a baby by having him abducted by aliens. He had a baby girl.
It's funny when he woo hoo his servo wife his memory was "woo hoo a servo that was an electrifying experience" 😄

But to compare "servos done as sims", the best ones are in Sims 3. they look so good whith a bit of rust. they can break stuff for scraps, the eat scrap is priceless, they sleep with 0s and 1s (so nerdy!), they flirt with the microwave, hover around. And the robots from Into the future are the closest thing to Sims 1's servos with no fun and social need, plus they have the best cutomization possible with all the body parts and the traits chips that you can buy or build. I also like their special social interactions like plotting against the sims humanity or rant about meatbags :p
Sims 1's Servo is like Bonehilda but more boring.
Sims 2's Servo: Fun little story, my first Sim family got messed up because I didn't realize Tune Up was a romantic interaction, so the husband (who had max Handiness) ended up accidentally cheating on his wife with the Servo.
Sims 3's Servo equivalents: SimBot kind of equal to Servo from Sims 2 (though I like the added detailing and the fact that SimBots have actual gender differences as opposed to the female just being "male, but with comedy makeup and a bow"). Plumbot *freaking amazing*. Love what they did in terms of customizability and personality-options.
Sims 4: I really dislike that they went back to "one body type with a paintjob", but they do have most of the personality from Sims 3 SimBots. I also love that they have a *unique* death by meltdown.
