- Hey everyone, long time no see, here's a very brief comparison of the celebrities in The Sims games, this is the first of these videos where every game is here except Sims 2, why is that? Because Sims 2 has nothing like this, I was gonna just include Sims 3 and Sims 4 but I visited Sims 1 and there was some neat stuff so I thought it'd be nice to show this as an evolution / comparison.
Superstar, Late Night and Get Famous are too different to be compared as a whole so I won't be comparing those packs but I can focus on the small stuff. If I talk about the worlds they introduced it'd be unfair to both Sims 1 and 4 since it's clear the world wasn't their priority, it even feels unfair to compare fame in Sims 3 cause it's clear that wasn't their focus since Late Night added SO MUCH CONTENT it's obvious the fame aspect was just an afterthought. That's why I felt celebrities were the only thing that could begin to be comparable.
That being said
I'm still unsure if I'm going to be making a FAME comparison to compare what fame is like in these games, I have most of it recorded but it's just too much, I'm still unsure if I'll keep working on it until it's shorter, divide it or just leave it at celebrities. If I do upload it it'll be within this month so stay tuned!

My opinion?
Sims 1 felt very competent in this comparison if you ask me, it had some solid interactions as well as celebrities themselves, I like how they made some real life celebrities and even though you can barely distinguish their face it gives a nice touch.
Sims 3 was pretty good, the world they introduced in Late Night is my favorite but talking about celebrities they were...okay. I loved their houses and I was thinking of showcasing them but since Sims 1 had no celebrity homes and Sims 4 had only 2 I dropped it.
Sims 4 combined a little bit of previous games, specially Sims 3, I liked the celebrity interactions and felt they were good enough. I loved the throwbacks to Sims 2 making Dustin and Dirk celebrities.
In conclusion, I have no favorites, it's a perfect tie for me.

Yeah exactly. I thought it was pretty amazing since I’ve never played sims 2. Sims 4 is mind numbing to play because it seems like sims have a generic reaction to everything. Lol

Alex De la Loire lol yeah same. Most of my sims’s children is related due to them having famous parents that sleeps around with everybody. So every family is connected in some way in my game

@@ellaelliott4415 The early sims installment were so well thought out even if technology hasn't caught up yet. Every expansion pack of sims 1 and sims 2 as well as the gameboy games were great!
I've always loved the odd obsession of the Sims' franchise with Avril Lavigne... she's officially in the first game, you can create teens dressed EXACTLY like her in The Sims 2 and a sim looking like her was the top sim for promoting The Sims 3 before it came out... I kinda miss her in Sims 4 now
I didn't know Sims 3 had one but I think they believe she's not that popular anymore and don't use her as much, sadly :(
i remember seeing promotional art for the sims 4 with sims eyes with her eyes in it with three other sims’ eyes too but she might’ve been added in by a fan cus the other three sims were the first ever look into how the graphics and the sims will look like in sims 4 and it was published by the sims team without avril 😔

With gallery you can still get her, it's cheaper too for the devs so they don't have to ask for license to have her in the game.

I remember on the sims 1, when your sims became famous enough. Sometimes a stalker fan would come at their door and gave black roses. He had such a creepy behavior and laugh.

And another time she came through my back door without me inviting her in and that scared the crap out of me.
I have a feeling most people do not know the in depth features and objects the Sims 1 franchise had for its expansions. Do not be fooled by the dated graphics.
Oh and the celebrity system and lot was more enjoyable then The Sims 3 hands down. I have not played much of The Sims 4 Get Famous to speak on it.

the sims 1 is by far the hardest when it comes to celebrities. so hard to make relationships and to win the little puzzle when you do the activities (fashion shows, shoots and etc)

In TS3, you can also buy a lifetime reward called “Map to the Stars”, which lets you see celebrity lots, and even lets you filter the star level. A bummer that you didn't mention it :/

I love the celebrity system in ts3 because it's so easy to be famous for literally nothing. I love making gold digger Sims that just flirt with every celebrity they see to climb the social ladder and live in luxury.

I have a plan for my sims to not become a celebrity at all and just focus on something else (like having many child as possible with every single sims in world xD)..
BOOM didn't even realize my sims already have 3 star just making friend with celebrity and it's pretty fast
Btw there is an option on the setting menu, you can disable your active household for gaining any celebrity points if I'm not mistaken or it's just stop every single sims to gain any celebrity points
In TS3, if you're a celebrity, you also have paparazzi's following you around town, taking pictures, sometimes you'll get free stuff, etc
I remember the disappointment I had when I finally got Bridgeport and all the bars and stuff were just empty. Like there was no point in going anywhere because there were almost never sims in them. I wanted to start a band and jam at clubs and bars and it was depressing the amount of sims there no matter how famous you were.
Yeah, I think it has gotten a bit better over time (at least for me) but back when the expansion came out, it was a ghost town and a total let down, since the trailer showed lots crowded bars
Whenever I play regardless of time or how many packs I played there’s like 1 person in these hotspot bars and sometimes that one sim isn’t even a celebrity and in the “nobody” part of the bar.
That’s one thing I hate about the Sims 3, you hear a lot of talk about the amazing open world but sims are so spread out that even parts of town that are supposed to be lively have like 3 people in them and the “fun” night out I wanted my sim to have to meet new people dies pretty quickly. At least in a closed world nightclubs, bars, really any public lot has plenty of action going on.

Oh really? Did you stayed at the lot for less than 5 min? I recall my bars etc always full of sims, like not right there at the moment, but just when my sim would do something around, like asking for food or playing/dancing, lol
The funniest real life celebrity thing in Sims 1 is when you're having a really great house party, sometimes *Drew Carey* will show up. I don't even care how dated it makes the game look, that's just hilarious.

Ah yes, I remember Freetime; it was one of my least anticipated S2 expansions and turned out to be one of my favourites. It was the same with S3 Showtime; I thought it was just going to be a rehash of Late Night, but in a tropical setting (actually, it kinda was) and I only got it for the genies, but the whole pack was great.

You should make a video about genetics! In sims 2, there were dominant and recessive genes. Also, grandchildrens could inherit certain characteristics from their grandparents. For example, I had two brown sims who had 3 redheaded children because the father's mother had red hair ( so many memories)

It's so hard to become a 5-star celebrity in Sims 4 that it's so fulfilling once you become one, you literally feel like you're on top of the world, or at least that's how I felt lmao. What I don't like is that, unless you turn it off in the settings, almost every other townies in the game become famous and unapproachable for non-famous sims. I remember one of my sims opened a restaurant that had the celebrity hotspot trait, and people like Bella Goth were coming in being 3-stars even though all she does is work at S.I.M, while my sims that had been in like 6 productions was only a 2 star celebrity

I absolutely love sims 3. I personally feel like ea dropped the ball with late night in some areas and the way they designed the celebrity system was a bit flawed in my opinion . I do think the bouncers kinda held sims back from getting in the clubs which is why is was so empty sometimes. But if I went to the dive bar in late night and other worlds, sims would actually be there. Also they didn't really drive the sims to go to the clubs, You shouldn't get a notification saying this is a "hot spot" and the place be totally dead when your sim gets there. Also elevators held sims back, they should have fixed it before releasing the pack cause you have all these sims stuck in the elevator at once trying to get out. but other than that, I actually like the pack.
I had a sim in 4 go from a nobody to a global superstar in less than 28 days just by working freelance programmer jobs making website pages. Making a website page gives way more fame in a single action than pretty much anything else, which is crazy if you think about it

Honestly I don't have any favourite, because for me being a star is just a fun for a few days. But I've hated the star-system in Sims3. It was too easy, too "meh" and I'm always disabling it in my game :c fans and paparazzi are really annoying there. Well, screaming when you see a star is also kinda ugh, when you realize that children of your sim react like that to at the parent. Sims1 one was probably the best? But I'm not sure, It was pretty tiresome.
Tokusa Feel the same as celebrities is such a novelty in the game. Definitely fun to play for awhile.
Sims 3 celebrity system was definitely meh and easy. And everyone in town caught it like a plague.
@@orbitalpudding1946 I agree. For now I'm playing with my sim with actress career and it's kinda cool, but at the same time I don't think that I'll be playing with this career very often. I mean, it's fun to play but after a few times it'll be boring (but I've noticed that I need to have a break when I'm bored and then everything's ok). Star system is better than in sims 3, but I have to say that my sim gained global status very quickly too. Idk, like, 2-3sim weeks? But still I think the career of an actor is perfect, when you have an restaurant, vet clinic etc. because you have time for it :D
It would take about a Sim week before the majority of the town was celebraties which was really annoying. Can you tell me how to disable it for other households, I can only disable it for my current household.
I made so many rockstars in Sims 3 and after a week ingame I got so fucking annoyed, especially if you had kids then all of a sudden they're famous too .......very frustrating and gets old fast in game I prefered just pretending that my rockstar sims were famous by having them be friends with everyone instead.
@@makoto8169 there is something in Options! I'll look at it later, but I think it's in the same place where you choose which magic species can be in the world etc.

Well they changed the lookings a little bit, so it's not clear if these are really the TS2 characters, probably alternative versions of them in the Sims 4 universe. But these two were really sad backstories, so it would be kinda cool if they actually get famous in an alternative universe

Instead, Beau accidentally reached the top of success through dj’ing, now he’s 4 star famous as a teenager while Dustin is married to Angela and bumming around the Pleasant home, sponging off divorced, workaholic Mary Sue lol

Studio Town works like a active carreer and despite having real celebs we could be singers, actors and models and it comes with spa. In the Sims 4 we have Get Famous who is a little bit better than what The Sims 3 offered but lacks in variety! Despite being my least favourite pack of The Sims 3 existence, I miss the singer carreer of Showtime. I miss bands from Late Night, I miss models, I miss a lot of things! Get Famous feels so superficial to me, lacks a lot of things!

I agree. The fame system is great! It's also more rewarding when you achieve fame, especially when you reach the top. And the ceremony you get when you reach the top is oh so satisfying! Makes me feel on top of the world! 🌈💖💕❤️

I always hated the Sims 3 celebrity system and disable it whenever I play. The amount of phone calls my sims would receive made it near impossible to sit back and just play the game.
Everyone knows Bella Goth is the actual celebrity when i made my bakery and saw her walk in I FLIPPIN FLIPPED THE FLUP OUT BRO

Studio Town from Sims 1 brings back such fond nostalgia for me and my sis ^_^ we played for hours upon hours!!! I really loved celebrities in Sims 3 because it was easy to befriend them, and you could use the cheats to create celebs by default :D and choose what level they were at. I had a supernatural chick rock band and started them off at the highest level, it was great lol XD Sims 4 celebs are fun too but not quite as much as 3 was. I love seeing other Sims freak out once they reach a certain status :) but the career choices are really limited so far. I'd love if they brought back the supermodel career from Sims 1 :)
I shall forever envy that judith ward will be more famous than my sims no cc sonic.
What every sim game gave us:
1: A beautiful start of wonderous memories.
2: 3D graphics and awesome detailed animation.
3:Enhanced 3D gameplay and cool expansion packs.

Sims 4 also has an option if you're a celebrity to turn on and off celebrity shine, or walk normally or like a celebrity.

Also don’t forget: The lower the fame level In Sims 4, the more they will reject it, however it is still possible to be rejected at a higher level but it is rare (the lowest level for autographs is Rising Star)

im enjoying the celebrity pack in sims4 i get so proud when they get even more famous. I'm now a global superstar and have my own celebrity tile. Also, sims1 has way more actual celebrities wish that was in 4
I honestly had to uninstall Get Famous for a bit. I'd be at the bar in Oasis Springs just trying to have a good time but then Judith Ward or someone would show up and everyone starts freaking out

The Sims 4 it's my favorite, and have so much more interactions with the perks tree (not mentioned)
You can also hack into a venue list in The Sims 3 using the computer. This I think only applies to Sims with the Computer Whiz trait.
The first Sims did the celebrity system perfectly. It was incredibly difficult to become a celebrity. You really had to work at it (just like real life). Sims 3 and Sims 4 makes it far too easy. But the Sims 3 celeb system is the most indepth.
The sims 1 interactions were so funny. I want to combine all of the best parts of the series into one.
The Sims 3 is 100% my favourite game by the EA but I think The Sims 4 won here because the shine effect just makes them seem above you, and when they are idle they are in this certain position that makes them look like they're rich, idk.

Man, I hate how the Sims 4 celebrities will casually be walking in random places. I be at Vlad's house all the way in Forgotten Hallow and Judith Ward will just be strutting down the sidewalk like nobody's business

Cripes, yes, looking at the celebrity list for Sims 1 is a real blast from the past, isn't it? And I"m sure Baby Ariel will eventually be the same for the Sims 4. . . At any rate, it doesn't look like much has changed with celebrities and their interactions between Sims games -- you always start out limited, and have to work your way up to a friendship. As you say, it's the fame system that's really been altered between games, and -- yeah, I can imagine that would be hard to compare! Though I kind of miss how you could be a model and/or a musician in Sims 1, as well as an actor. . . I mean, I know we got the media production stations in Sims 4, but it's not QUITE the same. Neither is the musician career branch (it really should be it's OWN career, not a double-up with Comedian).

Celebrities are always so interesting in each iteration. Man I show my age when I knew all the celebs in Sims 1.
I don't have much favorites in this one only thing I didn't like with Sims 3 you can be a celebrity so easily and it catches like a disease
April May maybe because late night wanted to focus on city’s and partying more so that’s why they thought to put vampires in supernaturals for more features and fame in showtime for more features
K-pop Junk Dept vampires were pretty watered down to me. the things with the band's were cool though I enjoyed that.
I was gonna upload a video talking about fame but it was (and still is) so long that I decided to talk about celebrities instead and I'm still unsure if I'm gonna finish the Fame comparison or just move onto something else. Lol the sims 3 sneaking in one brings back memories.. i had this teen that was supposed to be like an orc and like be a rebel and such.. so he went in and the bouncer walked in too thinking something was wrong.. and he like walked pas 3 or 4 times while my sim was just sitting there enjoying a drink 😂😂

The reactions in sims1 are so energetic, I love it so much!
Let’s just hope sims 5 will be more realistic like in sims 3, I’m not a fan of the cartoonish route they went in sims 4 but still ok for what it is.
