@@hartage4 honestly, the preteen mod should just be called realistic teen mod lol. The children in the sims 4 already look between 8 and 10, while in the preteen mod they look like 13-14??? Nonetheless, though I do get that some teenagers look older, at the same time, it is very annoying that they have basically no differences besides some gameplay options.
The trailers are always a thousand times better than actual game play...

This is the best... cheerleaders, prom, after school stuff, no rabbit hole, sneaking out windows, body hair, all of the stuff, more stuff for apperance like with the clothing rack, something with social media, graduation... JUST EVERYTHING OMG

High schools, body hair, cheerleaders, prom, amusement parks, photo booths, the ability to shave.. I'm seriously at a loss for words. This is everything I ever wanted in the Sims 4, ever! Finally glad that EA are giving the fans what we've been wanting for ages now. Can't wait for the update to drop

Not all of us, sorry. There is another group that still praises for BANDS and a real musician career! And we've been waiting for so long. Everyone gets farms, more cooking themes and everything but an update for the musician career and arts are pretty much ignored anyways.

It’s confirmed to come with the free patch but we get body hair growth and shaving with the pack
Also, I can't but feel like this trailer really highlights how the Teens in 4 look like Young Adults. Reminds me of those High School Dramas where the "teens" are played by mid-late 20s yo actors 😂
i really hope they will make a free update to make teens look more like teens in preparation for this pack but i doubt that will happen

@@hanlitwin I'd like that too. I also wouldn't mind if they keep the current physique of the Teens as well since some teens really do look like they're in their 20s (especially by the Junior and Senior years). Nice bit of variety.

Why do they have prom EVERY SATURDAY? And I was a bit disappointed on how empty the school looked like.. there's atleast 7 students

I remember being so hyped for the highschool aspect a few days ago. Now I'm only hyped for everything BESIDES the highschool gameplay.

Ok I was skeptical of a pack based just on high school but I AM SOLD! Prom, photo booths, cheerleading, american football, carnivals, active school! theres so much and im so excited!

Finally a pack that actually incorporates into the core of the game and not just a niche theme that's a one and done experience that makes no use of the core gameplay.
No use in core gameplay for YOU. If the niche theme isn’t for you then don’t get the pack. Some people play with vampires everyday, some people make all their sims celebrities, some people use knitting all the time, that’s why the niches are DLC and not in the main game because you don’t have to get it.

If anything I can argue why I think more niche packs over core packs are better, cause core things should be in the main game.

Most people buy those packs, play them once or twice then never touch them again. It’s good to have a pack I know I’ll constantly be playing with everyday and fits really well into how I play the sims.

And simply don't buy the pack. If you know you're not going to play strangervile more than once don't buy strangervile. You don't HAVE to buy ALL the DLC you know?
Niche packs ARE those packs that you get a lot of use out of for some people. You may not like knitting, I LOVE having my Sims make gifts for their kids and using Plopsy. And like I said I could argue why core things should be in the main game itself and packs would be more for niches. You pay extra for something you want instead of something you need. Just simply DONT buy the things you don't want. It's quite literally harder to buy the things you don't want, why are you complaining? Do you just WANT to give EA more of your money?
No one is saying you have to like the packs that aren't for you. My whole POINT rn is not yucking other people's yum.

well, all the items from the high school were added so I think the point was to show a bunch of different versions of the high school to show the potential you can have with customizing. Imagine having to take out all of the items just to revamp the school, that would be super annoying

This trailer is making me nostalgic and homesick for my high school days (that looked nothing like this trailer).
I hope this pack comes out finished and will be a good catharsis for all those days when things don't go well at your school IRL (or to live out your dream school experience). It'll be cool if the inclusivity also extends to various school types & inclination of students.
this expansion looks really good and it seems like it has a lot of game play but the trailer just showcase one of my biggest peeves with this game and it's that teenagers don't look like teenagers... like you could tell me this expansion it's for university and i wouldn't be able to tell the difference

Ok but the Island expansion trailer showed sims actually scuba diving and it was a rabbit hole. I will expect the worst for the high school expansion and let people buy and review before I buy. Wasted too much money on expansions that seemed cool and were boring as hell.

Honestly, I’ve never been so excited for a game until this trailer. I’m excited and look forward to game play. The new world, cheerleading, football players, prom. This new pack seems a lot more interactive compared to others. This pack is going to open the door to a variety of storylines for our Sims.

When truth is, the school got only 10 students and some just stand there and do nothing. I hope there is a lot to expect in The Sims 5.
Tbh that isn't something to be mad about. There is only 12 students allowed to spawn because of players with bad PCs. Besides, as long as you aren't a console player, there's the option of downloading a mod that allows 24 students which fills up the entire school. I'd recommend downloading that
Omg! I have been waiting for this to come out for so long, I have a teenage sim and I never get to play with her because once she gets home she needs to do the homework and stuff then she's tired. With this I can play with her so much more along with my other teenage sims

I really love this, I just hope we get the social media aspect they showed, but 9 times out of 10 we won't. I'm excited for this expansion pack. So they are breaking up "Generations" watch the next one be "Primary Years" (babies, toddlers, and kids) and then "Golden Years" (elders).

its good they are separating it due to my computer not being able to handle all three, and i do not want all three. Besides, they would have shorted it, instead of this giant expansion pack for JUST TEENS, they would have crammed them all 3 into an expansion and the three wouldn't get their own spot light as much. And yes, they do get more money. It looks like they are working for it tho!

After finding out how the pack does not run well with other packs and cheerleaders can’t even work on school grounds and the patch has caused some unfortunate glitches its safe to say this trailer is a lie. So sad cause the trailer makes it look amazing. Why can’t parenthood work with this ?

@@Marissa71490 That is not a good sign at all. Most Sims players want to play the game with all the packs. Not just one. I just hope a fix comes soon. If not then I guess we will wait for modders to fix this since that is what is happening at this point now.

@@Marissa71490 Well seeing as I am waiting for other mods i use to be updated I won't update my game yet. I already bought the pack. I will hunt down for those mods once the mods I use are updated. I can't play without mods since Sims 4 is boring without them.
This has me at Sims 3 levels of excitement, this looks so good!! THIS is something I wish was in 3 and from the trailer at least it looks like its gonna be a blast! THIS is part of the gameplay content for other life stages we needed!! Guys, if you all found a way to prioritize packs like this in the beginning we'd be loving the game even more!

Though I really hope they knock it out the park with this one... Its something I wanted to see since 2... playable school and more life interactions and experiences for younger life stages... It's insane to me how people call this pack a waste of money. Like, they legit added boba tea. There are so many CLOTHES, I guess I see how people say it should've been a game pack but the school is still functional! I always had a hard time having my teenage sims meet other teens and this is a great opportunity for that! The social media and thrift shop alone would've sold it for me. And people act like they aren't getting what they paid for 🙄
If you're going and getting upset over this, what life do you have outside of The Sims? I'm a simmer too, but what does it take for people to be happy with what they get?
I looked at what to put in my house and I literally saw a cheerleading mat a football a microphone and other things and a vlog computer you literally did not just make a awesome expansion pack for The Sims 4 thank you so much I am in awe with the new expansion pack

I get that it's too late to change teen's heights but I will always be upset over it on some level. They should have fixed it in the first year of release.
It's one of the most glaring reminders that sims 4 has always been a watered-down, more expensive version than the previous games.
These critiques do not mean I hate 4, there is a lot I love about it, but there are things I'm not going to forget that EA made 4 bad until very recently.

@@gathoblaster4329 Well, it's more of their actual build. Would have been nice if teen sims were a touch shorter with narrower builds as a base. But we have what we have.
@@gathoblaster4329 You said the problem, *scaled down.* The sims 4 teens are not scaled down. Sims 4 is a video game, it doesn't need total realism. Sure, 16-19 yr olds might be tall, but the video game encompasses 13-19 and it should average that so these video game teens should be a size between child and adult, not actual adult size.
@@SunshineStorm The issue isn't even the height..it's their body shape and faces which makes these "teens" like 20+ years old. In Sims 2 they actually look 13-17 cause they have baby faces and less developed bodies; they are also shorter than adults and have their own teenage wardrobe.
I’m SO excited for this 😄 the ONLY thing I might suggest is that they make the teens just a little younger looking, you’re still a kid when you’re a teen :) other than that the pack looks fantastic

Holy crap they added so much to this pack! I’m seeing a lot of things from previous games which makes me very happy. I’m looking forward to this pack. So glad they included cheerleading and prom.
Oddly enough, the carnivals have me the most hyped, PLEASE let this be a hint toward a theme park game pack or something. I have a feeling these carnival rides will just be rabbit holes so that’s why I’d hope for something with roller coasters and activities.
I am so hyped for this. People have been wanting a high school related expansion pack for years and now we’re getting it. I am hoping they have prom or homecoming dances. Or even cliques. I wonder if there is a new career option for teachers going to the school interacting with the students.

okay another of my ideas, they should add the pre-adolescents to finish the life stages of the sims, and give the option to the adolescents to go for a baby and that they must take care not to reach it, improve the infants , more clothes, pacifiers ect.
It looks interesting. I wish one of the updates they did was to make teenagers shorter and “ganglier” than adult Sims, because they still look like adults dressed as teens. It reminds me of CW shows and movies where they try to pass off 20-something-year-olds as 16-year-olds. The carnival/faire was a surprise. I hope they offer a variety of after-school events in addition to the scouts and drama club. I also hope there is a normal size microscope in here. When would be a better time to add it?
i mean they already added a normal sized telescope. it would be great to downsize the microscope too, i can already imagine potential science lab classes with a little microscope on the tables😩✋
Hugely agree with the microscope thing! Like i always want to be able to have one for my teens who are into science, but its so unrealistic for a teenager to have a giant piece of mega machinery just to dabble in their science interest 😆
same, I wish they made teens more shorter aswell. I think they made them the same as ya and elders so they can all share the same clothing instead of teens and elders having their own clothing category like in the sims 3

I like how it can also be a reference to the previous game pack werewolves considering when you create a werewolf it’s just as hard for them to be the new member of the pack they choose to join and work hard to become the next alpha. I’m not gonna lie this looks good, I am hopeful. By the looks of things The high school is not a rabbit hole but a get to work style immersive experience. Thank God, This will make it so much easier for our teen Sims to make friends. The cheerleading part of it looks good. And I’m glad that there’s a practice mat for at home practice. I hope there is some kind of like popularity system. The social media and gaming stuff as well as the carnival area looks interesting. I don’t know I’m feeling hopeful.

So far there hasn’t been a single expansion pack that I haven’t loved. But most of the game packs and stuff packs haven’t interested me.
I bought University for Building items only. I've played the thing twice. I don't even build there. Also for the Person talking about expansion packs, Get Together & City Living in my opinion are the Best. Season should just be added to base game. And Get Work , needs Work. The Rest are Fine.
I hope so and the bar is even low for that, I just hope it's functional and cross compatible like being able to have prom on a rooftop in San myshuno and graduation at a pier in brindlegnton Bay. Just not going to be excited with 3 interaction on a ball and no bands :(

I feel like this would be more fun if the teens in TS4 actually looked like teens. This trailer was kind of silly to watch it's like the 30 yr olds they cast as high schoolers on Riverdale

Not to disappoint you but most 30yr olds I know have extra lbs, no style, wrinkles or fine lines and hair loss.
The 30 year old people you see playing as teens are attractive adults who really take care of themselves.
And nowadays teens try to make themselves look "hot" and look like in their 20s so I don't think the teens in this game are too unrealistic.
I was really expecting this pack but it's literally one of the worst that i've played. I stoped sending my sims to school after 1 week because it was just a routine, they just seat and take some notes and that's it there's really nothing interesting about this pack and the worst part is that every single pack cost the same amount of money, this additional features are really expensive and we are only getting a game full of glitches and a boring gameplay so this is why i don't buy packs anymore and just download them on internet bc it's really not worth the money. I used to buy every single pack until 2018 when i understood that the game was just not fun, i can play a game pack for 1 or 2 days and then i become bored bc there's really not much to do.
I'm very sad cuz i'm a huge fan of this game since i was little, i grew up playing the sims 2 and 3 and they gave me amazing experiences, hopefully EA can stop giving us this incomplete packs and just start from the bottom with a new game.

As a simmer myself, I do certainly wish that in a patch update, they make classrooms interactive for Discover University, just like for High School Years, which had a similar approach to Sims 3: University Life

there is a preteen mod out there... I can see it eventually getting updated to include middle school!

As excited as I am for this, it would have been nice to add pre-teens as a new age as to give a more fluid separation between kid and teen. I don't like how when a kid aged from a teen, their appearance goes from 7 to 16 within a blink of an eye. There is so much that goes on between those ages. It also would have been nice if this pack didn't just include only high school if this is and college are the only schools that will not be a rabbit hole. I might be outlier here, but I think it would be fun to play as an elementary school aged sim in school. Middle school, I'm not a fan of (too many hormones and bad memories from that time period), but I am sure there are other simmers that are.
The modder who made preteens were hired by EA recently, she probably contributed for this EP, so we might have preteens though...
Honestly the days and the life span don’t show that there is space for another stage of life…at least for now. When u have 7 days each season. I don’t know if it would be easy to have pre teens when u have kids. Since kids stay like that for 7 days and teens for 14. U can tell they can’t changed easy

Personally I'd prefer a real high school but rabbit hole classes. Like the careers, I only want to play them through a few times, and since high school would be every day, every teen sim. I think classes would get boring really quick.

The only decent thing they did with the Sims was making it moddable so people can do their work for free and yet somehow do a better job of it.
I hope they also give the option in build mode to set whether the school/venue requires uniforms (kinda like retail lots). As someone from a country that has school uniforms as the norm it would've been cool to see that option! Overall im happy with the pack especially the carnival stuff! 💕
