They're doing really good representing Japanese culture in the game, they need to do more representing cultures, the detail they put into it is really good, I love that they put Chabudai tables and shoji doors. For once I am actually excited for this expansion pack
You can already split level in the game. no mod/cc needed. you didn't know that?

@@estelladee there's ways to get around it but this is obviously an actual way to do it without fiddling for hours

not going to lie, i really wish the sims 4 had a double toddler beds ): i really want my girls to sleep together esp when you have the dlc seasons and just IN CASE your kids get scared they can snuggle in the bed together during a snowstorm or lightning etc

AHHH I hope this will help the game!! It won’t fix a lot of problems but it will start by giving us something that has more depth!!

Split leveling is already a thing you can technically do but it's kinda finicky :0

@@karlaotte6787 oh it's not a cheat! You just make a house with a foundation, split off the part you want to be lowered with a wall, then delete that floor and wall. No cheats needed :)

My personal favourite game pack. Snow vacations, new festivals are little higher than just neutral to me, but Japanese-inspired landscapes in new world... I'm just IN LOVE with all that.
There's actually so much in this pack I actually wanted, very impressed, especially with the social media aspect, the rock climbing, Japanese culture styling, very nice, very clean, very excited to play!
Hopefully you actually get that social media game play because I sure did not see it as a list of pack features looks more like the work of advertisers and they might sold you on a lie.

I don't believe the split level until I see it. Otherwise it is what we already do with foundations, but in a trailer.

It's The Sims 4. At this point you kinda have to get used to EPs having half or less the content of The Sims 3 EPs.
When I saw just the title, I definitely thought it was a game pack. The last expansion pack was a letdown for me, but I’m actually interested in this. 🤞🏾🤞🏾
@Zora Z I liked DU, I was talking about Eco Lifestyle. Eco Lifestyle was pretty bad, IMO. I had potential, but ended up feeling really shallow (aside from the fact it was really buggy).

Kinda odd that THIS is the pack that includes that type of content to enhance your sim's behavior and relationships with other sims (wouldn't really expect it to be included in a pack called 'snowy escape' haha), but very neat addition! I like!
Maybe in the new patch for it and it BUILDS on that in the pack, like the Eco lifestyle Patch
That right there makes me wonder if that's where the Game Changers that collabed with them had an impact. Maybe they said "Guys, you have GOT to give more depth to the actual Sims before you lose your base completely."

They really did change the trailer, instead of bowing by the shrine she now just making a thinking interaction and they switched out the festival scene, at first I even missed it because it seemed to move quicker past it now.

yeah, I am really psyched about it. I'm not asian, but the world is definitely the thing I'm most excited about. We need some damn variety! I lived in japan as a kid and I might be wrong but this kind of gives me japan-inspired vibes and I am so so so excited for that. I really miss japan. And as someone who currently lives in the midwest, I don't give a crap about snow. In fact I actively dislike snow lol, so if this was just a snow pack it would be a hell no. But some actual variety in worlds and culture in the game looks so freaking exciting. Especially because there's not a ton of representation for asian culture in the sims.

The pack looks great but I can’t help feeling a little disappointed that there were no hotels, this would have been the perfect opportunity to bring in a proper ski resort! I’ll still be buying it tho :)
Same but they will likely have hotels for a game pack like dine out. So you could run the hotels too.
I think the scene of the hot tub is at a ski resort type thing? We’ll see in November!

To be fair Star Wars was a special case. The only sims pack to ever get more dislikes than likes and at that, the ratio was double. Even Eco Lifestyle had more likes than dislikes and that was riding off the level of disappointment when people logged in expecting farms only to realize the country livin’ leak was fake.

Same, one of my favourite packs is Spa Day (I know I‘m alone with that opinion. 😄) and the hot springs are making me exciting.
Making my sims eat onigiri. Also in the trailer they appear to actually eat at the tavle rather than one sim on the toilet another two sims on the beds and a sim standing up in the middle of the living room.
Here I don't care anything about the Japanese town at all removing all I can but I'm all for the winter skiing theme.

Is anyone noticing how the cover art for this pack (featuring several different sections of several activities) and the trailer (featuring freeze frames with action phrases like “find your zen”) are exactly how the sims 3 pack covers and trailers looked? TS4 pack covers used to be just 1 image and their trailers didn’t feature freeze frames. They’re going back to the sims 3 marketing and this might mean good things for the direction of the sims 4

@@papajohn5279 LMAO it's been years and they're just adding different inclusive skin tones. EA just cares about money. Don't be naive or fooled by a nice trailer. Many times, the pack doesn't reflect that.

finally!!! After the Star Wars flop I'm so so happy to see something like this! Not overly-Americanized, more personal, more SNOW DEPTH! I'm hoping the snow depth happens in other worlds for those with Seasons, that would make it all so much better universally. I haven't felt this excited for a new pack in so long, it's refreshing

I have high hopes because every world represents a season or a style of living (desert, forest, city, beach, towns,...) so it would make sense thats snowy and mountain will be available :)

There are many countries in Asia. Did Sims 4 really have to develop for only one country (which was also responsible for World War II)? You may like Japan, but many Asian countries were not free from Japan’s violence.
The EA must learn how to understand and respect for Asian and other cultures.

I saw a train, nabe dish, kotatsu, kimonos, vending machines and freaking salarymen. This is definitely based on Japan. I hope this world has a mix of residential and vacation lots..... Either way, I'm very much looking forward to this pack. I love Japanese culture.
