Am glad Dakota transitioned so well from a child to adult actor. And there's no bad news we have heard about her throughout the years unlike other child actors growing up in the industry. No news about drug or alcohol use, no rebel teen years, no diva attitude, no sex tape, no sexy naked roles, no controversial lovelife. When we think Dakota Fanning now in her 30s, we think about her acting work because there is no other controversy in her life to detract from that. Growing up, people would always make fun of my name because of Dakota Fanning, so I went by Cody most my life until I started to embrace Dakota more. Now to find out that Dakota Fanning's nickname was also Cody is mindblowing to me... and I just turned 31! Such a weird parallel

Believe it or not, I first discovered Dakota Fanning in her younger roles (e.g. "The Cat in the Hat", "Trapped", "Coraline", "Man on Fire", "Hide and Seek", "War of the Worlds"), and she is an exceptional child actor. And as she is growing to a more mature age, she has never lost her ability, like her roles in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", "The Runaways", "Please Stand By" and among others. I also can't wait for her new film "The Watchers" to come out in theaters. Kudos to Ms. Dakota Fanning!👏🏻✨💯

She’s becoming more and more similar looking with Elle as she ages

When Dakota and Elle were younger, they were two very individual actresses to me. But then Dakota took her break and I saw Elle in everything (re-binging The Great right now) and now that they're both adult women, they share so many of the same mannerisms and I can hear them in each other's voices. Of course, they're sisters, but it's interesting to see.

First time I remember Dakota was with "War of the Worlds" (2005) - I was very moved by her performance then. I've been following on and off. My real life obligations caught up to me and sadly I put all that on ice for a long time. But then I watched "The Alienist" and it all came back to me and it was glorious. The little girl I had so admired now was a full grown woman and was teaching stuff about life! And was so stoic and strong about her growing up - Dakota's performance put that through me...
In retrospect, I feel like I finally come to a point where I truly don't care how beautiful these girls look like - the true beauty is in their capabilities to act, that's the magic. They bring characters to life. Cheers.

So we have Elle Fanning (25) and Dakota (30) and in between we have Chloë Grace Moretz (27). The most talented trio of young female actresses and Dakota was in EVERY movie where a little girl was needed. Acted with Tom Cruise, Robert DeNiro and Denzel Washington before she turned 11! All these amazing WOMEN have transitioned better from child actors to "adult actors" as oppose to their male counterparts. (Fred Savage, Lukas Haas, Macaulay Culkin ... Haley Joel Osment!). Good to see Henry Thomas (E.T.) in Legends of the Fall and the Netflix show The Fall of the House of Usher though.
