Birbiglia was already a very good comedian who seems to have kicked it up a notch to the top level. Not a lot of comedians get better at their act after getting a podcast but he seems like a rare exception.

Stumbled across this last night and laughed A LOT! I love his timing and delivery and unlike other comics doesn't resort to F words and C words to "entertain". I'm looking forward to many more laughs as I watch his other specials.

Never heard of this comedian until today when a friend and I were sharing what we're watching on Netflix and he mentioned The Old Man and the Pool. I immediately jumped on to see if it was worthy to play for my family when they visit over Christmas. The 2 criteria being laugh out loud funny and no foul language. OMG it was soooo worthy, so funny. The word sublime comes to mind. I'm a new fan.

I have loved your work since I first heard you on This American Life about twenty lifetimes ago, and you really do just keep getting better and better! I was watching your special while untangling my Christmas lights and then ran into the problem that I finished, but you hadn’t finished talking, and the sun was going down, and I needed to get the lights up, but you were still talking, so I didn’t want to go outside. Please keep taking care of yourself and telling stories! I love you and you make my life a happier place.
