This game is a MASTERPIECE! A MASTERPIECE. AC II and Brotherhood portrays very well the Italian political situation during the late XV century and early XVI century. At the time that AC II is set ( 1476-1492), for example, the Italian peninsula was divided into five major powers ( six including the Republic of Genoa, but the genoese power already was in decadence since Genoa's defeat against Venice at the battle of Chioggia in 1380): The Republic of Florence ( Repubblica di Firenze), the Duchy of Milan ( Il ducato di Milano), the Kingdom of Naples ( Il Regno di Napoli), the Papal States ( Status Pontificius) and the Republic of Venice ( Serenìsima Repùblica Vèneta).
    • The Republic of Florence ( where Ezio was born and raised), for example, controlled almost the entire current region of Tuscany ( Toscana), including all the current provinces of Firenze, Pisa, Livorno, Pistoia, Lucca and Arezzo. The only exception, on the other hand, were the current provinces of Grosseto and Siena ( which were under the control of the Republic of Siena). During the governments of Cosimo and Lorenzo de Medici, Florence became the main political and military power of Tuscany, the true heart and the cradle of the Renaissance. Ezio, therefore, witnessed this period of glory.
    • The Duchy of Milan, in turn, controlled almost the entire current region of Lombardia ( Lombardy), including all the current provinces of Varese, Milano, Pavia, Lecco, Como, Monza, Sondrio and Lodi. The only exception were the current provinces of Bergamo, Brescia and Cremona ( which were under Venetian control).
    • The Kingdom of Naples ( where Ezio visited in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood), however, controlled almost the entire current regions of Calabria, Basilicata, Puglia, Campania, Molise, parts of Abruzzo and parts of Lazio ( province of Rieti).
    • The Papal States ( where Ezio LIVED and visited in Assassin's Brotherhood, as the video mentioned), on the other hand, controlled all the current Lazio ( with exception of parts of the current province of Rieti), with Rome, the "queen of Italy" ( REGINA ITALIAE) as its capital ( obviously). Furthermore, the Papal States controlled also the current regions of Umbria ( including Perugia and Terni), Marche ( including Macerata, Ancona, Pesaro-Urbino and Ascoli Piceno), parts of Romagna and parts of Emilia. In Romagna, which comprised the current central-eastern portion of Emilia-Romagna, the Papal States controlled all the current provinces of Ferrara, Rimini, Forlì ( which was included in AC II), Ravenna and parts of Bologna.
    • The Republic of Venice ( Serenìsima Repùblica Vèneta), where Ezio visited and lived in AC II, finally, was a powerful Thalassocratic state. During the XII century and early XIII century ( especially during the governments of the Doges Ordelafo Faliero, Domenico Michele, Pietro Polani, Domenico Morosini, Vitale II Michele, Sebastiano Ziani, Orio Mastropiero and Enrico Dandolo), Venice became one of the four major Italian Thalassocratic republics that formed the "quartet" ( as I like to call it) responsible for the commercial renaissance in Europe ( Alongside with Pisa, Genova and Amalfi). Following the Venetian victory at the Battle of Chioggia ( under the Doge Andrea Contarini), Venice achieved its total hegemony in the Mediterranean. In 1400 ( under the Doge Michele Steno), Venice already had a fleet with 3.000 ships. Venice's Hinterland possessions ( Domini di Terraferma), which was one of the three subdivisions of the Republic's possessions, for example, controlled all the current Italian regions of Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the eastern part of Lombardy ( including the current provinces of Bergamo, Brescia and Cremona). At the time the game is set ( especially AC II), Venice was at the height of its power and influence during the governments of the Doges Francesco Foscari, Pasquale Malipiero, Cristoforo Moro, Nicolò Tron, Nicolò Marcello, Pietro Mocenigo, Andrea Vendramin, Giovanni Mocenigo, Marco Barbarigo and Agostino Barbarigo. During the time that Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is set ( 1500-1507), however, the Venetian Empire was already in decadence due to two main reasons:
    • 1) the rise of Portugal under the King Manuel I as an economic and political power in Europe ( which represented an economic threat to Venice). Following the arrival of Vasco da Gama in India ( 1498), Portugal became the main supplier of oriental products to Europe.
    • 2) The Turkish threat ( which represented, on the other hand, a military threat to Venice).
Tks Ubi for this amazing trilogy! Rome for the next Assassin's Creed!.

Anyway i suggest you to go see also some minor and less turistic cities, mostly small towns on hills and the like, so you can see an actual italian city, bc the bigger italian citys got transformed by turism and if you order an italian plate, they Will most likely give you the readaptation of It made for turists.
Once i went to a pizzeria. Near me there was a group of.. germans? I think? Not sure. The waiter asked to them how the pizza was, they said "delicius".
To me, It was CLEARLY pre-made and most likely Frozen. If u want to find a Place to eat traditional food also in biggher cities like Rome, Just follow ppl Who ACTUALLY live around there. They know the Place and where to eat well, so Just Ask if they live here and follow them. if you look for traditional pizza.. there are a LOT of traditional pizza's. They chance depending on where you go. Here where i live, in the center-south, its more "crunchy" and pretty high, usually rectangular. But if you go to Naples, you Will find out that the pizza there Is soft and everything but High. A disk of pure tomato sauce and mozzarella oor wathever you want to put on there. Oh also, for mozzarella they usually mean general formage, its not Always mozzarella, but the taste Is pretty much the same. If there Is mozzarella di bufala (not sure how to Say "bufala" in english) It Will be VEEERY good, but pretty hard to eat bc that tipe of mozzarella Will become nearly liquid on pizza, but its still totally worth It. Its pretty rare to find It even in traditional restaurante thought. If you ever come back in here again, these are the Major things you should really know.
