There would have a good explanation to why Godzilla isn't there(besides the big fight being saved for later). Godzilla & King Kong share the same universe, and the Godzilla move established that Godzilla goes around kicking monsters' asses whenever they appear. So, an entire island full of monsters, would keep him occupied.

He's not bashing the movie or the design, he's literally just giving out his opinion. So what if there's just one single shot of a native in this movie... that doesn't mean one can't have an opinion. It also doesn't mean they can't change that opinion should these natives prove to indeed be more scarier or threatening than Peter Jackson's natives.

I haven't dug most of this Godzilla/Kong series so far, but Skull Island is better than it has any right to be.
I thought it was interesting how Godzilla (2014) had a theme of nature knocking humans down a peg. Reminding them just how insignificant they are. THIS movie however as it takes place in the 70s seems to be about man facing nature head on and showing it who's "King". It's a neat little parallel

We only had around 10 minutes of dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, so I am not complaining.
In Alien you see the monster just for 4 minutes in the movie and that movie was still awsome.
Because Alien was a horror that preyed on what you didn't see. It helped build tension and atmosphere. With Godzilla, King Kong and Jurassic Park, people want to see Giant monsters either destroying shit or fighting each other.
Alien was a horror movie. That was to build suspense. These are giant monster action movies.

Why do you think King Kong is this big in then first place?
Well, first of all we have what I assume (!) is Kong's handprint at 1:00. Looks way too large for regular-sized Kong, IMO. Then there's the shot with the helicopters at 1:25. That sure looks like Kong standing in the river, and look at the size of him. Or at 1:47. Kong gets up in front of the sun, and the shot makes it look like he's pretty far away, what with the helicopters flying towards him. :)

If you look closely at the rifles, they almost don't move at all. It looks like they're being aimed but not actually fired. Brie Larson's character also doesn't react like she would if a dozen rifles were going off around her. I think in the actual film, the soldiers get spooked and aim at something offscreen, but don't fire, but they digitally added muzzle flashes to make the trailer a little more exciting.

I remember hearing rumors about a movie called "Skull Island" since like 2.5 years ago. It wasn't even called Kong: Skull island at the time. Also, the time things are announced usually come after some sort of work on the film has begun.

The film has been in development since 2014 and its coming out in March 2017. So, they've had plenty of time to make this movie and still have plenty more time to improve it

Rish Fish yeah but it's unrealistically big. What does it even eat? Now there's nothing on that island that can fight him. Kong was always meant to be a large gorilla and he was always portrayed as such in the previous films. Changing it to be a Sasquatch/yeti monster is just changing he character, like making James Bond a women.

They've probably increased his size so that when they do King Kong vs Godzilla again they will be on equal ground and a fight can take place without Godzilla just stepping on him. Pretty much like what they did back for the 1962 King Kong vs Godzilla movie.
The director said that Kong isn't gonna be 10 feet or 30 feet, but 100 feet ape. And said that this is the biggest Kong there's ever been.
