There have been 6 bounty hunters shot and killed in Arizona while breaking into a home that they "thought" the person they were looking for was in. The best part is the home owner was not charged and even got the weapon back ASAP just incase a Bounty Hunter breaks through the door again.

I completely agree. Good for that sheriff. Where I live, bounty hunters know better and would never come in someone's home like that. It's a very rural area and I'd estimate that 80% of people around here do have a firearm in the house. That may sound excessive but you have to understand that if someone comes to your home intending to do you harm, there's no telling how long it'll take the cops to get to your home when you live somewhere like this. They could be on the other side of the mountain when they get the dispatch and your closest neighbors really aren't all that close and people don't like getting in other people's business around here. Even hearing gunshots probably wouldn't even be taken seriously or noted because it's common for people to hunt and practice shooting. You're essentially on your own until help can get to you so most of us feel much safer knowing there's a firearm in the home. Our children are taught gun safety from an early age and it's taken very seriously. They're often hunters as well so even if there's just a couple of kids in the home, you try breaking in and those kids might just shoot your ass just as easily as their parents would have. And they won't miss either.

I'm not saying it never happens but they won't take the risk 9 times outta 10 cuz they know people around here are armed and they value their own safety and realize it's not worth the risk. They utilize other techniques to get the people they're looking for that are less risky for everyone involved. I'm not sure if that's how things are in other rural areas but that's how it is here.
