Why do puppies have to grow so fast? Watch as our golden retriever puppy Wrangler grows from almost 8 weeks old to 18 weeks, going from 10 lbs to about 40 lbs. Over the last couple of months, Wrangler has had many firsts, his first bath, first time at the beach, first time playing with a balloon, and even the first time he played with an ice cube. My husband and I were just talking about our 8 golden/lab puppies that we had. Our golden retriever and our lab had pups and it was one of the funnest times of our lives. We kept 1, and the 3 of them were inseparable until the day they died. We first lost Mom (Sunny) at 9yrs old, the Dad (Teddy) at 10yrs old, and our baby boy (Rio) lived until he was 11yrs old. We still miss them to this very day. And watching this makes me happy and sad all at the same time. Thanks for posting!

We brought home a 10 week old English Cream Golden at the end of October. He has grown so fast it is hard to believe he is not even six months old yet. Having fun with the days as they come and enjoying being in the moment with him. He brings us much happiness as I can see Wrangler does for you as well. Nothing like puppy love!

Golden retriever are so cute. Even though they give a lot of work to do ( cleaning the house because of their shedding, walking them and playing with them_ they want your attention all the time) , but it's worth it: they are such adorable!

Golden Retrievers are one of the best dog breeds that exist. I use to breed mini doxies and my daughter conned me into to getting a Golden. I never wanted a big dog but caved haha. She was in the 8th grade when we brought Wrigley home at 8 weeks. Well guess what the years have passed, my daughter went on to graduate with her Masters in 2020 and moved to Oregon from Michigan and is now a mom of twin boys.. Of course guess who got the dog ha ha! Wrigley will be 12 years old this coming April. Iโm currently in Oregon helping with the new babies and Wrigley drove with me across country and is sitting at m6 feet as Iโm typing this. Iโm 67 and cannot begin to describe in words how much warmth, joy, companionship and unconditional live heโs brought into my life. I know heโs getting old and try not to think too far ahead, Iโm just cherishing each new day heโs able to bless my life with. I just wanted to make a small comment and urge all new dog owners about neutering and spaying their Goldenโs or other large breed dogs. Itโs very important not to neuter or spay especially Goldenโs until they are at least a year. They need the testosterone and estrogen for proper bone growth. I did not know this, however I have an amazing vet who explained a lot of dog related health issues if you neuter or spay too early. I encourage everyone to do your own research and discuss this with your vet. I know that animals adopted from the human society are almost always neutered or spayed before you take them home regardless of their age. This is done to prevent overpopulation and thatโs a good thing.

The reason dogs steal their owners' shoes and socks is that they like/love you, ergo they want your smell with them.
Your feet are closest to their nose, most of the time, so that is the smell they want.
Not all dogs do this, but it's very common.
I've never thought of it that way, but this makes perfect sense!

Very common for animals to grow fast. Born in spring, they must be mature enough to survive the coming winter. Also, they might get separated from mom and have to feed themselves.

Great video and work with your pup. Probably the best new owner video I have seen. Save one thing. NEVER let your pup/dog play with balloons, especially rubber ones. They ingest any part of it and it will have serious consequences. Cheers.

My new 8-week-old golden has a dark tummy too (hyperpigmentation), like Wrangler did- I guess it's ok-
Wrangler was healthy otherwise, so we didn't worry about it and he eventually grew out of it.

Hi We want to make business cooperation with you.
Giving puppy or any dog balloons or whole eggs as a toy is REAL bad idea. Hope you're close to a vet for resuscitation and removal of popped balloons from their throat.
Yeah swallowing a balloon wouldnโt be good - that elastic could do quite a bit of damage inside. We keep a close eye on him though; there's been many occasions where we have to pull random things out of his mouth but that's part of raising a puppy and them learning what is and isn't edible.
