That being said, from what we have seen in Super Dragon Ball Heroes, both Time Patrol Goku and Capsule Corp Goku are far stronger than canon Goku.
There was narrative in the last two times they fought.

At this point I'll be disappointed if it doesn't end with the two of them agreeing to do this again as a way to keep themselves at the top of their game.
Well to keep Goku at the top of his game, Superman is infinite so yeah he will never reach his maximum.

Trivia Fun fact. Both Goku and Superman named their first son after their father figure. Goku's case Gohan is based off of his Grandpa Gohan and Clark based his son Jonathan Kent named from his father figure Jonathan Kent.
Another Fun Fact: Speaking of Superman, there was a character in another Akira Toriyama series called Dr. Slump created one inspired by Superman and Clark Kent but their names are romanji and they are the more sillier version than its American counterpart.

They snubbed Goku SEVERELY in the 1st and 2nd battle, refusing to fully explain what the multipliers do to gokus defens and strength, they removed 90% of his techs to make him look easier and that final at the end was riddled with superman bias, plus if not superman who else cause no person is taking goku on.

They explained what multipliers do in the first battle so common sense would dictate that the same logic applies to the second battle. Obviously there are versions of goku that can beat Superman, but the current cannon Superman a so far stronger than the Superman that was used in the second fight it’s ridiculous.
Let's look at this positively. The fact that this debate is _still_ going on just goes to show how influential and inspirational these two characters are.

I genuinely wonder if 3rd time's a charm. I love both characters, but I thought the lesson of the second fight was that Superman didn't have limits while Goku was always trying to overcome limits.
Ben stated multiple times that GvS2 is his least favorite episode for many reasons, one of them being the reasoning they had for the results (and how biased it felt both towards Goku being a "BETTER CHARACTER" than Superman and Superman being "unstoppable")

As a constant DBZ detractor.... if I understand Ultra Instinct correctly, it's now or never for Goku. A defensive form focused on dodging is the only thing that could give him a chance against Sups aside from a magical form. After all, you can't survive a blow from a being who's lifted the concept of infinity if he's not holding back, but if you avoid the punch in the first place, it doesn't matter if it's a one shot.
So it's gonna come down to: Has Goku's reaction time improved enough since Round 2 to keep up with Sups, and does he have enough juice to actually damage him? If all the talk of Goku being a universe buster is true, then I do think with REPEATED hits he could take down Sups, provided Ultra Instict keeps him alive long enough to do it.

Imma be honest I don’t care who wins at this point I just hope they make a more faithful adaptation of the fight than what we got for the 2nd round.

@@borby4584 Death Battle has always been for entertainment, They are not powerscalers. Versus battles will always be toxic even if you prove them with feats on why the other character wins/loses
They tend to scale anime characters very wrong, but Goku v superman was always one of the more accurate and concise ones, which is why I don’t really see the point in doing a 3rd one unless Goku just seals Superman away or even uses hakai on him, but I’m sure Superman has several layers of existence erasure resistance anyway
Ending Perdiction: Goku's fighting as hard as he can in UI Mastered and puts all of his energy into one last attack. Superman is hurt, but nowhere near defeated. Like with Beerus and Cell, Goku is smart enough to understand this is someone he just can't beat.
Superman refuses to kill Goku as he's already done so twice and didn't want to the first time. He talks to Goku and explains that he was never a threat to Earth. Partway through, Goku's stomach growls and he admits he's starving, suggesting they go get lunch.
Cut to a restaurant where Superman subtly asks Batman to pay for the meal as Goku eats everything. Then he gets Goku's attention. Goku loves strong opponents and the Justice League is always looking for new members...
Too wholesome for Death Battle. But I do wish that happens

At what point can someone be “stronger” than superman? There are beings in the DC universe that are higher tier than superman, but they don’t get boosted an unlimited amount by the sun.
Like Shazam. He’s “Superman tier” but never beats superman. Then there are characters above that (like the gods who gave Billy powers), but they are not infinitely strong.
He clearly has a threshold that he can’t surpass unless he spends an extended period of time in the sun like Superman Prime (the gold one).
Do his attacks get so strong that it drains more energy than he absorbs? What is the upper standard limit?

Doesn't the Mafuba only work on evil beings, same limitation as the genki dama? I mean it translates to "demon sealing wave" and the seal is a religious demon seal too. Unless Superman's possessed by Trigon at some point, I don't think it's going to work.

and the Genki Dama nearly killed Goku when it was redirected at him.

Can’t wait to see this battle. I’d say it honestly depends on how many feats from the comics they give Superman. There are some versions of Superman out there that are simply too powerful even for heroes/cc/Xeno goku. I’m curious to see which version of Superman they scale goku to.

So it's probably been brought up here before, but these 2 are the only death battle participants that are having a 3rd fight.
And if the 2nd battle is any indication, this is a story all its own. Which means that unlike other battles these 2 have experience with each other. SO that means by now goku knows that Supes is vulnerable to magic and draws power from the sun. This knowledge is his only hope of victory.
Goku is a man who fights head-to-head unless his opponent is a bad guy, so it's hard to think of strategies such as sun blasting...
How would he know Supes is vulnerable to magic?

Honestly I gotta commend Death Battle for doing Goku vs Superman not just twice, but thrice. The inevitable backlash to this is gonna be hilarious. It's like watching a happy Sisyphus roll the boulder up the hill.
Yeah, I could see them doing it again after so long especially after ultra instinct but at this point we all know the result.
You say inevitable like it isn't already happening. So many people are already complaining about the match-up happening for a third time even to the point of some flat out lying and saying "no one wanted this."
I actually remember getting really angry at seeing Goku lose in the first DB when I was around 10 years old because I knew nothing about the Superman comics lmao!

It only feels right considering this is a 10th anniversary special of the original fight.

What I'm more curious of is who will voice Superman. Like Masako, I hope it's the previous Superman VA (Michael Agrusso). Especially since unlike Goku, there hasn't been a solid enough precedent for anyone else to take Superman (Literally the only other was DevilArtemis for a DB X. Which.. I feel might be a lot unlikely, no offense to him).

We’ve had multiple characters fight more than once but why do these two always fight each other? I’d honestly be fascinated to see them go against other people. I don’t really count the Gogeta vs Vegito fight.

I expect Superman to still win for one big reason and it’s a narrative one.
Narratively, Goku’s arc has always been “Can he become strong enough to beat this opponent?” Which historically, yes he can. But his is always an upward arc.
Superman’s is never “Is Superman strong enough to win?” He’s so broken we know he can punch any bad guy into submission at his absolute peak. It’s “Can he save everyone?” I.e., what does he do and how does he handle it when you give him a problem he can’t just punch his way out of.
Goku is always progressing to become stronger, where Superman is always strong enough for the situation he is in, it’s a matter of his capability and adaptability
Except all the times he loses contradict that narrative, Scaling goku and Superman’s narrative doesn’t make any sense because of how many interpretations you can have of them
And also I’d say Superman’s narrative is more his humanity despite being an alien and goku more accepting his heritage and embracing it

@@strikingsarcophagus I think the point was more that Goku tends to lose fights because he gets outclassed and has to improve himself while Superman usually ends up in bad situations because he's outplanned, taken down by plot-convient material, or not willing to step back and let people suffer the consequences. In a fight where the only thing that matters is killing the opponent, there's not really anything stopping Supes from just, say, flying off into a blue sun and coming back fully healed and a hundred times stronger whenever Goku might have an edge.
That might be where the whole "no limits" thing came from now that I think about it...
Its hilarious that they constantly put him back up against superman every time he gets a new form but never use any of supermans stronger forms.

Goku's does have a saving grace oddly enough it's the technique known as Hakai. There's still a chance albeit a small one. It actually just depends if we're getting the Manga version or not lol.

They are compositing Dragon Ball Heroes for Goku and Infinite Frontier for Superman. And this will be a revisitation of the matchup, as well as the Re-analysis of the fight to fix the issues that Death Battle had in their previous episodes.
It's awesome to have a proper remake with better research and better animation. However I don't think the result will change. DC cosmology is way too crazy and multilayered and Superman has some of the best scaling in DC.

Not denying that this is going to open the gates of hell again, but I will say that this is kind of nostalgic in a way, the last Goku VS Superman came out in 2015, OVER 8 YEARS AGO, and if the last two fights are anything to go by, this matchup returning after so long, combined with their updated animations and much more reliable research than they had 8 years ago, it’s safe to say that no matter what happens, this episode is going to be a blast, its freaking Goku and Superman, what more do you expect

Okay... they've had several battles with entities aware of multiverse as a concept who aren't happy with the outcome of the battle. Bill Cypher--who apparently is in Wiz' head--Freiza and Rick Sanchez. On top of Silver Surfer and Martian Manhunter's battle being really really weird. With Rick Sanchez not doing any fourth wall breaks during his fight--despite it being fully noted as a thing he does in character

Everytime you do an anime character I always hope it's Birdy the Mighty. She has mighty in her name for god sake. Plus her nickname, beserker killer Birdy just shows how capable she is.

Pre-Crisis Superman is nothing compared to Infinite Frontier Superman, who is a literal and canonical composite of Pre-Crisis, Post-Crisis, New 52, and Rebirth.
Since they're using Composite Superman (every single superman melded into one with all of his feats) they should also use Composite Goku, meaning Heroes/Capsule Corp Goku, Goku from the Ultra Vegito Series, Goku from Dragon Ball AF, etc etc. It's literally the only way to make it fair. If Superman gets to draw from numerous authors, why not Goku?
