Ollie's way of trying write by remembering the keyboard positions of the letters in both alphabets is quite unique and impressive

Naahh he's smart but I don't think he's really trying tho. I bet if he seriously learned it bts with josh (which definitely wouldn't be laughed at anymore after a while) he would've become the korean englishman too. I think he purposely put little effort to make this series funny, like the main thing in this series is not his korean itself but the comedy in it.

Ollie is wonderful, learning a new language while being dyslexic, and along with all the other professional work he is doing. Obviously Josh learnt it faster because he was a student then, he had no other work, and maybe Josh IS a fast learner, but dont diss him for laughing guys, he is just having fun! Besides, Ollie is his best friend for years now so if he'd feel insulted or mocked in any sense I dont think he would enjoy being on these episodes as muvh as he does. Learning Korean is not his obligation. Its a fun activity he does with Josh for the channel. Just enjoy these two friends and laugh with them!

I remember I struggled so much in elementary school every time I took a writing test. I was born and raised in Korea but it took me a good decade to master Korean. You are doing a fabulous job Ollie! I know how difficult it is to learn a different language so don't be discouraged by some mistakes you make. Also about that comments how they feel bad for Ollie, I think Josh is being a great teacher and merely adding some laughs to make videos more entertaining. His intention isn't to hurt Ollie's ego. Anyway I love you both and keep up your good work!

Well the fact that you do have to learn Kanji to qrite effectively especially because they have no spaces makes sense. I would like to say though I found kana a lot simpler and easier than Hangul.

I started japanese and korean at the same time at uni, i had a bit of knowledge of japanese writing beforehand, so it was easier for me to get used to it. I was so confused by korean writing when i first saw it, i just thought it couldn´t be that simple, but once i got behind it it was easy :D I just made it more complicated than it used to be xD
yeah I guess it's just that Hangul is just so different from English but is objectively simpler than both Japanese Syllbary and English Alphabet and takes getting used to.

한글 최고
한글이 우수한건 맞지만 이런건 한글만의 장점이라기보단 표음문자의 우수성이 좀 더 정확한듯. haw du ai encryce deo bolyum? 해도 뭐라하는지 읽을 수 있는 사람 꽤 될듯.

We can still understand it, bruv. It's just like small kids starting to write down what they already know how to converse verbally. These progress don't happen in few years. I mean, we are definately enjoying these videos but i think the funnier the video gets, the less you'll feel good about learning korean. Everyone needs enough time to learn something new and to feel good about it. You are doing great, man.
How about changing learning methods? Like fewer lessons with books and.. idk maybe more Korean movie/drama/예능 watching? You can still film Jolly with it, like, reviewing the newest korean movie with you trying to describe it as much as possible in Korean. You can tour your house in Korean! 랜선집들이ㅋㅋㅋ Or film a 'speak only in Korean' challenge or something in a just another day in London with Josh and Gabie? Like they have to translate what you want in *Korean to English* if you want to talk to other people. Idk, use Korean while doing what you really like. The possibilties are endless. Go get it, Ols! Becasue personally, i'd rather see you giving up learning Korean than see you getting that stressed because of it. Just my opinion. With love♡♡

I feel like I know 한글 better than Ollie. But he knows way more words and grammar that, so hes able to at least make conversation, while the best I can do is read hangul😂 So he is still more advanced than I am

I really felt sorry for Ollie. When you learn a language primarily from listening and speaking, it's impossible to do well on a writing test like this. I mean, unless he's been talking about chickens a lot, he'd never hear the silent "ㄹ" in 닭. This just demonstrates how spelling even in a relatively phonetic language like Korean is still a minefield.
I think a good episode would be Josh sharing some of the funny or embarrassing errors he made when first learning Korean!
Pronuncaition of 닭 is 달-ㄱ like 달-윽, we speak all word even if speaking only this word.
PS : 하아... 윗글의도에따라 자음탈락현상 찾아보다가 한국어문법에 또다시 멘붕 ㅜㅜ

Young Korean who has left handed person often do the same thing like mirror image of ㄹ. Maybe Korean is made for right handed person character. It is harder for left handed person to learn Korean at first time. My experience, it is natural. Not dyslexic.

Seriously this made me feel so much better. I am having a hard time learning, also because I am learning on my own, and I get slightly panicked when trying to speak/write Korean with a Korean because I know I'll mess it up. But seeing this it's like "nothing bad happens, but some laughs when you do things wrong" and it's oddly making me feel better. Thank you!

I gotta say...Thank you for these videos. They were just fun when I wasn't studying Korean but now that I've started (again😑) it's motivating AND a nice break from studying (plus I always know things I didn't know before or recognize words that I didn't on the very first watch) and I'm always impressed by how good Ollie actually is, when he's not thinking about it and trying too hard.

초1 때인가 처음으로 받아쓰기했는데 우리집은 딱히 엄마가 공부보다는 오히려 애기때는 더 많이 놀아라 이런주의라 글같은거 안배우고 학교들어갔다가
선생님이 너는 왜 초1이나 됐는데 친구들처럼 글씨를 못쓰니? 바보니? 집에서 안배웠니? 했던거 아직까지 기억에남음 ㅠㅠ
그때 막 애들앞에서 선생님이 그런거라 창피해죽는줄....ㅠㅠ엄마한테 말도못하고...ㅠㅠ
나는 학교가서 배우는게 당연한건줄알았는데...ㅜ

참고로 전 초3때까지 였읍니다. 했읍니다. 이런식으로 쓰는걸 못고쳤었어요!
