I think the biggest difference of KoreanEnglishman and DanandJoel I've felt is that Dan and Joel videos are more like semi-documentaries? Still in the area of showing others how korean culture is from your view, but also includes the natural thing around the moment as well. Like impromptu 'interview' with restaurant owners or other visitors. I really like that from Dan and Joel!

Yeah, but I think they need to build community as well just like Josh and Ollie did in their videos so people took interest about them.
@@bryhalla Korean Englishman has a "KRplus channel" feel about it where Dan and Joel feels like videos that they just happened to put on KRplus. I like both but for a larger majority Korean Englishman has a quality to it, from the thumbnails, the titles, the flow of the videos, they're made to attract attention for the most part.
@@jangtheconqueror It's the difference in some ways between a documentary filmmaker and someone who produces entertainment. Both can be entertaining and informative and sometimes documentaries can be commercially successful. However that usually isn't the focus of the documentary filmmaker. It is more about telling the story or an event or people and in that process hopefully entertaining people, but more importantly informing them.
Yeah I watched Dan and Joel’s videos and it’s like watching History or Discovery channel and I love it. It is so interesting how the two (KorEng and Dan and Joel) creators have vastly different styles but they still introduce Korea to us foreigners, just in their own ways.
Is this only me or these boys really make me emotionally invested into their friendship? 😭

한국에서 배운거말고 좀더 새로운곳에서 해주세요. 한국은 서울,부산.제주도 말고도 지역별로 많아요,왜 꼭이태원,서울 부산,제주도죠?경기도에 많고 길도 어렵지ㅈ않는데
단씨는 모국어 하실때 카리스마 넘치는데, 한국어만 쓰면 순둥이 처럼 들려요. 뭐, 그래서 좋다구요. 조엘씨의 한결같은 천진난만한 모습도 좋구요. 좋은 조합입니다.
김태성 대부분의 한국어 어학당 선생님들이 여자분이셔서 어학당에서 한국어를 배운 외국인들의 어투와 표현방식이 여성스럽다(?)라고 하더라고요ㅎㅎ 이 요인을 차치하고서라도 제 경험상에도 그렇고 모국어랑 외국어를 할 때 톤이 많이 달라지게 되는 거 같아요ㅎㅎ
me 선생님이 어떻냐에 따라 말투도 달라지는 것 같아요 ㅎㅎㅎ 발음들도요 ㅎㅎㅎ 전 영어를 가르치는데 제가 가르치는 아이들은 발음이나 말투가 약간 제 스타일로 되는 것 같은 느낌이 ㅎㅎㅎ

Love this episode! I realised that nowadays the titles are in Korean only. I don't read or speak Korean at all and it's really hard for me to know what the video is about. It would be great if there's an English title too. Sorry if it's too much to ask!

When you click the video, the title changes to English but it would be nice to be able to know what the video is about before clicking it.
What i like about dan n joel is that they approach really deep inside a culture. Not what appears outside and mostly advertised but something you wouldnt think to go and find out like that old market episode they did. And that personally makes me favor dan n joel more, not that i dislike your videos love them. They keeping it really minimal and simple with their videos. No gimmicks no fancy guests just two lads delving into a culture to a deeper level.

I love this friendship so much. The thing I like about the two channela (Korean Englishman and DanandJoel) is that even though they have both korean contents, they are both quite different. Korean English man is like the introduction to Korea where their videos make us want to go to Korea but DanandJoel's videos is what make us want to stay in Korea! Both channels are good and I hope they have more success in the future!

I’m really excited to see Dan and Joel’s approach! As a student of Korean art and Archaeology, a lot of Korea that is represented on the internet (Kpop, kdrama, food, fashion) doesn’t always feel like the Korea that my friends experience and connect with. It will be really refreshing to see more local colours being represented rather than what foreigners just want to get out of Korea. ❤️ Love your videos as always
