I feel like everyone in the comments is talking about when she said that life isn’t just rainbows and butterflies and especially how in her film it seemed different... but the film also showed so many problems and I think that was her point: that on the surface, life may seem perfect and pastel pink, but when you look closer, there are serious issues like loneliness, depression, eating disorders, and more that lots of people suffer from. So even though the film looks pretty on the surface, and it IS beautiful - a true work of art - it still highlights important topics that we all need to help our fellow citizens of the world with. Just my opinion, and I’m so happy to have Melanie’s work there for me when I’m feeling down. ❤️

Beautiful explanatory! K-12 is even more than amazing, but I know a few people who take it only for the rhythm, they are missing the piece behind the songs and settings that shares a story of not only her and her character, but also many challenged people of the world.

If this isnt me every single say of my life- idk what is
I’m so happy she has come so far, she will probably never see this but I’ve been a fan a lot of my life since 2012 near the end when I got my iPad I heard toxic, then doll house, carousel etc, when the rumours spread I was bullied, I was bullied on social media and given death threats as I loved Melanie, I never stopped loving her, I was bullied in school, shouted at, people hit me just because I liked her and the rumours became like a monster, but now that she made K-12 I don’t have to worry if I post a picture of her or wear a shirt with her on it I just get hugs and people saying it’s nice, thank you Melanie I love you so much

Listen, I am pretty excited to see Melanie grow and get choices she makes in life soon honestly. She is an artist I honestly believe deserves to be heard more on the radio and broadcasting especially with directing and where her music takes place. I hope someday she does a collaboration with amazing very high up artists as well ; not that she isn't high enough nor have to fit into the popular trend of KRplus ; but she definitely deserves a lot more credit than given. And a lot less hate. Of course with her writing songs about sensitive topics; I can truly say she has boundaries in what she rights and that's probably the hidden theme. I feel a lot of artist should do that with their works ; it makes a long more memorable in my opinion. 💗 keep it up Melanie

This is the reason why I love Melanie Martinez so much. A few of my family and friends found her creepy and music too... weird. But it’s the message I look for. The story behind the lyrics, the tale behind the melody. It’s what I get lost in and love. Each song has addressed things that I’m either passionate about or wasn’t informed of and it has made me feel sad, powerful, valid, loved, angered and proud. She has managed to incorporate this in everything she has produced and it is a masterpiece. So much love to you Melanie, I will continue to support you in what you do x
