There is a reason all the other pop singing "queens" are yet to be seen on one of these.
The microphone in question has a hypercardioid polar pattern, which makes it pick up signal from further away and it's also used for us to hear her sing!

periurban could have used some pitch correction here and there. Flat and off key in spots as well as nasally. Painful at times. I was surprised because she's usually great.
And no one mention she is singing this perfect while sitting down! If you are a singer you know how difficult this is, specially while hitting those high notes. I am so excited I'll get to see her live in Las Vegas this upcoming November.

I noticed you commented on another NPR TDC which included The Pixies where you said NPR blew it because a certain song you felt should have been included wasn't. It's called TINY Desk Concert for a reason. It is a *small* sampling of the artists' work. Be more positive and your life will become much more satisfying.

You can’t manufacture this sort of voice. No amount of engineering can create this. Adele literally sounds like a record, like only a select echelon of artists before her.
I love Adele but there are a lot of amazing voices out there. Her music is amazing because she feels everything she sings. She's a well rounded musician with great writing skills backed with her emotions, but there were, and still are a lot of talented singers like her.

But her tone, her colour, the character of her voice is something really hard to find, combining with great writing skills and some instruments she plays makes the whole package so special. Unfortunately her "25" album wasnt as good as "21", and I have my doubts about the next one.
