- The ALL NEW TLX Type S is here and Acura is ready for competition like the Audi S4, BMW M340i, and Cadillac CT5-V. Under the hood is a new 3.0L turbocharged V6 pumping out 355HP & mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Power gets to the ground through Acura's SH-AWD system. On the outside you will see the unique front fascia, rear bumper, quad-tip exhaust and option performance 20in wheels. On the side you will get a choice of interior colors including Type S specific Orchid white, update infotainment, and unique steering wheel. Raiti's Rides , my kids were happy we bought the 2022 MDX Aspec due to the Twinkie box storage in the back. We are constantly laughing about the spaces now. The second row doors fit a taco , maybe half a burrito 🌯.

Great review Joe! I've sold my 2010 Acura TSX and I'm taking delivery of my new 2021 Acura TLX Type S in Apex Blue/Orchid interior and Shark Gray Y-Spoke wheels today! I'm very excited. I've had an inspirational poster of the concept car above my desk at work for over a year now. Your A+ review (especially your track drive) was really the driving force behind my final buying decision!
Damn it sounds way better when you are rolling than reviving it in neutral, also the 10 speed makes the lovely but fancy pop or crackle every time you up shift 🤩

I’d love for ACURA to come out with a Type S Coup (2 door) / smaller version.
no one buys coupe these days. Only a small population or enthusiasts would, and it would cost the manufacturer too much money to develop another car that barely sells.
I doubt there will be a coupe. But there will be an ILX replacement soon which will also come with a Type S version (probably ~300hp). I assume it will be an RSX Type S.

@@DragonKnightX12 nah, Crossovers are or the 4 door coupes. Enthusiasts like the sedans though but that’s not new, German sedans have always had more of a following than the coupes.

Wow, love the performance on the speedway. I am not a car enthusiast, however, the thrill of travelung super fast, hearing the rev in that powerful engine, speeding on the twisty drive almost makes me want to buy it. The truth is I work mostly from home, go out once a week for errands and shopping locally within 5 mile from home. Thisgorgeous sports car would be wasted on someone like me who works 24/7 at home and drives very little. Thank you for the exciting thrill of a ride. Great review. I went there with my son about nine years ago and we had the whole park to ourselves. We weren't racing or anything but we walked around and just had a great time. I love it out there

Get Type S. If you can afford couple Gs more, get M340i. No hate for g70 but it can't drive as good as good these two. Plus no sound on that car
@@ShohruhShamanov G70 drives BETTER. Watch videos from people with racing experience. The G70 is better than the M340i in handling. Plus the TypeS is fwd based awd. It just won't be as good.

Hey Joe! I test drove one today. It was off the hook in Sports + mode. Stupid fast from a dead stop. Engine sounds amazing and shifts are lightning fast if you allow it to do it for you. Best handling car I ever drove hands down. I found the ride to be quite soft, not stiff or bumpy at all.
However, I was told by the dealer it would be 6 to 8 months to get one so I wound up buying a 2021 TLX A-Spec with SH-AWD instead. I just didn't want to wait that long plus I got 60 months at 0.9% financing which I never could have done with the Type S. 75 months was maybe best I could have hoped for. So, I am not sad at all.
Finally, the market adjustments are real on the Type S. One dealer, I spoke to had one advertised at a $53,825 MSRP and after two days of talking finally decided to tell me they marked it up $5,000 and added an $1800 ceramic coat job. Final price was $60,970!🙄 I told them they were misleading potential customers by advertising it at MSRP while marking it up. I told them I wasn't interested and would not pay over MSRP So, I walked away from them.
Amazingly done, the type S has always been on my mind sense 07. But this one takes the cake, go Acura !!

Joe: I like the way you drive. I noticed you were were pushing that nsx and at the beginning they were braking early but as the laps passed they were braking later and trying to lose you coming out of the corner. Given the weight of that car nice work. Thanks for the vid.

Love it, especially in Apex blue which brings me back to Honda’s and Acura’s of the early 2000s. But I do agree, a manual would be nice as traditionally the Type S offered it as an option back in the day.

The 0-60 on this is between 4.7 secs to 5.1 its already been tested. Audi S4, Mercedes AMG C43 & the BMW M340I beats this. Its disappointing

I own a 04 NSX that got passed down to me from my father and daily a legend coupe. This is my dream car and I’m happy I’m finally old enough to purchase a type s :-) and of course had to check this out on raitis rides! Need to figure out how many damn twinkies I can fit in my glove box/map pockets/ center console/ AND cup holders

I love this channel! I had a 2007 TL Type-S with a manual 6 Speed and loved driving it even though it was front wheel drive. I have to agree Joe, big zonks for the sun roof and lack of a manual. I also prefer having the info-tainment screen lower in the dash and more like a square over a rectangle.
