- Let’s just cut to the chase here, I have no idea how the Los Angeles Sandwich from 1936’s 1,001 Sandwiches got its name. There is nothing about the ingredients or process that even remotely feels like it was LA-inspired. That said, it does sound like a tasty sandwich. And one of the few sandwiches we’ve done here that is really a breakfast sandwich. Woot!

I deeply respect how you take a bite from cheese slices in the "plus up" phase to match the existing damage done to the sandwich at hand.
Hilariously accurate.
It's a testament to his sandwich professionalism.
Amen! @@TuckerSP2011
Your condiment and spice cabinets are astonishing.
“The mean streets of LA, no butter “ 😂😂 love it
I don't know why this thought crossed my mind, but I really want a joke video one day where you don't stop plussing the sandwich up, like it eventually becomes a doorstop just bursting at the seams!
That mayo sounds bomb
That a breakfast burrito on toast
We do eat those in Los Angeles 😂
Ok, now you're making me hungry! Need some salsa...
I was gonna say, this is just a breakfast taco with bread, nothing wrong with that
I don't mind a slight sog when I'm having a scramble on toast so, for me, one side buttered might be the ideal start. Maybe some cracked black pepper as it's cooking too.
I kept saying where's the cheese? Was very happy to see you remedy that situation lol
I love the omelet/egg scramble sandwiches coming up in the past few months. Those are easy and tasty.
Wow, the opening pan game in this one was well above the clouds!
Los Sandwigles
That plus-up needed the grilled cheese treatment.
Solid breakfast sammie!
LOL, that is exactly how my granddad pronounced his hometown of Los Angeles! I need to find that cherry pepper mayo. I have a feeling it’s going to change my life. That reminds me, give Sir Kensington’s Chile Lime Crèma a go. That might change your life, too!
Best sandwich youtuber
Thank you so much!
This is almost identical to how my wife makes and eats scrambled eggs. Although she usually uses ham.
For me I want my breakfast sandwich to be crispy. But I might try that cherry pepper mayo
Hes still rolling. I love it!
normally sandwiches are meant to sit around for hours before eating, buttering with butter or mayo prevents that inevitable sogginess thus loss if structure…it’s also why lettuce is frequently used
I have made this sandwich many times unbeknownst that it had a name. I usually put it on an English muffin with some sriracha.
The backwards walk at the beginning 👌👌
Barry is now totally addicted to buttering bread. Snide comment aside, a moisture barrier for the bread is always a good thing (it just doesnt always have to be butter).
"French toast" that sandwich!
I would have to add the cheddar cheese to the eggs when they’re cooked and spread a little mayo on both sides.
Not the 'Mean non-Buttered" streets of L.A.😅
Would've added a sriracha avocado mayo, and fries for the real "California" take on it
Top 5 “breakfast” sandwich video hopefully coming soon 😉
That cherry pepper mayo....
woah. Matrix opening
I think there was a time that California surpassed Wisconsin in dairy output and that may still be relevant today? So yeah, why no butter? I thought the plus up could have been a little cheese and some green peppers and then call it a Denver sandwich.
Would probably be better if the eggs weren't scrambled but more of an omelette. While the omelette is still halfway cooked, place the toast on the uncooked side to moisten.
HP sauce would go great with this.
Absolutely!
without the cheese it's called a "Denver" sandwich where i come from
Doesn't that usually have green bell pepper in it as well?
That was NOT a filler sandwich. Do you keep a database/spreadsheet of sandwiches made and plus ups?
Yes, yes I do.
Needs cheese!
To truly be a Los Angeles sandwich you have to charge 500% what it's worth. Looks like a delicious breakfast sandwich with that plus up though!
😂 so true
Looks like a killer breakfast sandwich!
If an LA sandwich is a 7, you know a SF sandwich starts at an 8.
Well,if it was an SF version of this sandwich, it would be a breakfast burrito, so yeah.
The absence of butter or mayo indicates the relentless dieting of LA residents.
please never say los angeles again.
