Tavarish the type of guy to buy American style taillights on EUROspares and convert them to european style
its probably more expensive to get the euro ones, considering Lamborghini is Italian, its probably considered the "original look".
How would this car be street legal if that already was a reason for it not to be? :P
There might be a difference between what is street legal for an oem certification and what is legal for a owner modification. Chances are any inspection place wouldn’t know the difference anyway.
Err I'm totally clueless, but is there regular inspections required by USA? because I have NEVER had my personal vehicle DOT inspected...

...aaaaand, many months ago I said "no more exterior mods for my E46 coupe - now it's done"...then Tavarish makes a video about tail lights that really update the look of an older car. So, naturally, I go online "just to see" is there anything new for E46 coupe in terms of LED (facelift style) tail lights. Aaaaand...I score the set of OEM, used but in great condition, facelift coupe E46 LED tails. Just because Tavarish reminded me that on cars like that, you need to think about mods every day. Damn man...
I was going to do the same thing on my E46 but now I'm thinking that I'd rather just put money into a new F80 M3 lol
I love the look of the newer tail lights on the e46. The old lights made the car look very dated. The new lights make it look like a 2 year old car.
I wanted to change the front lights (and kidney grill) on my e90 but after realizing I'd need to do the LCI face-lift I lost the will. Now I feel like doing it again.

Those connectors are great! We use them a lot.. but they are very soft once heated up so it is important to let them cool down before pulling and twisting the wires around

As a professional vw tech i use those type of heat shrink solder connectors all the time when i do electric stuff.
Jimmy Landin..on a VW Toureg 2006, I replaced the bulb that was supposed to go in according to the manual.. The dash pops a "Check Brake Light" message.. The dealership said it could be a bulb in the wrong spot or wrong bulb. The dealership had no answer about what the issue could be.. What would the correct issue be? Thank you in advance
As a professional rigger of shit, the check brake light message appears when the computer detects a decrease in resistance, that means if the bulb you replaced it with doesn't draw the same amount as the factory bulb then you will get the message. This often happens when you switch to an led light in a newer car, some led kits made for specific cars have built in resistors to trick the car into thinking it has a conventional bulb installed. Honestly the reason for LED lights is to reduce electric draw and install a longer lasting more lumen producing solution and adding a resistor seems to me would defeat the purpose. The best way to solve your problem is to pull the one from the opposite tail light and buy an exact match to it.
@@16DenaliDuramax if it is the correct bulb i would start checking if there actually is current to the bulb. If there is an open circuit it will throw a faulty bulb warning. Pretty simple to check just get a multimeter and someone to press the brake and measure in the bulbslot if there is voltage there. And always check fuses and connectors before digging to deep into something. More often than not problems turn out to be really simple. I have overlooked really simple stuff alot of times because i thought to much about the problem.

I work for Renault and those heatshrink solder connections you used are perfect, that's exactly what Renault require us to use when carrying out a repair or recall. I think that for the turn signals you should make them light up in the direction that they work - like if you turn on the right turn signal you should make it look like an animation to the right if you get what I mean (I know I explain things like shit but you get the point)
Would be cool and pretty easy just put a relay delay inbetween each one for maybe 1/5th a second per light super cheap aswell

I would recommend using the LED version of the WY5W bulbs. They are much brighter, last forever, and are inexpensive for LED's.
I’d put carmenghia headlights on this thing raise it in the rear put drag slicks on take of the front bumper and replace it with chrome give it nitros locking rear diff put a second engine in rearrange the transmission put turbo in the second engine that would be a big block Chevy and tune it

Agreed. I thing there's no place for halogens in a car like that, especially in such a tail light design. But if the brake lights do indeed work with a variable voltage, and not with PWM, the LEDs for brake lights would be quite tricky. I think it's PWM, so they should work.

Yup, course it's trivial to switch the bulbs for LED ones in the future.
@tavarsh just change them out now while the lights are apart. Use some good quality LED bulbs, especially for the brake lights. Incandescent in tail lights is so 1990s.

I'm good with a soldering gun so it's normally not an issue, however those are convenient
