You should name the game theory episodes that didn't come out "Game Hypothesis" because they couldn't make it all the way to be a "theory"

But this is a hypothesis. The name _Game Hypothesis_ would make a lot more sense for his channel than _Game Theory_. Since Matt uses a lot of different fields of science in his videos calling them theories doesn't quite add up. You see, the word theory is used differently in science than it is in lay speak. The Theory of Evolution isn't called a theory because scientists just think it happened based on a small amount of evidence and assumptions. The Theory of Evolution has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt since almost all known evidence has pointed to that conclusion after multiple tests were run. Matt can't test his hypothesis in any way nor does he have anywhere near all the facts along with him not using all the evidence he does have at his disposal. Notably, since he does name his hypothesis videos theories, calling the videos that didn't come out _Game Hypothesis_ is a cute idea.

On a fun note, you really shouldn’t be inhaling helium to begin with.

Pretty interesting, but I think theres a simple solution. A red shell doesnt stop a kart, but rather jerks it and slows it down. The impact of getting rear-ended causes the driver to jerk foward, either letting go of the gas or breaking to gain control again. So I believe in real life it would be similar with a shell that big and a kart that flimsy to hit it and have it lose control like in the game.

This entire theory is solved by one thing: Power Moons regenerate their power over a short period of time. Think about it - there arent that many moons in the power plant, they're all just running on a cycle, so that a freshly recharged one is being drained while the others regain their power.
Your ship can fly to previous areas because the moons you have regenerate and serve as fuel to go back - but going to the next area takes more fuel, so you need a 'bigger tank' (more moons) to do it. Going to the moon ain't cheap on gas, amigo!

I'd also like to point out that most mario theories are pointless because of the illogical nature of the games

The entire point of Game Theory is to take game scenarios and find a plausible explanation using real world science. Sure, Power Moons could regenerate their energy but we don't have a real world equivalent to think about. What this episode does is use real world math and science to reverse engineer the possibility of a Power Moon actually existing and how much energy it would provide. I think the Power Moons being primarily comprised of Helium 3 is a very plausible explanation to this, wouldn't you? Just because it comes from a game world doesn't mean we can only think about it using game world physics. As we have seen time and time again, Nintendo likes at least referencing a real scientific explanation for a lot of their game mechanics.
I was scanning for this comment the second I heard him bring up the plant, I hope he sees this and decides reanalyse it.

This theory was brilliant. Especially considering the fact that helium used as fuel does give a decent amount of energy, but in fusion it could provide nearly limitless power for all of earth.

i think Moons in Odyssey are more of a Repair-item for the titular ship...when you first see the abandoned Odyssey, its all rusted to oblivion and needs just the bare-minimum amount of moons to get back to 'running' condition...but the sail(?) on top is only a mere sliver of its full potential, here...so you advance through the game, collecting more moons, making more Repairs to the Odyssey, enabling it to travel further (fuel is irrelevant, but Damage can hinder Distance)...eventually, you get enough moons to make it to the Earth's Moon, the Odyssey's sail(?)-top-thing now being a completely spherical Balloon(?)-top-thing, gashes in the exterior hull have newly welded patches filled in, etc etc; at this point you can travel Wherever you want, Whenever you want, even without collecting any additional moons (if you Do collect some, theyll just make the balloon-top-thing Bigger) because the Odyssey doesnt need Fuel...it only needed Repairs...but hey, thats just my theory, A FAN'S THEORY! thanks for reading :)

2:36 I always imagined it was a bit like time travel. Like in the game itself you can do the stars/moons in any order you want but in the actual game's universe, every visit to each place happens at the same time, one after another.
This only really works for Galaxy though since in Odyssey you can have things from other Kingdoms back in previous ones, plus the whole moon rock thing.

Thats actually quite simple. He may have super strenght because of the emeralds, or even he can have not-so super strenght, but the spikes on his hands make easier to break any object.

I think you were a couple calculations short of a complete theory. I would have liked to see a calculation with how much energy a moon's worth of Helium 3 has to see how much power is available at maximum efficiency. It would also be cool seeing how that compares to the power they're actually getting out of the moons in New Donk City. I also wonder if the "used" moons out the other side of the generator still have colored sparks, which would mean they're getting the energy from something else in the moons and leaving the helium as waste.
