The "you're next" message on granny's hand might not be a warning/threat, but rather granny handing off something in her secret past/present(?). Kind of like passing the torch.
As to the "he's alive" one, I doubt it's about her fiancé, but rather her dad or grandfather. While the "I planned this" would have something to do with her secrets, and her getting arrested was part of it. Possibly to get Maddie to follow whatever it is granny wants, or maybe just to reassure her that granny has everything under control.
The picture looked more like a polaroid or the like rather than a professional pic, but that's really subjective. It was probably taken during the wedding rehearsal. I hear that's a thing with big weddings.
I think somebody planned a lot more story, but I doubt it got made.
As to the game, it rather sucks for several reasons, and has nothing to do with the ads, which I'm sure qualify as deceptive advertising. Sadly they aren't the only scumbags doing that.

I’ve also seen an ad where Maddie is painting the wall, and pulls away wallpaper to reveal a door, which makes Grandma nervous, and when Maddie opens the door, grandma looks ashamed. We don’t see what’s behind the door, but whatever it is, it was clearly something that Grandma wanted to keep hidden…
Maybe a body? Maybe Authur's I mean MatPat showed the hand of granny's and how it said "He's alive" She could have Author behind the door you saw. But maybe bribed or threatened Maddie. This also could take place while she did stuff that was suspicious.
Crazy how some people agree. I thought it was just a wild guess and now that I re-read it it sounds like it can be accurate.

There’s another ad where Maddie leans against a statue and an underground staircase appears. There’s also an extended version of Granny getting arrested where after Maddie sees the writing on Granny’s hand the car drives away and the cop looks at Granny in the rear view mirror, smiles and hands her the keys to her handcuffs. Granny smiles back and takes off the handcuffs .
I don’t know if we see the cop but in the rear view mirror his eyes & eyebrows bear a striking resemblance to Roddy the building inspector. Then again you would expect Maddie to have remembered that guy…. so maybe that’s just how they draw everybody’s eyes and eyebrows

Just see this! The complot is so much huge because she is arrested for murder, but she "escape" so Maddie will be suspended for another thing
And there's a version of the arrest moment where a man is hiding behind a tree, but Maddie never gets to see who he is! And of course, all of the live action ads we have now
I've seen that ad you're talking about. But I've seen them more extended one, where
the way the ad campaign works is incredibly meta. You play as Maddie and are used to help rebuild the house [play the game]. Ultimately, this is for the benefit of the grandma [game devs] and they get big big moneys and u get scammed.

As a player of Merge Mansion... it's actually one of the BETTER mobile games in that regards. Yes, there are microtransations, but with the relatively recent addition of daily tasks... and unless you are too impatient for minor timewalls and have to spend every bit of in-game currency as soon as you get it... you actually make gems at a very fast pace.
If you play the game casually, as it's supposed to be played, you can play the game without ever spending a dime on it.
I think its for kids to find pure humor on the game ads thats why they make it funny well most of hem to say the least.....

Pre-wedding photos exist, Matpat. They are usually taken on an entirely separate day to the wedding too.

@@joshuanash6401 Yeah, but the issue is that every family make their own choices on these things. Also overall I think the number of weddings being run by the marrying couple is increasing, so the wedding options are a lot more in control of the couples. So yeah I would say pre-wedding photos are a bit more numerous.

i just saw an ad of the game. Granny was arrested and on her hand was written "you are next". In the next shot however was the police guy giving her they key for the cuffs and she unlocked them, then she grinned and the ad was over. So she has some connections

It’s possible that the fiance just didn’t show up- most people do staged wedding photos before the actual wedding day, when there’s more time and less pressure.
That wouldnt fit into the hand message tho. Unless granny is referring to grandpa charlie and that the two of them are framing maddy for their crimes(assuming charlie has commited crimes)

Maddie has a solid alibi for the fire: being at the wedding. Which also clears her of the potential murder. As for being an accessory, there are 2 outs for her. One is the fact that she was completely unwitting, having no reason to suspect the pie. The other is that Granny can't possibly escape. Filing your way out is impossible to accomplish, even for a younger person.

I'd like to add to this theory by saying that Arthur might have ran away from the wedding because of the grandma herself. If Matpat's theory is correct and her plan is to use her granddaughter as a way to get the family fortune all to herself, then it would make sense for her to scare the fiancee away. Then all would fall right in to her plan.
Or the grandma could've forced him to run away from the wedding, maybe even setting him up to date her granddaughter and leave her heartbroken so that she's left dependent on grandma (speaking of, where are her parents?). As for the house burning down, that could serve as the final blow since not only does she think that her ex fiance is dead, but she has no choice but to live with the grandma in the old mansion (assuming that Arthur's death was faked)

I've seen multiple ads where grandma is raking leaves over knives, and looking at Maddie suspiciously. I saw one shortly after where grandma is burning a piece of paper and Maddie walks in. Grandma then gets scared and runs to multiple hidden compartments. "What is Grandma hiding?"

I think the “he is still alive” and “you’re next” messages might’ve had a different meaning. Granny might not be quite as evil as we think, maybe Arthur set the fire, faked his own death, and framed Granny for it, and the message “you’re next” is warning Maddie that Arthur is coming for her next.
But the granny made an evil face, why would the granny do that face in a situation like that.

I think Pied off is referring to the the “Pied” who, in french, means “Foot”. Since French is known to be a romantic language, it would not surprise me that they used a french word to describe being ditched

What’s really funny about Matpat argument is that I’ve never seen the “you’re next” on granny’s hand during the cop car ad. In all the “mystery “ads for this game, I’ve only ever seen her hand says “He’s still alive.” So maybe she has him hidden in the mansion some where? So I know this video came out nearly a year ago but having watched both of your Merge Mansion videos lately one thing caught my attention - in the second one you talked about how Grandma scared Arthur off as he was getting ready for the wedding. I'm curious about when exactly he would've left though, considering the photo of Maddie & Arthur we see in this video with them in their wedding outfits. I would've thought he'd probably leave immediately after she scared him, but clearly somehow he and Maddie had a picture together in their wedding attire.

not going to lie, i was kinda intrigued by those same ads with the possibility of Lore / Story. I remember 8 or 9 years ago when i started playing a facebook game which was basically a themed Find the Item game, but it had a barebones mystery and a villain, and you would get small text and static images "cutscenes" after each level you solved and it was perfect for me at the time. So don't underestimate the power of Lore or Story or Mystery... better yet, combine all 3!
I mean the ads lay the basic lore out for you its not exactly hidden.
There is another ad I saw where grandma had a pair of hedge trimmers w/ blood all over it.
The add that I'm seeing now is "He's alive" instead of "you're next"
The "you're Next" part could be a warning. So that Maddie can make a plan to escape as well. Who knows, I'm sure there's plenty of ways to piece together those messages.

I'm just confused because I've seen another version of that drive away scene in an ad where her hand say "he is alive" and also the version in the thumbnail with "I did it" so I'm not sure what's up with that.

I’m not sure if you got this ad in the states but in Australia we got an extended cop cat ad scene where Granny has her hand on the window saying “He is alive” and when they drive off we see the policeman throw a pair of keys back at granny as she takes off the hand cuffs
