Family is at the center of a lot of the choices and milestones your Sim will be faced with in the Growing Together Expansion Pack. For example - will they let their parents move in with them? Saying ‘no’ will impact those relationships and saying ‘yes’ could make life at home a lot more complicated. What if your Sim’s parents don’t get along with their partner? For you, the choice might be whether you want to keep the peace or stir up some drama.
New relationships are getting more dynamic too. If your Sim goes out to meet new people, they might find someone they instantly like who they could be friends with for life. Or they could meet a lifelong enemy. Social chemistry will make some Sims click and some Sims clash, and how they navigate these feelings is up to you.

Please also be updating the photo system to compliment this!! We don't just need more poses, we also need to be able to take a family photo with all the sims in the household.
We need to be able to frame the screenshots we take! I am always adding a random sim to the house to be my wedding photographer. 😅

For real. It was a base game feature in Sims 2 I think, and I never understood why this feature never made it to Sims 4 until now. Without social and family related dynamics, the Sims are just dull dolls. I've been playing Sims 4 for almost 500 hours and liked it enough, but I never had the same connection with my Sims like in the old days...

So funny players need to micro manage their dynamics while random townies or unplayed household has nothing, just generated sim. These dynamics will surely has little effect like a moodlets that last for hours similar to sentiment. yawn 🥱🥱 please release sims5 already

Canes for elders, strollers, funerals, imaginary friends, cars, burglars, more gameplay for pets, and a proper Daycare profession would have been great features to include in this pack. Also, why all the dental hype but no new dentist career?? So far, everything I've seen of Growing Together makes me think it could have been a Game Pack. I don't think this is $50 worthy.. especially when modders have already provided a lot of this gameplay for free. All we've seen in Growing Together as main features are things that would have been small details in previous sims' games generation packs.

Because everybody expect it won't be in the game. Is this your first time watch gameplay trailer? or are you from parallel universe? Not everything in the ads will be in the game. Everyone that play the sims 4 since 2014 already knew this. We are talking about EA
No offense but I feel like most of this stuff should just be in the base game or in a parenthood refresh or something. It's probably going to be super glitchy like everything else in this game, and I feel like bug fixes for other packs should be a priority. This game has been out for over eight years, and it costs over $1,000 and it just doesn't feel like it's worth it.

agreed. i like to build terraced houses on larger lots but theres no denying it sticks out like a store thumb when theres a row of 4 and then empty space all round it.

Ugh YES I've needed terraced houses since like 2004!! I know the Sims is made by Americans but come onnn don't forget about us. It would be so cool if (at least in some worlds/neighborhoods) we can freely place lots again, and place them right next to each other to make terraced houses 💭

That is a really lovely trailer, and I love having the idea of family dynamics in the game, though I would have preferred it came with Parenthood, but still, I think it will totally make the Sims 4 a little more exciting.

A couple things I noticed in the trailer!
-Atlas (the little boy) is the only one to look overjoyed when he hears the doorbell ringing since he loves and gets along very well with his grandfather Sebastian
-If you look carefully in the background when Sebastian is crying over a TV show, you can see a picture of his wife who has presumably passed away (and also why he showed up alone)

I want to know if family dynamics can change via gameplay. Like Atlas's relationship with his sister is difficult right now, but when they age up a bit and have different positive experience with each other, can that dynamic change to close on it's own? Or for our own story telling purposes, would we have to manually change it?
EDIT: @TheSims replied and said the dynamics can change on their own over time with enough interactions! 😁
Based on the trailer it seems like they might? The narrator mentioned that the parents relationship "stood the test of time" because of their compatibility as well as the many milestones they had achieved together so that kinda implies that things could have changed if that wasn't the case. It would be pretty lazy if you had to always change it yourself.
I fear that it is something we manually change. Narrator said "as if it was handpicked..." which tells me they maybe yet again to lazy to be bothered to make that feature into the game. I wish I'm wrong though. But then again this is a $40 pack, so I suppose we just don't expect that this is going to be the best pack ever. Pretty sure it'll come with little gameplay that doesn't really work.

I’m skeptical due to the lack of things shown. I am excited, although I’m worried about the depth and complexity of these systems. I’m trying my best not to get my hopes up, but it’s so hard; this expansion pack is the one thing I’ve been dreaming of. I guess time will tell. 😭❤️

A lot of these gameplay features and relationship adjustments should have been in the base game. Infants? Sims having unique feelings towards different sims based on interests, hobbies, history and personality? All were a part of the Sims 2.
Infants will be basegame, but based on the Sims team's descriptions a lot of stuff involving them will be in this pack🙄. I 100% agree with your opinion though.

4 generations deep, been playing since Bob Newbie in Sims 1, and this is the first time my eyes teared up during a trailer. I'm old so I related with grandpa. ❤ I just hope this doesn't make it super hard to make super close families, just because they have different interests. ❤️

I’m excited for family dynamics! I know about sibling rivalries , but they’re incredibly difficult to cause because most siblings will stay buddy-buddy with each other no matter what. Hopefully this update will change that!
interesting how there was no footage of actual gameplay in this gameplay trailer. we already know you can make a nice cinematic ad for the features that will probably be broken on launch day. don’t forget to preorder so they can later sell you recolors of those same meshes in a kit for $5.

или в дополнении Родители на крайний случай…
Тоже не покидало ощущение во время просмотра, что это просто трейлер базовой Симс. Забавно, что Симс - симулятор жизни, получает дополнение "жизненный путь" (что одно и то же, по сути) XD Какой-то недоделанный симулятор, выходит. Имхо, новая система взаимоотношений должна быть бесплатным обновлением. И как бы сразу было понятно - раз есть предпочтения, то симы должны на их основе взаимодействовать не только с предметами, но и друг с другом.... Иначе система "нравится-не нравится" выглядит, мягко говоря, слишком урезанной.

Can we talk about the real-life parent stress you experience with this pack? This pack was needed! From the family dynamics to the infant quirks.......finally not disappointed! The pack finally highlights Babies-toddlers and I'm here for it.

i was hoping for more traits tbh , ik infants are getting their own , but i wanted new traits for all ages since it’s a family pack. sims 4 has been really lackluster with trait’s imo.

Why haven't they done a Wild West pack?
You could have three places in the neighborhood. The town where the Saloon, sheriff's office and store are. The cattle ranches and farms area. The Native Indian reservation area. This could be an opportunity to get rid of the stereotypes. It would be great to play a ranch, or learn traditional herbal remedies or shamanism. There would be horses and new careers. It would be great to use with things like on grid living.
So glad we’re paying $55 CAD for things that should be in the base game!

Do y’all just expect everything to be free at this point? Most games you buy always have content you have to buy in game nowadays so the sims have to make money somehow. The infants are already a free update - a whole new life stage with new traits/personalities as well as Cas items. None of the “generations” packs in the sims have ever been base game
@@adoringlymiley that's not the point. Just look at the stats. The Sims 3 had round about 20 EPs. The Sims 4 already has almost 50 EPs (I mean all the packs, not only expansion). And they did take a lot of things from base game and made it into expansion packs, maybe not this one but if you've been playing the past games than there's no need for me to explain. Whirl pools were always included in the base game, now they made a whole pack just for you to get whirl pools wtf (until they added the one whirl pool for the 20th (!!!) birthday)

@@adijaya4517 Yes, I play Sims 4, and have been playing Sims for 23 years. Milestones are a new feature coming to Sims 4 with Growing Together. What I was saying is they remind me of the actual memory system in Sims 2 rather than what we have now. I don't think it will be the same as Sims 2, but I'm excited to see a similar looking feature is being added.

Yay!!! Compatibility is based on likes/dislikes!! I love it already! Very excited for that, and the new world. Really hoping that the rest of the lots are placed close together or even share fence lines. The shell homes are always more realistic dally positioned than the playable lots (which, like this family home, are just plonked down in a park).
The narration for this is great - love the dry humour, and it tells you a lot about the new mechanics.
Remember The Sims 3, when we had this content included with the price of the actual game? If you're gonna release half a game because you haven't made the other half yet, don't make people pay for the updates.
Really? We had dynamics in sims 3? Im a huge sims 3 lover and no we did not. The only Compatibility was zodiac signs. Which was basic compatibility besides traits.

I am so excited for this pack, milestones looks like a memories system (FINALLY) and truthfully if I had that in Sims 4 my gameplay would go to the next level, getting to know each sim personally like in The Sims 2, being able to leave playing a household and coming back to it later and actually remembering all the things that happened - this would be amazing and genuinely I am so excited.

I feel like it's taking an extremely long time for us to get the features we want in the game. They've been doing better but still have far to go.
I hope the luggage the father left with at the end is also a little animated detail we will see. I really like that you guys took your time. Hope it translates in gameplay!

can i just say that i love how calm and straight to the point this trailer is? no flashy scenes, no jarring music… the team seems confident with the content of the game 🤞🏽

Could there be another life stage in the base game such as Pre-Teens that can go to Middle school? Since children go to Elementry School, and Teens go to High School, There should be something in the middle going to middle school in the base game in my opinion.
Kind of like how infants are in between newborns and toddlers.

This was adorable! And family dynamics? Oh boy. Looks like my sims will probably be close as there are so many of them, and more to come. Seriously. There are currently seven kids in the current generation- ranging from baby to teenager- and two more on the way. Their grandparents have three kids, and grandma has a brother who has one grandson with a second on the way.

I love this! This was such a well-made trailer. I love you showed off all the new gameplay features. On another note, the build items I can see on their home look so good. I love all the stylized glass in windows, arches, and doors.
