  • Why is it difficult to find one’s self? Many of us often struggle with this, feeling unsure about who we truly are or feeling a bit lost in the process. Our lives keep changing, so how do we really find our true selves?
In this Not Alone episode, Valeria sits down with existential psychotherapist, Sara Kuburic. They talk about Sara's upcoming book, "It's On Me," and delve into what existential therapy is all about. They also discuss how we can let go of our old selves, how we end up losing our identity, and how we can find ourselves even when life gets messy and complicated.
Join us for this insightful conversation that'll not only get you thinking but also provide valuable insights into navigating the complexities of life and self-discovery.

I’m 24 and I just lost my mom to cancer after taking care of her for a year. This couldn’t come at a better time. I have not felt like myself at all over the last year and now that she’s gone, I have felt so lost. Thank you for this insight

So much love for you..! I cannnot even think how difficukt it was for you.. My mum îs struggking with cancer...but i m 47...🤐. IT would have been right to be soo prepaired to afront something like this. I am not...

@@dianamihalache3360 My heart is with you! It doesn't matter what age you are. Watching a parent fight for their life is something nobody should have to go through. I would give you a big hug if I could. Going through this whole situation has made me hyper aware of how precious time is. My mother and I never had a great relationship when I was growing up, but at the end, when I was taking care of her, our relationship with each other was so sweet. She called me her angel and her trooper. She was very difficult to be a caretaker to. Even the nurses at the hospital lost their patience with her a few times. I put aside everything she put me through as a child to be there for her, and spend as much time with her as I could despite how difficult she was. I am so grateful that I did that. There was nothing I could do to save her or take her out of the hell she was going through. The only thing I could do was be there for her because I believe love conquers all. And that's what I tell everyone going through similar situations. At the end of the day, you only have control over your actions and the best thing you can do is spend as much time as you can with your mom. It's okay to feel unprepared or scared. Who wouldn't? Your mom is probably scared, too. That's why it's important to express your love to each other right now, because no matter what happens, our soul lives on long after our bodies do not.

This is exactly what i needed for... it's sooooo hard... when i fight with myself... I'm doing the work from 5 years... and finally start to shape and accept my self... little by little ... thank you for the "release" and accepting that all of this is a process...it's sooo hard to accept that "you are the one"...

One thing chronic illness has thought most, is YOU ARE NOT WHAT YOU DO AND NOT DO. So I have to disagree with that definition.
