Just wanted to say thanks for what you're doing. You do what I *LOVED* to watch as a kid on car shows where they actually worked on cars that facilitated my fascination with cars & trucks. It's so interesting watching your journey on each car you do. I hope you get to continue to do this for as long as you want to. I know that I'll be tuning in on the regular.

There are actually 2 Verde Mantis for the Lamborghini.
1-color code LZ6A- is a solid color like you have there
2- color code L0L6- is the actual color of your car wich is a pearl green color.

I've done paint work on many, many exotic vehicles using a similar system. The system I used was by a company called Accu-spray. Mixed my own paints using b.a.s.f coatings.

so.... lamborghini paint codes are not really useful for colormatching as they leave out flake/pearl/metallic content. seen this before.

Been using turbine for 5 years. never looked back. Its fantastic.

Congratulations on your build, plus the help of everyone. You got friends! Also, that Maxi-Miser 3000, hose and guns is sweet.
The normal shop has 1/4” NPT fittings and use the same hoses normally used for impacts, air ratchets and other tools that contain oil and water. A pressure drop from the compressor to the gun, based upon the length of the hose requires increased air pressure to get 30 psi at the gun. Then losses inside the gun to the tip drops to 10-12 psi.
This is a game changer for the future! I enjoyed the build.

That paint is just the basecoat. The car is painted in a tri coat I'm pretty sure. When you spray the pearl coat it will change the color.

Ask Ed Bolian where he got his LP640 painted. I think it was in Arizona. The Verde Draco on it is gorgeous.

It's a custom paint with added pearl and would be pretty easy to just spray the entire car. keep your paint and just get some pearlizer. You have paint talent, just keep growing and play around with flake and other things to upgrade your paint skills that much further.

Make sure you leave the laundry room door open, if your furnace or water heater is running it can cause a roll out and possibly a fire.

One major thing that comes to mind..... hose down the floor (with water) then sweep it.... then repeat that a few times.... that debri/dust on the floor can make a difference.

Find a paint supply place that has a sprayout room for doing color match cards and bring a mirror or gas lid for reference and thats the way you get 100% match

verde mantis exists in different codes.
you got a LZ6A that is just flat color, the Verde Mantis L0L6 is a pearl.

I remember parker from vehicle virgins he got a 1016 hood for his lambo same colour and he had to get it repainted due to it not having any pearls as its a known issue with verde mantis that it doesnt call for pearl effect when its a very pearly colour

I believe pearl is mixed into a clear "intercoat", as in base->clear with pearl->clear

Parker w/ VV had the same issues on his Huracan when he had his hood painted. It was flat with no pearl, they had to redo it.

Does it have a mica clear coat on top of the base coat? You might be able to get that effect your looking for.

it is a 3 stage paint! Parker from VV had a similar issue with his hurican when he had a new hood painted. PPG code doesn't call for a pearl coat for some reason but it is a base, pearl, clear coat paint

I usually hate loud color cars but that green is DOPE on the Lamborghini

Vehicle Virgins had this same problem when he was trying to paint match his carbon fibre hood. The Verde Mantis paint code in their systems says there is no pearl but he spoke to Lamborghini and they said there is an error in the system that everyone uses to mix paint. It should contain pearls.

Dude, Parker from Vehicle Virgins had the same issue when he had his new Ten Sixteen Ind. hood painted at a body shop and it came out flat. He had to then take it back to them and told them to put the pearl/metallic particles put into the paint. Once they did it a second time it came out perfect. So message Parker about this issue, he should help.

Had a car years ago that was a self paint. it was red with a blue pearl. The pearl is a separate application that you spray on top of the base or mix in with the first couple coats of clear I think. its one or both of those. Anyway its not super easy to spray and my car came out streaky and when the light hit it right looked purple. Might be an advanced exercise to try on something less expensive.

Being such a new, rare car, with a super limited color, you'd probably need to send a sample to BASF's paint lab to be formulated. That can take months, but it's the only way to do it properly. That would be most likely what any repair shop will have to do anyways.

A complete professional repaint for the best result is the best option. Your new paintbooth isnt getting used for this job but on a 150k car the result matters :)

There is a Shop in Las Vegas, New Look Collision they are Lambo certified and can paint it. 🤙🏼

I would think you could get shop in Seattle to paint that. There are many quality shops and the local dealer should have one to recommend. I'd look into Queen City

Parker from Vehicle virgins had trouble getting a paint match on his huracan. Is because there are 2 different colors of verde mantis apparently. He made a video about it where he got a carbon hood painted by a shop and it came out the same color as those cards you sprayed.

Vehicle virgins had this problem when painting his 1016 hood for his lambo. I think It turned out lambo didn’t include the pearl info for Verdi mantis.

One trick is adding pearl pigment to the first clear coat. Then finish with a clear, clear coat. But those custom paint jobs rarely ever match. Good Luck!

Hey man I got a question why don’t you have the color scanned instead of using the paint code.? Getting the color scan gets you a closer match for blending the color.

I believe the car was painted with PPG originally. If you check under the hood (frunk) it should say what paint was used

You should hang some tacky net. It really helps keep the dust down.

Im no paint pro so i may be wrong but i think the pearl is in the first stage of "clear" . You probably have the right base color but need to spray on the pearl/clear.

As always another great episode as far as the color match I believe vehicle virgins ran into the same problem you may want to drop him A-line if you're still intrested in painting the car

I remember Vehicle Virgins had an issue with paint when he had body parts of his Lambo painted. I believe it was the same issue with the pearl not being in paint despite having the correct paint code.

There are 2 different verde mantis paints that came on the huracan. Parker at vehicle virgins came across the same issue when he had something done to his huracan. I would contact him because he knows exactly what the deal is with that paint color difference.

Go with DuPont and have them color match with the camera. Then do a few swatches to match the pearl coat then clear them with real clear, when they are ready then color blend . Rear drivers quater, hood and passengers fender. Remember to use color match sealer so if you get a paint chip its green under the paint
