    Hey, turn the turbos around, stack em closer together, (on top of or on the side of the intake) and have a roof scoop feed the turbos wit fresh air that runs over the car. Also this will give the exhaust free flow, instead of having to fight resistance in the bend around. Doesn't change much, except much better cooling, better sound from the exhaust probably.

      @nostromov7892 4 년 전

      It's -actually- not THAT difficult, with today's CAD software tools and precision hardware (cutting, molding, jigs).
      What's kinda frustrating, btw., is when (virtually!) everybody talks about how carbon-fiber is so much stronger than steel and blah, blah... While it may be true, the problem arises when it reaches the breaking point: there is no absorption, no warping to lessen forces - like there may be the case with some metals.
      So, IMO, benefits regarding its weight (and, I suppose, rigidity) are greatly reduced in this fashion. In fact, is it even "worth" taking the risk(s)? It cannot be easily "attached" to steel, or other metals (ofc., can't be welded, or anything) and this makes its use (highly!?) dangerous?!

    • @floodx4947
      @floodx4947 4 년 전 +2

      @@nostromov7892 I am hoping that the mystery "big box" is a 3D printer. Modeling the parts in CAD, and printing the molds would likely be a LOT easier than trying to use the actual car part. And then there is the issue of not having an autoclave. But, I am pretty sure, one way or the other, Chris will get it done.
      As for attaching CF to other materials, panel-bond adhesive is just as strong as welding. The "standard" for any connection is if the material will fail before the connection does, and bonded panels will almost always fail at the panel itself, and not at the bond.

    Keep the roof and add a scoop or those Turbos will starve for air, keep the rear panels, make sure she cuts through the air like a speeding bullet, do Khyzyl justice and finally bring something of his to life... and focus on how fast this car will be capable of going without turning it into a 1500hp parachute... You'll need more than power and big tires. Downforce/Drag will be about the only thing keeping this thing on the ground, and in traction... Leroy's gettin' the smoke next season!

    Honestly, if this is pulled off it will be absolutely incredible. I have no doubt you can, i just hope within your time frame. I have seen Khyzyl's designs in the past, however they've always seemed pure conceptual and impossible. Seeing 1 really being made is just going to blow everyone's mind.

    This is going to be so legit! One thing to keep in mind about the LS is the oil system. Any corner that pulls 1g + will threaten the oil system. Are you planning to do a dry sump?
