- Learn how to replace the ENTIRE front suspension of your car in this two episode series. Here I will show you how to install a brand new wheel bearing, ball joints, control arms, tie rod, strut, and axle.
The ball joint and wheel bearing has to be pressed into the knuckle and I have a bunch of tips and tricks to make that easy. I show how to properly install a tie rod (safely) and get an accurate measurement so you can get the car aligned. I also show you how to properly torque down bolts with bushings so you don't tear them. The rest of the suspension parts are pretty simple to install and then we go for a ride to see how much better the car handles!

The other day I spent 3 hours chasing wires and I only got paid an hour of labor. It's the shop who makes all the money lol. Plus most mechanics/technicians love Chrisfix, ETCG, Humble Mechanic, EE, and that one guy who rails lines of coke and sleeps in his trunk. Even the older guys watch these. You can learn a lot even from DYIers

I've been doing this for many decades. Even though you're using hand tools and no full fitted workshop it's very clear you know what you're doing. A lot of very good guidance for those that don't. Really good videos Chris.

I just bought an 08 volvo c30 t5 and the entire suspension needs replaced and both estimates for work was over 3 grand. Nearly half of what I bought the car for. This is pure gold. Got the parts on order since I already had 3/4ths the tools needed for this.

When I was younger I used to buy the most expensive tools together with a close friend, by paying 50-50 and then sharing them while needed.

I've always enjoyed learning how cars work and watching a suspension system installed really shows how steering and drive power make sense. I do love how you explain the pressing of the ball joint and the bearing. Id say inform the viewer that on most cars you're able to get the control arm with the balljoint already pressed in. The same goes for the bearing. Although the bearing will be more common to have to press it in.
It's nice when they have parts like that but good to show regardless!

Used this info to completely rebuilt the front suspension on my '99 4x4 Dakota. Even if the Dakota suspension is more complex, torsion bars being involved, the same principle applies as described in this excellent video and it turned out very nice...Thanks for posting!
do u know how to get stock torsion? ima have to rebuild my suspension and steering and im not sure how to key the torsion bars to stock level. 98 dakota 4wd here.

I did not foresee my driver's side lower control arm bolt being blocked by the transmission mount on my '03 TL lol! Found a video of someone removing the same LCA on the driver's side of an '02 Accord, lo and behold it's the same suspension structure as my TL! I had to raise the transmission a few inches to remove the mount (so nerve-racking) but I did it and completed the full suspension rework. You can do anything if you do your research and get your hands dirty! Thanks ChrisFix, your detailed videos give me so much confidence working on my car!! :)

@pizza cat lover for drifting a supercharger would fit nicely because it delivers linear power instead of having to deal with more unpredictable turbo output while trying to modulate the throttle
blazar 0 Bruh who doesn’t want a charger on a drift car? that’s literally perfect. the only time you should put a turbo on a drift car is if it’s sequential, has ALS, or you’re a very experienced drifter
