Stanley was a serial cheater so he probably expected that of everyone else. Dwight, on the other hand, is usually loyal, (especially to whoever values loyalty the most), so he probably expects loyalty from others. It's good characterization.

People sh*t on seasons 8 & 9, but I loved watching this friendship mature and deepen. One of the best arcs.
Just recently finished watching the entire series. And i gotta agree. I especially adore how Jim chose good ways to prank Dwight before his wedding. Just shows that Jim still cares somewhat for him.
I honestly hated these seasons, if it wasn't for Dwight and these two's bond i would have definitey quit. Also Stanley and Creed, thank God they never change

It's actually not sad because he laughs at himself when he sees that Jim isn't actually there. I figure he realized that he quickly spared himself from showing any more emotion to Jim, but also feeling touched by Jim's words. It makes his reaction by shoving Jim's overflowing papers off his desk all the more genuine and hilarious.
Letβs not forget the time Dwight saved Jim from Roy.

I just finished watching the show for the first time. Man it was the best show ever π
I just watched it this year. I don't think it ever aired in austrian/german TV (or if it did, only on a lesser known channel and rare) and so when it launched on Netflix Austria this year, I immediately wanted to see it, because I always read how awesome it is. And it is awesome. Kind of like Parks and Recreation, which I had already watched before
Dwight firing both Jim and Pam, so that they can get a severance package of a month salary for each year they've been with the company. π’ππ

The scene of Dwigth firing Jim and Pam is the perfect scene of the show for that friendship.
Dwight is all rules and being right, love the company to the point that he dont need to be here, we wants to be, and he goes and fire the two with a LOT of money of the company because of the friendship.

When people say βThe Office isnβt worth watching after Michael leavesβ it makes me mad. Although Michael was and still is an integral part of the story, thereβs still so much more that goes on when he leaves. And like, Jim, Pam, Dwight, Angela, Kevin, and Stanley etc. are still there, and they crack me up. Totally worth watching the whole show 20+ times and counting.
For me the real magic is in the first 2 seasons, the third and fourth are just behind. After the first 4 seasons the show steadily declined.

INTERESTING! I was more focused on the irony of him criticising Dwight's decision-making, when he had submitted himself to a stupid prank simply on Pam's orders. But yes, that is a great reading of it.
I'm so happy the actor understood Jim's character better than the writers.
There's probably quite a few scenes missing in this clip but here's a few that I remember of the top; Jim concerned about Dwight's concussion and driving him to the hospital, Dwight's delight when Jim returns to his Christmas party, and the little talk they have on top of the work bus.
And when Michael fires Dwight in front of everyone for going to NY without telling him why, and goes to the parking lot and Jim comes back with Karen, Dwight gives jim a goodbye hug for no reason, was also a highlight of their relationship as friends in spite of their working relationship.

YES! The concussion scene was very telling, because at that point, Jim was still irritated by most of Dwight's behaviour.

Michael reappearing in the series finale was the icing on the cake. I'm glad they casted Steve for the role. Initially he wasn't casted as he was supposed to do another NBC show called Come to Papa (coincidentally a show about working for a newspaper). Bob Odenkirk was selected instead. But in a twist of fate, Come to Papa was cancelled, and thus Michael was available for the role. He only watched half of the British pilot and just winged it, doing his best to do this own thing rather than copy Gervais. And it worked.

That episode where they go out on a sales call together and actually make a great team. They have that coordinated bit comparing the customer service of Dunder Mifflin vs the competitors.
One of their best friendship scenes is when Dwight does his family tradition Christmas thing and Jim entertains the entire thing but leaves in the middle of it for Athlead making Dwight all upset only for Jim to end up coming back and Dwight getting super excited and giddy. Wish it was put on this video

I strongly believe at some point Dwight knew about the pranks but played along for their dynamic to continue ESPECIALLY the whole Cathy bed bug situation, he not once considered Jim to be cheating and helped many times to get out of that situation
2:44 is lowkey one of my favorite moments in the whole entire show, Jim could of easily just said Eff it, but he came BACK for Dwight, the duration of the show is their evolution as friends, and honestly, its fantastic, one of the best parts about the show. I don't know how many times I need to say it but Dwight is the oldest son with a head full of justice and responsibilities and Jim is the baby brother beloved by all and doing whatever he wants, and the fact that Jim picks on Dwight so much is more indicative of an annoying little sibling who seems to devote all of their time to getting on your nerves, but at base just thinks about you often and is looking for a way to interact and spend time with you and have your attention and make memories with you, than straight up malice aforethought bullying, and that really shows when, any time one of them seems to be heading for actual danger that they couldn't handle by themselves, the other one springs in and their ability to work WITH one another and fall into each other's step is unsurpassed by anyone who is not actually in romantic love with each other. They are just family. Dysfunctional? Yeah, of course, but full of devotion and comfort and care.
Side note: Pam, on a different plane, is Dwight's little sister/cousin

Recently, we fell in love
And I was very insecure about dating him , scared of all the things that could go wrong, scared of not being pretty enough, scared of ruining or friendship.
Turns out, much like me, he was very scared about it too.
But on our first date, he gave me a mug written "not a bad day" on it
And inside the mug there were cards with this line from Jim.
And I'll never forget how I felt in that moment.

I hate when people say that Michael was the "best character" in this show, and that it lost all its charm when he left. My favorite aspects of the show are the relationships between all of the other characters, particularly Dwight and Angela's and Jim and Pam's story arc. These are all amazing characters and it's because of them that I enjoy watching the show, not Michael being awkward (even though his character is great too).
I didnt care for Michael at all, I thought it was pretty uncomfortable cringe most of the time. It was always Dwight/Jim/Pam that carried the whole show for me.
I think Erin and Andy and holly and Michael was also good, but one was successful and other was ruined (Andy and erin)
The fight is my favorite part of their relationship. Jim does everything in his power to save Dwight, even if it means hurting him. He gave it everything he had to help his best friend.

The bus roof scene really should have made it in. Excellent point. I also love their chemistry on the sales call. I think if Michael was a better manager, he would have had Jim and Dwight on the road all the time they knew how to close a sale.
@@nathankeck4027 they kind of remind me of goku and vegetta. Great rivals, but better partners. (If you are a DB fan that should make sense)

I like how at the start of the series they seemed to be the greatest of enemyβs but eventually they become the greatest of friends
