    My parents have this really great technique that got my brother and I biking super quickly. Rather than learning by doing it like how you'd regularly be doing it, you take the pedals off. This way, you propel yourself with your feet, and in the process learn the balancing part really quickly. Put them back on, and now that you've got balancing down, all you have to do is pedal. Which you'd already been doing with training wheels! Bada bing, bada boom, you can ride a bike.

    I learnt how to ride a bike around... 4th grade. On a small bike. When I got at 6th grade, and needed a bigger bike, I just couldn't manage! I couldn't turn and I kept crushing in the neighbour's hedge. I gave up, and actually rode a bike first time, in middle school. So happy I'm not alone in this 😅

    I'm currently learning how to skateboard. There's a club at my private school, and when the weather is nice we'll all walk down to the skate park and hang out there until the rest of the after-school sports finish. Not everybody there goes to our school, and I honestly can't keep track of the kids from my school versus the ones from the local public school. I can't even count the times I've been chatting with somebody only to realize they don't go to my school, or been helped out by a total stranger. It's such a supportive community, and I love it.

    5:33 yes you will, because I am going to tell you the secret to stopping on rollerblades. It’s as simple as turning the blades perpendicular to your direction of travel, either right or left is fine. But since the wheels are only meant to go forward not sideways, friction will build up which is exactly how the brakes work to stop your car: causing so much friction to slow and stop the car. Try that sometime. Also, try learning to ride a bike on a somewhat flat surface, this will help with finding your balance in the long run, and then move up to little hills and always avoid potholes.

    I never learned how to ride a bike either, for various reasons. But then when I was 26, I rented an adult trike for a trail ride to a lighthouse, and the level of freedom I felt was indescribable. Now I'm saving up to buy my own. I know some people think they lookblame, but as a 27 year old with a disability that means I struggle with stability, I thought I would never be able to ride a bike, and three wheels gave me the chance I needed. (Plus I teach preschool and the little kids think it's cool that I have 3 wheels too lol)

I also had a skateboard which I didn't properly learn how to ride on until like 5-8 years after I got one. And for both things a break really did help. When I got a bike without training wheels for my birthday a couple years ago I picked it up really quickly and I got really inro skateboarding last year.     Hi! I know I’m really late to this video, but I’ve been rewatching my favorite YTbers now I’ve gotten my old iPad back, and I’ve watched this video! I’m not too good at rollerskating, but a few ways I stop safely is;
    1- Drag a toe-stopper (ONLY ONE THOUGH) slowly to stop!
    2-Try go really slowly, and then you can balance on your toe stoppers
    3- I do this thing with any leg, just put it out , and use it to kinda spin, but it will slow you down, and eventually stop! :D (I hope you see this , since you’re my favorite KRplusr to rewatch since your videos really helped me through depression, I really want the best for you ^^)

    I also have never learned how to ride a bike. I also tried multiple times as a child, though the final time is the one I really remember. My parents and I were at the park. My father was trying to help me balance and helped push me kind of down this small hill. I lost control and crashed into a small tree. I fell and got a few of my fingers pinned between the bike and the tree, and I was bleeding. I started to cry so hard, and for some reason, my father thought this was funny and proceeded to laugh instead of help (at least until my mom yelled at him to help me). After that, I refused to get back on and continued to refuse any other attempt.

    Hi Ily, having poor coordination, motor skills and balance as a kid is another sign of ASD! (just watched your "reasons why I should've guessed I had autism" video and couldn't relate any harder XD)
    I had the exact same experiences, my little sister was the athlete of us 3 and she got her training wheels removed so young, meanwhile i forgot how to ride a bike after a year of not riding it and when I was 11 the training wheels had to go back on even though I had conquered it before. I was always super slow too, once I was riding with my sisters and they turned a corner and I was a bit behind them, I finally make it around the corner and they are in a pile on the ground, limbs and bike parts intertwined.

    For anyone trying to learn a bike or any parents trying to teach their kids, here's a trick that worked like a charm for me. Remove the pedals and just ride around using only your feet to push you forward. See how far you can go without putting your feet back. Do this for a bit, and then put the pedals back and try.

    I used to live with my grandparents in their house before moving to an apartment with my family (I moved when I was around 8). In their house, I had a bike and grandparents who REALLY wanted me to learn how to ride it. But I never attempted riding the bike without training wheels until I was somewhere between 9-11.
    The thing about that time period was that I had just moved into the apartment and practiced with my bike only during summer vacation. That was 2 months a YEAR.
    So due to a lack of practice and any general sporting ability (I have NO ability for sports in general. I seriously suck at all forms of sports) it took me too long to grasp it and since my parents were like “the grandparents will teach her anyway”, they never did anything to ensure that I practiced. Or used my bike at all outside the two months a year. And my grandparents’ age caught up and since they lost their physical ability to run around after me, they officially gave up.
    Then when I was around 12-13, my dad tried to teach me. He had just bought an electric bike for himself and wanted me to learn how to ride. And that was going well, and I was learning (tho EXTREMELY slow)
    Until I crashed into a car. It was a parked car so no worries, the car didn’t get damaged, the bike wasn’t damaged and I wasn’t hurt (except a little bruised here and there). I’m guessing that scared my dad. He hasn’t attempted to teach me how to ride a bike since. No one has, for that matter.

    i went through a similar deal with never learning to ride a bike and going for a scooter instead, but one time i went to the park, did a couple of loops, and just kept going without paying attention to where i was. i rode that thing all the way past the parking lot and into the road, and the only thing that snapped me out of it was the fact that my parents were furiously calling my name from what felt like a mile away. they revoked my scooter privileges after that lol (i also broke my arm while roller skating, but that’s another story)

    Oh and I was "the scooter kid" during 8th and 9th grade. We lived at the end of a suburb high up in a small town. So my way to school was, exit suburbs, take the long hill down around a tiny lake, use speed to keep going the straight distance also around the lake, and then hold the scooter on my shoulder up a hill to school. On my way back home I could take a shortcut up a very steep gravel hiking road to avoid the whole trip around the lake. So I also felt like speed back then. Down the morning hill I didn't use my brakes, and I rode on the carlane, not the sidewalk, but it was just so rewarding to go faster than the cars and have enough speed to not make a single kick until the school hill got close. People I'd never talked to, knew my name which felt weird, but I kinda just made it my thing (alongside being the only kid in a t-shirt all year round)
