Hi, I just wanted to say, this video meant so much to me. I was diagnosed with autism at age 5 and many people I’ve met have misunderstood me. I’ve been bullied at school and I don’t know any other openly autistic girls who are my friends IRL (actually, I don’t have many friends IRL at all). I nearly cried watching this video. I’ve spent so long feeling misrepresented by the media and the world. Kids at my school write the R slur on bathroom stalls. It sometimes feels like I’m the only one out there who’s like me, who is told by the world that I’m “weird” and “don’t fit it in” and much worse. Thank you for making this video.

I remember those days. Teacher's favorite quote was "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me." It really didn't matter to anyone. Words stick with you longer than a scratch ever will. Even then though my childhood bully would get progressively worse like chewing up M&Ms and spitting them on my shirt (my clothes got stained and ruined.) This went on from kindergarten all the way to middle school. The only reason it ever stopped was when I didn't ignore it anymore. I started insulting back, yelling at my bully, and the day when I had my last straw and slapped the crap out of her. I did end up getting in trouble for that but it put an end to it. To any kids out there getting bullied, if the adults don't do anything you have to confront them yourself. Which I can understand how scary that is but one day you'll find the point where enough is enough. You'll need to fight back (obviously don't bring a knife to school or anything like that. It'll cause you a lifetime of problems.) Definitely punch them in the face if that's what it takes. You have to show them that you won't take their bullying anymore and if they try they'll get hurt. And yes you will very likely get in trouble and be blamed for all of it even if the stupid bully was already violent. Just take it in stride, roll that detention or suspension with victory.

I think your parents were not good at teaching you (in your style of learning). For example my mom told me to “glide” when learning. Basically biking without the peddles, I would put my feet on the peddles but wouldn’t move them. **1 day with my dad later** I knew how. So maybe you needed someone else to tell you.
