This is super accurate. I have stories very similar to ths. Like, for real! I get to this girl's house and she yells at me to come in, so I awkwardly walk in and she yells again and is like "I'm in the kitchen" so I walk in and there is a fat guy with a wife beater shirt sitting in the chair and she is cutting his hair with clipper, there are two cats and they start sniffing me and staring at me, and they have a to-do list on the fridge that only has one thing which is "eat ass" and it is checked off. So I am just standing there like... "hey..." And she's like "I'll just be a minute. If I cut his hair I don't have to pay rent" so I'm like... "yeah...." and just stand there not knowing what to do. So she goes "You can sit down" and there is a really small table in the corner with one chair, you know like that Sims 1 table that you bought when first starting because you were too poor for a real table? It was like that. So I sit down and the cat starts trying to scratch my leg. So the three of us have an awkward conversation about how they knew each other and it takes her almost 40 minutes to cut his hair. We were supposed to go out for dinner, but then she goes "I'm not really hungry let's get ice cream instead" so we walk down the street and she takes me to an ice cream truck, then she goes "Never mind let's just go home and I'll order carry out" Annoyed, we walk back to her house and she orders thai. Okay cool, she takes me into the basement where she sleeps and we sit on her bed and she starts playing the game Detroit, so I try to start up a conversation but she pulls out her phone and starts talking to her friend, invites her friend over and is like "My friend is going to eat thai with us." So now me, her female friend and the fat man had to eat thai together. It was awkward and I hated everything. :|

I know people say "I felt that" a lot when relating to things, but like...I for real felt that. That's been most of my reactions to people the past 6 months. Well either that or, "Terrible and my life is a nightmare." and trying to avoid any further conversation.

However, I did get a chance to talk to an ex-Apple worker from the US on the train back to Stockholk, so I guess that I got something out of it, since his story was a rather interesting one.

She had lied about her age and pretty much everything else...And I soon learned that she (and her friends) were stupid as bricks. I honestly felt as if I had found some remote village which God had forgotten all about.

Most people act polite and don’t talk about politics on a first date because they don’t want to get into an argument with someone they literally just met. If you date someone for a tad longer then that’s probably when you can bring that kind of stuff up to see if you’d be a good match. You gotta see if you have any chemistry first, ya know? If you make someone uncomfortable on a first date then they will probably take the relationship so slow that they’ll never see you again.

Sure, it might not be how every country does it, and it might not be the best way to go about it, but many find it rude to discuss controversial topics on day 1.
And no, a mental illness is not a personality trait. I take meds and am unable to drive because of mental problems, but it doesn’t define who I am as a person or the things that I enjoy. Perhaps you don’t like politeness in a person, and that is a personal preference, but all I’m saying is that many people do. I guess I was a bit harsh, but you did in fact say that you hate when people try to talk nice or politely to you.
This video is, and the comment we’re replying under, are about how it’s difficult to be around people who may be depressed, but instead of getting help for it, they just make it their whole persona. If you find another person like that and that’s what you really want in life, then you do you I guess. I’ve worked pretty hard to get over my problems and continue to live, and when I date someone I don’t want to think about my depression or things I find depressing, such as politics, but that’s just me.
We all have different opinions and view points. Sharing my opinion isn’t me attempting to create problems that aren’t there. I only wish to express myself.

Quick way to get friends as an adult is to do classes for hobbies you enjoy. I moved to a new country for a year and that's how I did it. Literally any little class going, art, knitting, science, gun shooting, golf, photography, wine tasting, painting, horse riding, dance class whatever you are into, join a class. Some of them are free, esp for the 1st class. There'll be a bunch of people there into your hobbies so it's easy to chat. If you made just 1 friend from each class, you've got a team in no time! I ended up with 18 really great buddies. You'd be amazed how many adults really crave new friends and feel lonely in every city or town in the world. It's just that we're all holed up and never get to meet each other. At the very least, with your hobbies you'll be so busy you won't notice you're not with friends or dating, as you'll be with different people all the time and it's actually almost impossible not to make friends even if you don't meet up outside class you can always chat on sm. As soon as covid is over, try it! :) (I was given this advice by someone else and it really does work!) Btw the easiest time to make friends is in school, you're all the same age and all going through the same stuff. Tons of kids say they don't have friends but that's honestly the easiest time. Idk who this comment is for, but hopefully someone finds it useful ♥

This is literally what online dating is like. Specifically from dating apps with people you don't really know. It gets awkward. Like, I've gone to the mall with one who was just really quiet and kind of just not there. Then out of nowhere she started crying. I can't remember the details exactly, but I remember thinking it was really weird that she'd go out with someone right after the event that happened and it was super uncomfortable.
it seems a lot of young women have undiagnosed bpd and dating apps and modern culture just amplify it. so situations like that happen. i think every younger guy who's somewhat good looking has at least one experience of seeing/being on a date with a girl like that.

The algorithm is crazy, especially in the pandemic as it's huge numbers of viewers, so stuff in the recommended blows right up.
