Hi Chris, just a quick note... on your fabric make sure you get fabric that is mostly cotton with only 5% spandex. The issues is the resin will melt the spandex or any synthetic fibers if you are using a polyester resin. If its epoxy resin you should be OK but the dry time and stiffness will not be as good. Also keep in mind that the polyester resin will shrink a lot as it cures causing wrinkles from the corner areas. Try to make sure your frame does not flex, and you may need to add more supports to the frame. I have videos on my channel on doing this. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Worked great as a peel fly as epoxy didnt't stick. Not sure if this helps with your build, but your carbon fibre may debond from the ceconite. Had you coated thin layers of spray paint over the original cloth/fabric, it would have got hard enough to layer with resin. Also typically you don’t use one layer of any type of woven composite fabric. Because it’s woven, it is always tighter on one of the sides due to the direction of weave and has memory to one of it’s sides because of this. The trick is to always lay each layer of fabric’s weave in the inverse direction of itself. This is so the forces of it trying to curl cancle out. I tried offering help, I’ve cut all these corners before Chris πŸ˜‰. Looking forward to seeing this project develop.

You guys should use fleece. Fleece is stretchy but absorbs very well. That use it on custom speaker boxes And it looks great

Carbon fiber body panels came out great!

Can always use body panel seam sealer or even semi rigid plastic repair from 3M to help support the the metal bars to the actual panel. It can be sanded and smoothed. Ive done this countless times to help support fiber glass fenders right around the outer edge so they do not crack.

You could also use fleece what they use to make subwoofer boxes when they do a fibreglass mould over them
