Heavily relate to this song rn. Just had to let go of my best friend of 8 years. Took me this long to realize it really was toxic. It's just when we had our highs, my god they were high. She never really cared though and she was so messed up. Tried helping her so much cause I loved her like a sister. She kept getting into toxic relationships. She once tried to end her life took me hours to get the knife away and then she acted like nothing ever happened, started ignoring me and talked on the phone with one of her side hoes. Tried to get her help paid for her to go get meds for her depression then she expected me to keep paying. She always used me to go out, buy her stuff and drinks. Always asked me to do stuff out of comfort zone and I defended her so many times it was all a waste of time. All the words all the pleading wasted. She affected my mental health gave me panic attacks. When I finally found people who genuinely cared for me and I had to take a step back and hang out less, she had the gall to tell me I was a crap friend and I never cared. I cared too damn much that was my problem it wasn't worth the good times she was taking me deep down the rabbit hole with her. So guess that makes me evil in her books. Danielle if you ever see this imma jump skip over ur narcissistic ass and yes I'm still hurting but at least I have friends and an amazing boyfriend to help me get over it. You have no one now good luck 😊
Toxic friendships can be just as hurting as toxic relationships and I am glad that you cut the line
Ive had almost the same experience and it was incredibly difficult to realise just how bad she was because we also had such good times together and she helped me through a lot in the begining but it just grew so toxic i couldnt hold on for my own sanity. Its been a little over a year now since weve last talked and let me tell you it gets so much better, dont ever feel guilty for saving yourself you deserve happiness!

God I felt this.. I let a friend basically sexually harass me because I worried about their suicidal tendencies but then their ex (who wasn't even their partner at the time) bullied me because they were jealous over our "friendship", my friend just shrugged it off and I became so distraught because I realized I was just a toy and they joked about it too. It took me a year to get up again but I'm slowly working on myself now, sadly they are dating a new friend of mine that I also had to basically drop but I'll be ok one day..

i’m genuinely so proud of how far Melanie has came with their music. I remember listening to Dollhouse for the first time ever and relating to it and it made me wanna continue listening to her to see what messages she’d continue to unfold in her music. This new era has me excited and although I’ll miss crybaby so much, I’m just happy and glad they have improved as a character and are becoming more comfortable with themself.

MELANIES THOUGHTS ON EVIL- My favorite of the conflict songs! CJ laid down guitar and looped it, I paced around the pool and wrote the lyric and melody in around 30 minutes. Flowed really easily and effortlessly. I think it's because I just had a mental turning point where I was finally able to articulate perfectly what I had dealt with in my last relationship. I wanted the lyrics to be the most savage and the most cunty. Every time I wrote something I was like no it's not mean enough. It's about dealing with a narcissist who ironically calls you evil just because you're able to see through their bullshit. I spent the entire day blowing out my vocals recording it. It was definitely the most challenging song to sing.

The powerful message flows through me, fuels me. Melanie's creativity is as lucent ad the stars, I'd die to know how she does it.
ever since I listened to dollhouse when I was a kid I have been gravitated towards melanie, to me she's the definition of an artist, she inspires me so much and truly no one else is doing it like melanie is in her genre, the amount of creativity and the fact that all three albums stand on thier own yet link together at the same time will always amaze me 🤍🕯

I was an adult, I am the same age as her, but the child part of me, the parts of me with trauma, relate so hard to her. And I think that's apart of the point of her music. It touches and reaches special parts of us that I feel other music can't. I am so thankful for her. I agree.
