The fact that the first "Pet Mart" didn't let her adopt a cat because she would do the right thing to keep an animal from suffering and dying slowly is extremely concerning

Thanks for making this video. I'm rewatching this in memory of Luigi 🐈. I have a bit of quirk where I watch my friend's animal videos when I feel empathy for the local pets (in this case a friends greyhound that panicked in the parking lot after having a sudden allergic reaction. Thankfully nobody got hit and the dog got home safe and sound.)

I just love how Luigi is drawn when she makes videos with him.

My cat Alan was neutered at a time where he also, like Luigi, had not gone through cat puberty.
So we forever have our tiny female cat who meows a lot, and if you don’t remember or know the meow you think that she, the little rascal, is Alan.
Alan on the other hand is about 14 pounds (which is healthy for him, he’s a long boi), will cuddle you to death, and has the meow of a kitten. Without knowing who is who you’d get the roles completely mixed up.
For example: Take Luigi’s eating and other rambunctious habits and put them into a tiny 9 pound cat and then take the meow and male part and put that into a 14 pound cat.
That’s those two…
Also, how Luigi and Juli… Julie? I’ll just go with his sister… interact is very similar to Hope and Alan!
I actually mentioned this to my mom and we both died laughing at the similarities

The best way to make sure your cat doesn’t eat random stuff is to make sure he never gets the opportunity to do so. Keeping the house tidy and free from debre will help. Keeping food items off of the counters and places he can access. Sectioning off parts of the house where he can and cant access will help to prevent further chewing on chords and cables. Think of it like having a baby and childproofing the house. Its the same with cats.

I think it’s funny how all of these different animators draw their pets. Ice cream sandwich’s dog is literally just a blob on screen, theodd1’sout’s dog is actually kinda anatomically correct, and Luigi is just 🚶🐱

That "never went through puberty" thing explains a lot about one of my cats. We found him crying on a doorstep two houses from mine when he has but a lil' baby. But as you said, his meow never got deeper and he eats like a maniac. Thankfully he never went through the "terrible twos" phase tho, he just stayed baby lol.

I can relate. When I first got my furballs (yes, more than one), it was chaos. One of them would eat literally everything she came across - within the first day of her being in my apartment, I had already rescued her from getting her guts tangled up in string. I quickly learnt how to cat-proof the place.
The other one wasn't so much for eating random items; she preferred to chew on me. Whenever I would try to cuddle with her in bed, she'd bite any uncovered skin she could get her little needle teeth on. This behaviour went on for a good month or two, and like you, I came close to giving up on her. But I didn't, and I'm so glad I chose not to.
Kittens are extremely curious and energetic. They love to explore, and one of the ways they do that, is with their mouth. Much like human babies! They also need to learn a lot about living with humans and all the rules that come with it. Much like Rome, cat parenthood isn't taught in a day. It takes time, and lots of trial and error. But if you stick with it, you'll end up with a long-lasting bond and lots of joy. 💜

my fuzzball used to talk and yell at me all the time. it was honestly like playful banter and argument with myself, and in the wintertime when it was REALLY cold, he'd claw at the blankets until i held them up for him to crawl under so he could snuggle. he passed away the january of this year and i miss him so much. but i have a very personality filled bunny to care for and im learning to let go of him after 11 years of my 17 being togehter.

My sister owns 12 free roaming cats. Meaning, they come to the house sometimes, but mostly they love to just run around the fields and forests nearby.
One of them, named Moritz, is a cuddly fellow, who likes to sleep on peoples faces, necks, shoulders and anywhere in between.
Gandalf, his brother, is a relaxer, who loves fighting the cacti on the windowsill.
Meowthie is very shy and loves high places.
Fatcat is the big bro. He's defender, avenger and bodyguard of all the cats. He even fought a very aggressive Sheperd Dog once, that has strayed to the property and attacked our dog out of the blue.
They all are unique like that.
The trash eater in our family is called "Sock" Johnes. He had a habit of eating socks, the carpets, tapestry and the likes to get our attention and also vomited a lot. :3

"A new environment can be very stressful, and their personality and behavior is gonna be all over the place!" When I got my kitten, Wanda, she was so timid she only wanted to cuddle and stay close. Once she got used to her new home, tho, she became the biggest DORK on the planet, with a love for chasing and attacking things, and screaming for food. She's the undisputed queen of this house, and the funny thing is...she absolutely knows it.

Ugh my 1 year old dog is going through the same "eat anything and everything" phase haha
Cardboard, wrappers, chocolate/grape jelly(toxic to dogs shes given me so much anxiety. Even had to contact the emergency vet 3 days after she came home). Shes unfortunately very tall and can reach counters and tabletops very easily and not everyone remembers not to leave things laying on them. So she gets playpen time when I cant watch her like a hawk but shes an absolute angel otherwise so despite all the stress its pretty easy to forgive.

This reminds me of my cat. She is the naughtiest cat on the planet and was also weaned too early. She didn’t really like me until she got one of her back legs amputated, and during that process, I hung out with her all the way, helping her climb stairs, and comforting her when she forgot she didn’t have 4 legs with pets and encouragement. Now she really likes me but my dad refuses to admit I’m her favorite >:3

honestly it's situations like the petsmart incident you describe here that I do rescues or shelters, ESPECIALLY for cats and dogs. Hell even some shelters are sketchy in the way that they dont properly socialize their animals with other animals.
For example I got my gorgeous tabby baby as an 8 week kitten from a shelter, Apparently her sister was taken to a cat cafe while she was left behind with seemingly no mother. She was born in this shelter too, but she was kept in a cage all by herself and it's lead her to have only child syndrome even though she lived with my older cat and now a younger cat as well.
I got our younger cat, Named Leo from an organization named sisca. And let me tell you those people know what their doing with animals. They make sure the cat your picking is the best fit for your family and what your looking for. They also have a socialization program for cats that are feral, sick or just need to be socialized better. Leo was surrendered with an upper raspatory infection which was so bad the employee we talked to basically said the people who surrendered him saved his life. They always had cats in rooms with other cats, but they wouldn't do this for newcomers, they'd keep newbies or sick cats in a quarantine so they could adjust. We also have suspicions leo was abused or living on the streets when he was surrendered as hes very cautious and doesnt like sudden movement of the feet+leg variety.
Moral of the story? adopt dont shop. and if your adopting from an organization like sisca, donate too, It helps them keep their organization going especially because the only money they make is from the adoption and any other purchases made at their establishment for new pet owners.
